Dar Azlef is a beautiful property; part exposed brick and part dazzling white render. Within its smart exterior, you will discover glorious living and sleeping spaces. It is chic, effortlessly stylish and oozes luxury. There are plenty of floor-to-ceiling windows and doors to let in the unique sparkle of Moroccan light. The open-plan living room enjoys a wonderful open-feature fireplace, a dining area, a television area and sumptuous furnishings. The art is vibrant and very striking, blending well with the other colour splashes. Doors open to the terrace. The villa’s kitchen offers all the appliances you could possibly want for your self-catering stay though you can also request catering services.
Dar Azlef boasts four gorgeous bedroom suites, all with immaculate, stylish ensuite bathrooms. They all enjoy lovely garden views. One bedroom comes with a lavish double bed, two offer twins that can be set up as kingsize beds, and the last is another twin. Three of the bathrooms enjoy walk-in showers, and one has a bath and shower. They are minimalist in decor and very spacious.
The terrace offers chic, modern lounge furniture, which sits beside the gorgeous 8m x 3m pool. There are cool loungers, a lush lawn and wonderful views. The garden is very well-established and very tranquil. The villa also enjoys a roof terrace with a seating area and an outdoor chimney. You will love your time at Dar Azlef.

About the surrounding area of Dar AzlefDar Azlef enjoys a beautiful location on the Sofitel Essaouria Mogador Golf and Spa Resort in Essaouira. Guests enjoy world-class resort amenities and the charms of Essaouira on Morocco’s Atlantic coast. Visitors to Essaouira enjoy stunning beaches, thrilling watersports, delicious fresh seafood and a buzzing Medina. The town is very much a working port and fishing town as well as a beautiful tourist hub. It is known for its coastal wind, beautifully named the Alizee, giving the town the name of the ‘Wind City of Africa’.
You will enjoy a relaxed shopping experience in the Medina of Essaouira. There are five main gates and a laid-back, car-free pedestrian area sprinkled with souks that you can explore at your own pace. You will discover palm-lined avenues lined with art galleries and boutiques. You will enjoy the gorgeous white and blue facades and the striking ramparts. Dating from the late 18th century and added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2001, it is a lovely place to stroll. It was famously used in the opening scene of Orson Wells’ 1951 films Othello and Game of Thrones. The Medina is surrounded by dramatic, wave-lashed ramparts which offer spectacular sunset views. The Slala de la Ville 18th-century ramparts protect the Medina and its row of nineteen bronze cannons from the crashing waves and seafaring marauders.
Essaouira’s busy port is filled with colourful fishing boats. There is a large fish auction in the market hall by the port gates every Saturday, plus you can watch the daily catch being sold every afternoon to the restaurants around the harbour. You will see the sea-blue wooden boats arriving and departing and nets being repaired.
The beaches are great fun for windsurfing and kite surfing though the water is pretty cold. The beach runs for approximately six miles and is popular for walking, football and other sports. Swimming is best in the town stretch as Safi Beach to the north has a strong current. Camel owners are founds on the sands to the south. You can head south across the Ksob River to see the ruins of the Borj El Berod, an old fortress and pavilion at low tide. From here, you can walk inland to the village of Diabat or continue to the sand dunes of Cap Sim.
The Gnaoua World Music Festival is held in June for three days. It is Essaouira’s biggest annual event. The Gnaoua people are descendants of slaves that originated from Black Africa and established brotherhoods throughout Morocco. They are made up of master musicians, metal castanet players, clairvoyants, mediums and their followers. The festival showcases their talents with music and mysticism.

Essaouira is great for adventurous families. Children adore the freedom of running in the Medina without any traffic, camel riding over the sand dunes, enjoying the waves, surfing and quad biking. Teenagers can try their hand at kite surfing. You can head to Safi Beach at the northern end of Essaouira or Diabat Beach south of the town. Children enjoy taking a horse and carriage to get to Safi Beach from outside Bab Doukkala, and the driver will wait while you explore the beach. There are large sand dunes and excellent rock pools to play in.
Children enjoy bartering in the souks, where the stall sellers are much less pushy than in Marrakech. Game of Thrones fans enjoy looking out for locations from the films. They love walking along the fortified walls and enjoying the views. Children are fascinated with the fishermen and the fish market. They will see sardines, pilchards, hake, sole, crab, lobster, octopus, eels and other fish. They can pick their choice of fish and have it cooked at one of the open restaurants at the port.
