If you are looking for an exquisite 4-bedroom villa in an absolutely prime position, right next to the sea in the lovely Praia da Luz, then this is the place for you! How wonderful to be lazing by a stunning pool taking in the awe-inspiring views of the sea with no-one in front of you. Not to mention it's only a 10 minute walk from great shops and restaurants, and only 20 minutes walk from the main beach.
Villa Zinha not only occupies this incredible position on the sea, but it's also an outstanding villa. The pool, terrace and garden are simply wonderful. Children will love the pool and garden to play in as well as the table tennis table. The comfortable seating and sunbeds are just waiting for you - don’t’ forget those holiday books! The barbecue will be great for outside summer dining, and with it's mood lighting it's also a perfect spot to watch the sun go down in the evenings.
Inside the villa, you will be equally impressed. The open-plan living area is gorgeous, opening straight up to the terrace. The kitchen has everything you would hope for, including a state-of-the-art coffee machine. There is a delightful double bedroom downstairs overlooking the garden, which is very helpful for less mobile guests. Another double opens up to a terrace with beautiful views of the sea.
The striking staircase from the wonderful atrium space leads upstairs. One very spacious bedroom has two single beds and a sofa bed so you can fit extra guests here. The panoramic views of the sea are dazzling. The other double also boasts the same incredible views.
Villa Zinha is just one of a handful of villas in Praia da Luz with such a stunning position right on the seafront. If it's available, we recommend booking fast!

Praia da Luz is absolutely charming. It is a quiet resort with many fantastic restaurants, bars and two beautiful beaches - a wonderful destination for families. The main beach is just a 10-minute drive or 20-minute walk and is absolutely stunning. It has a European Blue Flag award and is very safe for children. There are several supermarkets, the favourite being Baptista. You should also try the cakes and bread from the bakers on Rua Direita.
Those with an adventurous spirit looking for an adrenaline rush should book a trip with Booster Bikes in the resort. The longer trips are 65km, and guides take you to see attractive places from a completely different perspective. These eMTB electrically assisted bikes are incredible, so you will not even be exhausted at the end of the day! There are shorter trips too!
You can take a walk along the clifftop to Burgau and watch the Atlantic rollers splashing on the rocks below. It is sensational. Salema is another lovely place to visit. If you love sardines, they are delicious at one of the restaurants overlooking the beach. You can sit and watch the local fishermen repairing their nets. There are some wonderful little isolated coves if you are brave enough to tackle the steep cliff paths – not a good idea with young children though! Carrapateira is a tranquil, pretty, spread-out village. The lighthouse can be seen from 60 miles away, and there is a very interesting museum you can visit. You will see the most spectacular sunsets at Sagres. You really should wash this down with a Sagres beer!
Lagos has an interesting and important museum, wonderful promenade and restaurants serving fantastic food in the Old Town. You can buy fruit and vegetables grown by the locals who may still have a donkey and cart at the Saturday morning market. Don’t forget to buy some honey and figs too! Boat trips from Lagos visit caves and include snorkelling or dolphin watching.
Don’t forget there are several very impressive golf courses close to Luz. Boavista is an 18-hole championship course and Gold Santo Antonio is another par 71, 18-hole course set within Parque da Floresta.

The Region
Lagos is a city on the western part of Portugal's south coast. The city is famous for its stunning beaches with beautiful rock formations and steep cliffs. The superb beauty of this charming city has no equal in the Algarve and is the reason why hordes of tourists travel thousands of kilometres to visit it every year.
Quiet sandy coves are sandwiched between dramatic cliffs. The sandy 2.5-mile stretch of Meia Praia caters to every water sport imaginable. And when you've had your fill, you can digest your day with some of the best nightlife in the Algarve region.
Drinking and good times continue to be a fundamental part of a visit to Lagos, and the fine array of restaurants, bars and local festas stand as a testament to this. The busy flea market fills the centre's narrow streets, which also boasts a Cultural Centre hosting various exhibitions and events throughout the year.
Lagos is equally suited as a family holiday destination; there are safe and sheltered beaches for your children, while thrill-seeking teenagers will adore the theme and water parks.
ABOUT THE ALGARVE
Though most people tend to see the Algarve as all about the beaches and a holiday on the Med, there’s far much more to it than that. There’s actually a load of fascinating culture and history, superb cuisine and enthralling adventures to be had, though we’d be the first to admit that the beaches are pretty special too, with lots of sand, spectacle and wonderfully clean water.
But while you’re enjoying one of our fantastic villas in Algarve, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we’ve put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!
