For some stunning countryside living, Santana Views offers another look at the Algarve. This stylish property enjoys an idyllic location with direct views over Barragem do Funcho and the river. Santana Views is set back in the hills surrounded by fig and carob trees with nature trails winding down to the water’s edge. The villa offers complete privacy, tranquility and beauty. It is a fabulous venue for a special celebration and the owners often arrange weddings, painting and walking retreats, culinary cooking courses, wine tastings, detox breaks and yoga workshops. You can enjoy many supporting services such as a private chef, grocery delivery, massage, beauty treatments, bird watching guides, walking guides, kayaking, paddle boarding and office services. You have the benefit of this sensational location yet you are still within easy reach of Albufeira, Vilamoura and the breathtaking beaches of the Algarve. With five beautifully finished bedrooms, the villa sleeps up to ten guests plus babies in cots. The interiors are meticulous, very inviting and utterly charming with characterful features such as double height ceilings and beams. The villa enjoys a stunning deck with a gorgeous infinity pool and superb, uninterrupted views of the countryside and the Funcho Dam. Santana Views was originally a Portuguese farmhouse. It has been tastefully renovated to offer luxurious modern comfort. The villa is extremely family friendly with all kinds of equipment and toys available.
The lounge of Santana Views is a heavenly space with a very attractive double height ceiling with characterful wooden beams. It also boasts squishy sofa and colourful accessories, beautifully complementing the natural hues. There is a good selection of books, magazines and family games. The lounge is drowned in natural light and offers double doors to the sun terrace. Next door, the generous kitchen diner is another delight with the very best of appliances, perfect for cooking enthusiasts. A large 10 seater cherry wood dining table makes this a very sociable space. If you do want to cook, a local culinary chef can prepare a scrumptious dinner every night or you can pre-order lunches or dinners from a local catering partner who offer a delivery service. You can also request welcome hampers, picnic hampers and packed lunches. What a treat!
The master bedroom suite is absolutely fabulous, a light, airy dreamy space with a beautiful ensuite bathroom and a super comfy kingsize bed. Luxury linens and stunning soft furnishings complete this wonderful room. Located on the ground floor, double doors open to the garden and pool area, a perfect spot for your morning cup of coffee. The second largest room, the Teal Room, is also on the ground floor with its own ensuite bathroom and access to the garden and pool. Varying shades of blue and teal offer a calm and luxurious feel and luxury linens adorn the kingsize bed. The ensuite’s walk-in power shower offers grab handles which are useful if you have anyone in your group with mobility issues. The Green Room on the first floor enjoys wonderful character with its rustic wooden beams, sloping ceiling and Juliet balcony that overlooks the pool and the attractive Funcho Dam. It offers twin beds, again beautifully dressed. The room offers a black out curtain so that you can sleep in longer. It shares a large family bathroom. The Zebra Room is another delightful twin which can be made into a double on request. Beautifully decorated, there are naturally zebra elements. The room’s Juliet balcony looks out to the dam and panoramic countryside views. The Zebra Room has use of the family bathroom. The final bedroom is the Purple Room with its smart purple colour pops and wonderful double skylights, perfect for stargazing. It enjoys a superbly comfortable kingsize bed and shares the family bathroom. The family bathroom is very generous in size with double washbasins, a large walk-in power shower and complimentary luxurious toiletries.
Santana Views boasts beautiful outside space with a large deck winding itself around three quarters of the villa. The deck can be used for special celebrations. The sunset terrace offers welcome shade, perfect for alfresco dining under the mature Carob trees with spectacular views of the dam and river. The pool deck is at the back of the house enjoying fantastic sunsets and stunning views. Surrounded by luxury loungers and with a martini seat in the pool, you will enjoy many hours here. The large waterfront deck is a wonderful spot to relax on outdoor sofas watching the herons wading. During springtime, the exotic hoopoe and Iberian, azure-winged magpies flitter from tree to tree. Just off the kitchen you will discover an outdoor cooking area with a barbecue and wood fired pizza oven.

About the surrounding area of Santana ViewsSantana Views enjoys a delightful countryside location overlooking the Funcho Dam and the river. It is incredibly peaceful with spectacular vistas all around. You can enjoy the wonderful towns and villages close by, the Algarve’s sensational golf courses, children’s entertainment, the nightlife of Vilamoura and Albufeira and the wonderful beaches.
There are excellent beaches in Albufeira and the surrounding coastline including Praia da Oura, the closest to the villa, Praia do Peneco, Praia da Coelha, Praia de Sao Rafael, Praia da Falesia, Praia dos Arrifes, Praia do Castelo and Praia de Santa. Albufeira’s town beach of Praia do Peneco is reached through a tunnel through the cliffs or by taking an elevator from the beautiful promenade where you will enoy sensational sunset views. Tourists enjoy the journey to the beach. At low tide you can take some seriously long beach walks along the golden sandy coastline, admiring the red cliffs that back most of the beaches along the way. The fabulous Praia da Falesia is almost 6km long and takes roughly two hours to walk!
The cobbled warren of narrow streets in the Old Town of Albufeira is lined with charming restaurants, whitewashed houses and excellent, unique shops. It is very pretty in the evenings. There are over 100 restaurants Albufeira, many serving super fresh fish straight from the marina. The marina is a top-notch tourist destination in its own right. It is very modern and is brimming with luxury yachts, colourful fishing boats and excellent, chic restaurants as well as entertainment for the young ones such as bouncy castles and bowling.
You will enjoy visiting Loule, Silves and Faro Old Town. They all have their own charms together with historic churches and castles, markets, fabulous restaurants and friendly locals. Almancil is charming and typically Portuguese. It is brimming with cute cafes, restaurants, galleries displaying the local pottery and many artists workshops. The neighbouring village of Sao Lourenco boasts the most attractive church in probably the whole of the Algarve. It is decorated with characteristic blue tiles telling the life of its patron saint, beautiful azulejo work dating back to 1730. Very close to the church is the local centro cultural which hosts a range of art exhibitions and musical performances. Silves is very attractive and boasts a rich history. Built on the banks of the River Arade, Silves is a charming town with plenty of outdoor cafes and scented orange groves. It is dominated by one of the best-preserved castles in the Algarve.

THE REGION
Albufeira is one of the Algarve's top hotspots. It's a charismatic beach town with an energetic and busy vibe where every type of holidaymaker can find something to enjoy. Not only is it family friendly and bursting with great activities for kids and teens, there is also a buzzing nightlife scene on the downtown strip for adults travelling on their own.
If you’re after something a bit more cultural, there is also a beautiful Old Town where all the best restaurants and historical sites can be found. For those looking to get a little bit extra out of their Albufeira stay, Vidamar Resort in the Salgados area offers all the perks of staying in a self-catered villa plus the amenities of a luxury resort.
Not far from there you’ll also come across the beachy Sao Rafael as well as Galé where the sandy stretches and deep blue waves will have you thinking you’re on the set of a photoshoot. Golf lovers might want to head to Amendoeira Golf Resort, located a quick fifteen minutes from Albufeira, which is perfect those who like a good game while still staying close to town.

Best Suited For: All AgesThe owners of Santana Views certainly make it easy for families. There is so much equipment on offer and so many games and toys. The equipment includes a baby bouncer, highchair, bed guard, changing mat, bath, potty, stair gates and cots. The list is endless! The infinity pool has a lockable safety gate.
Albufeira is a wonderful playground for children. There is an endless list of attractions from fabulous beach days, thrilling fun on inflatable playgrounds or banana boats, visiting animals in Zoomarine, water adventures in the water parks, bowling, mini-golf, high ropes challenges, kayaking, boat rides to petting zoos.
The water parks are excellent for family fun. Aqualand Algarve, Aquashow Family Park and Slide & Splash provide thrilling aquatic fun for the whole family. Slide & Splash offers birds of prey presentations, reptiles and macaw presentations as well as excellent, adrenaline rush slides. The 4-man Big Wave ride surprises even the most adventurous. Aquashow Family Park is located in Quarteira and Aqualand Algarve is situated in Alcantarilha, between Albufeira and Portimao where you will find the highest water slide of the Algarve. All members of the family will be happy, even if they just want to relax on a lazy river or top up their tan.
Horse and pony lovers can enjoy treks and lessons in dressage, jumping and stable management at the Albufeira Riding Centre, Equestrian Horse Riding Albufeira and the Riding Center Quinta da Saudade. Experienced riders can enjoy memorable beach treks.
The charming Krazy World Zoo is an interactive zoo with activities for everyone. Children can feed dwarf goats, llamas and deer in the petting zoo and in Terra Exotica they can enjoy interaction with African spur turtles and birds in the aviary. The zoo is also home to lemurs and some 8.5m snakes. There are some fabulous animal presentations and a delightful pool to swim in. The world of dinosaurs, mini-golf, pedal karts and bouncy castle are an added bonus! Children could never be bored in Albufeira!
