There is plenty to do, with a tennis court, the 15m x 7m swimming pool and bicycles provided for you to go exploring on. Also, you have a gym, table tennis and table football, a stack of board games and even a piano to play with.
It is a pleasure to dine outside with a barbecue in an old bread oven and covered dining space on the terrace. You’re only a short drive from the town of Silves which has many great restaurants and bars to try.
The bright interior features an L-shaped living area with a wood-burning stove, which has direct access out to the gardens. Also on the ground level, you have a well-equipped kitchen and a twin and double bedroom. Both are en-suite, with direct garden access from the double.
Two more twin bedrooms and two doubles can be found on the first floor. One of these is the beautiful master bedroom with a king-size bed, marble en-suite bathroom and dressing area. Rural Location
A quiet and charming Portuguese town, Silves lies a few kilometres inland and provides a pleasant contrast to the busier resorts on the coast. With its old city walls and castle, the town was once the capital of the Algarve region, and reminders of its history are all around. It remains largely untouched by the hand of modernisation, so it’s the place to go if you want to see Portugal is all about.
Silves’ calm character couldn’t be more different from the excesses of Albufeira’s tourist strip or the glamour of Vilamoura. The centre is compact, with some cobbled streets and hills, notably the one leading up to the eye-catching red-brick castle. There are other sights to see too, such as the city gate and Ponte Romana Bridge, and guided tours are available. A covered market and plenty of cafés and restaurants make for pleasant places to spend some time soaking up the ambience.
If you are travelling to Silves from Portimão, around 14km away, you may be able to take a fishing boat tour of the harbour. These tours make their way up the Arada River, give you a couple of hours to see Silves, then return you to Portimão. Other activities include golf at the Silves Golf course, or perhaps a trip to nearby Lagoa which offers fun for the children in the form of the Slide & Splash water park. Silves is further from the Algarve’s beaches than many towns, but you should still be able to drive to the nearest in around 15 minutes.

The Region
Situated some 7 km inland from the magnificent coastline for which this municipality of the Algarve is renowned, the small city of Lagoa has a rural feel that contrasts significantly with the cosmopolitan atmosphere of its popular seaside resorts.
The idyllic town is charmingly traditional and only a short distance from the popular Portimão. As well as being close to some of the best beach resorts in the region and the historic town of Silves, Lagoa holidays have ample charms of their own.
Inserted in a traditionally agricultural and important wine-producing area, Lagoa lies on a small hill rising above flatlands that allegedly once held the lagoon that gave the city its name.
