If you are looking for an exquisite 4-bedroom villa in an absolutely prime position, frontline to the sea in the lovely Praia da Luz, then this is the one for you! How wonderful would it be to be lazing by a stunning pool taking in the awe-inspiring views of the sea with no-one in front of you?

Villa Zinha not only occupies this incredible position, but it is also an outstanding, wow villa! The double height atrium as you walk in takes your breath away, so you know you have booked the right villa! Only 5 minutes walk from awesome restaurants, fabulous shops and 10 minutes walk to the beach is fantastic, especially when you are on holiday with a young family or older relatives or friends that do not want to walk too far.

The pool, terrace and garden are simply wonderful. It feels so private and away from all the hassles of everyday life. Children will love the pool and garden to play in as well as the table tennis table.  The comfortable seating and sunbeds are just waiting for you! Don’t’ forget those holiday books! It is also a perfect spot in the evening, with its mood lighting, and with a glass of wine to watch the sun go down – it is just magical. The barbecue will be great for outside summer dining.

Inside the villa, you will be equally impressed. The open-plan living area is gorgeous opening straight up to the terrace. The kitchen has everything you would hope for, including a state-of-the-art coffee machine! There is a delightful double bedroom downstairs overlooking the garden, which is also very helpful for less mobile guests. Another double opens up to a terrace with beautiful views of the sea.

The striking staircase from the wonderful atrium space leads upstairs. One very spacious bedroom has two single beds but also a sofa bed so you can fit extra guests here. The panoramic views of the sea are dazzling. The other double also boasts the same incredible views. The house is so stylish, and everything is pretty neutral though the colours chosen make it feel very comfortable. It is certainly a luxury, stylish, wow villa!

Villa Zinha is just one of a handful of villas in Praia da Luz with such a stunning position straight on the seafront. If it is available, you should book it fast!

Praia da Luz is absolutely charming. It is a quiet resort though it has many fantastic restaurants and bars and two beautiful beaches. It is a wonderful destination for families. One of the beaches is by the old fort. Though small it is lovely and is only a 10-minute walk or 2 minutes in the car from the villa. The main beach is just a 3-minute drive or 12-minute walk and is absolutely stunning.  It has a European Blue Flag award and is very safe for children. There are several supermarkets, the favourite being Baptista. You should also try the cakes and bread from the bakers on Rua Direita.

Those with an adventurous spirit looking for an adrenaline rush should book a trip with Booster Bikes in the resort. The longer trips are 65km, and guides take you to see attractive places from a completely different perspective. These eMTB electrically assisted bikes are incredible, so you will not even be exhausted at the end of the day! There are shorter trips too!

You can take a walk along the clifftop to Burgau and watch the Atlantic rollers splashing on the rocks below. It is sensational. Salema is another lovely place to visit. If you love sardines, they are delicious at one of the restaurants overlooking the beach. You can sit and watch the local fishermen repairing their nets. There are some wonderful little isolated coves if you are brave enough to tackle the steep cliff paths – not a good idea with young children though! Carrapateira is a tranquil, pretty, spread-out village. Its two beaches with strong swells attract a hippy, surf-dude crowd. The coast is wild, with copper-coloured and ash-grey cliffs speckled with yellow and green shrub, backing creamy, white sands. Cape St. Vincent is the southern-most part of Europe. This wind blasted and storm pounded headland is visited by many tourists. The lighthouse can be seen from 60 miles away, and there is a very interesting museum you can visit. You will see the most spectacular sunsets at Sagres. You really should wash this down with a Sagres beer!

Lagos has a slave museum, wonderful promenade and restaurants serving fantastic food in the Old Town. You can buy fruit and vegetables grown by the locals who may still have a donkey and cart at the Saturday morning market. Don’t forget to buy some honey and figs too! Boat trips from Lagos visit caves and include snorkelling or dolphin watching.

Don’t forget there are several very impressive golf courses close to Luz. Boavista is an 18-hole championship course and Gold Santo Antonio is another par 71, 18-hole course set within Parque da Floresta.

THE REGION

Lagos is a city on the western part of Portugal's south coast. The city is famous for its stunning beaches with beautiful rock formations and steep cliffs. The superb beauty of this charming city has no equal in the Algarve and is the reason why hordes of tourists travel thousands of kilometres to visit it every year.

Quiet sandy coves are sandwiched between dramatic cliffs. The sandy 2.5-mile stretch of Meia Praia caters to every water sport imaginable. And when you've had your fill, you can digest your day with some of the best nightlife in the Algarve region.

Drinking and good times continue to be a fundamental part of a visit to Lagos, and the fine array of restaurants, bars and local festas stand as a testament to this. The busy flea market fills the centre's narrow streets, which also boasts a Cultural Centre hosting various exhibitions and events throughout the year.

Lagos is equally suited as a family holiday destination; there are safe and sheltered beaches for your children, while thrill-seeking teenagers will adore the theme and water parks.

ABOUT THE ALGARVE

Though most people tend to see the Algarve as all about the beaches and a holiday on the Med, there’s far much more to it than that. There’s actually a load of fascinating culture and history, superb cuisine and enthralling adventures to be had, though we’d be the first to admit that the beaches are pretty special too, with lots of sand, spectacle and wonderfully clean water.

But while you’re enjoying one of our fantastic villas in Algarve, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we’ve put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Children will adore Casa Prado. The garden, swimming pool and terrace with table tennis will provide hours of fun. They will also be itching to get into the sea, even if it is a tad cold, and it is just a short walk away. They will love the beach in Praia da Luz. You can arrange to go on a dolphin-watching trip from the beach. What wonderful holiday memories! There are plenty of watersports to try and have fun with.

In Lagos, you can go out on an amazing 4-hour cruise. As well as seeing the amazing coastline of the Western Algarve, with its spectacular rock formations, you can try your hand at snorkelling, stand-up paddleboarding or even a water trampoline! Children will love it. There is also a children’s zoo you can visit.

Kayaking through the surreal beauty of the Algarve’s caves and cliffs has to be a fantastic day out. If you do not want to kayak, you can visit them in a boat.

For older children, you might want to pre-book a windsurfing course to take advantage of the huge rollers along from Praia da Luz. Or they might even persuade their parents to take them out on an electric bike tour!

The Algarve is also an ideal region for hot air balloon flights because of its 300 days of sunshine and absence of clouds. They offer breath-taking views from the air, taking you over rolling hills and valleys. You can book this from Lagos. What an amazing thing to do on your holiday!

  • Perfect house

    on 10/10/2023

This house is perfectly located directly on the ocean in Luz. It has complete privacy while still being a very short walk easy into the beautiful town of Luz. We hiked to Lagos and other adjacent beach towns over amazing mountain ocean cliffs each morning. You could easily enjoy your time at the pool, gazing out into the ocean, but there are also so many amazing very beautiful beaches, and other towns nearby for perfect adventures. We chartered a private yacht for an all day excursions to see the miles of coast and beautiful beaches from the water. Breath-taking day trip. This house is beautiful, perfectly private, for a group of friends / family and we would absolutely stay here again. The house kitchen and pool area are very well equipped and you could easily stay in for the evening.

  • Spectacular

    on 31/08/2023

We had a wonderful two weeks at Villa Zinha in late July 2023. The views from the villa towards the sea are so spectacular and the location of the villa is perfect for visiting the restaurants of Luz without needing to get in a car, but far enough out of the centre to be really peaceful. We hope to return again to the villa on our next visit to the Algarve.

  • Would highly recommend!!!

    on 25/08/2023

We had a great time at Villa Zinha in a beautiful location in Praia da Luz. The villa had everything that we needed and well equipped for the 2 families, the owner was great and very responsive to anything we needed - would highly recommend!!!

  • Stunning ocean view

    on 19/08/2023

Stunning ocean view, nice pool and villa very well equipped. Walking distance from restaurants, beach, grocery stores. Miguel, the owner, is very nice and has been very helpful.

  • Great memories

    on 27/05/2023

Cant say anything bad about this villa. Location, view, pool, cleanliness, team, beds, amenities, all top notch. When we return to Portugal, we will stay here again if available. Thank you for great memories.

  • Unparalleled Views

    on 20/04/2023

It’s a very comfortable villa with beautiful ocean views. We relaxed outdoors, lounging by the pool. We enjoyed ping pong and foosball while sipping wine. The owners were very responsive. We had a heated pool which was really welcome in April. Grocery store is 3-5 min drive. In front of the villa there is a gravel road into town 5 min walk to crepes/ice cream place, several restaurants, sandy beach. If you walk in the opposite direction it’s a beautiful hiking trail along a rugged rocky beach terrain. Luz is a very small town but has a sandy beach and restaurants right in front of the beach. Lagos is 15 min away drive if one wants more shopping and food variety. Lagos has a large marina, where we reserved a boat tour of the coastline. 30min drive is the infamous Sagres, the most southwest point of Europe, beautiful and windy, have layers ready for that trip. Villa itself had spacious area to hangout inside, everything we needed in the kitchen. There are 4 bedrooms and each has an en-suite bathroom which was very convenient. I would recommend this villa for a relaxing vacation by the sea.

  • Beautiful ocean view

    on 28/09/2022

House was clean and comfortable for 8 people with beautiful ocean view and good size pool. Owner quickly responded to any issues. Overall we had a good time!!!

  • I'll be back!!!

    on 08/09/2022

We are so happy we stayed at this property in Luz, vs the tourist area of Lagos. Great restaurants with 10 minutes walk. I'll be back!!!

  • Simply perfection

    on 26/07/2022

House was open lay out, big kitchen, beautiful infinity pool with large patio to have meals on. 12min walk to Luz. Rooms were spacious. Perfect for families or just with friends!

  • What else can you say about that view???

    on 20/08/2021

What else can you say about that view??? After 10 days of aggressively touring Portugal from top to bottom we were thrilled to land at the beautiful Villa! The views and pool are so relaxing we didn’t want to go anywhere else! The kitchen is extremely well appointed and we cooked many fabulous meals there. Mostly we just enjoyed the house and it’s surroundings and felt very grateful for it!
