Stay by the seashore when you vacation in the charming beachfront Casetta Lumia, near to Menfi, on the west coast of Sicily. This cosy one storey, detached cottage has three double bedrooms, and can comfortably accommodate up to six guests, perfect for a fabulous family holiday, or a group of friends’ sharing. This unique property is set within a fifteen hectare Nature Reserve, populated with local tame wild life, including some very friendly donkeys.
Walk through the botanical gardens, and enter the cottage to be welcomed by a light, bright and airy open plan living space. The seating area has a comfy white sofa, two matching armchairs, a footstool, and a heavy wooden coffee table, all facing a flat screen satellite television, and an open hearth for a fire on those cooler evenings. The country style kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances you will need to cater for your stay, and a table and chairs that’s made for morning coffee. The adjacent dining set to seat six, sits under a handcrafted chandelier, ideal for some splendid indoor entertaining.
There are three well-appointed double bedrooms, all with air conditioning and mosquito nets, and dressed in pretty, white linen. The master bedroom has a double bed and an ensuite shower room with hand basin and loo. The second bedroom has a double bed, and the third a double/twin convertible, and they share a shower room with a hand basin and WC.
Step outside into the gorgeous grounds and gardens, dine alfresco at the pergola covered table, and feast off dishes freshly grilled on the barbeque. Follow the stone path to the bio-design, lake-style swimming pool, bathe on the sea view surrounding sun loungers. Enjoy lunch at the alfresco dining spot, before taking an afternoon nap on one of the double deckchairs. In the nearby nature reserve you may encounter free-roaming wildlife, non-threatening animals including donkeys and cats. Horses belonging to the owners are securely enclosed at a designated distance, and an aviary is situated at the property's boundary. It is recommended that the various gates surrounding the property remain closed at all times.
