Tucked away in the heart of Sorrento, Villa Ricciola is a captivating city retreat where modern comfort meets classic Italian charm. Step through the gates and down into the private courtyard, where terracotta tiles lead to the entrance veranda, bright, welcoming, and perfectly framed by palms and stone walls. Inside, the open-plan living area immediately sets the tone: cool tiled floors, crystal chandeliers, and elegant furnishings that blend timeless style with a sense of home. From here, wander towards the spacious kitchen, where sunlight filters through wide windows onto sleek countertops and an inviting dining table, a place for leisurely breakfasts before heading out to explore the coast. Beyond, the patio opens up for alfresco meals beside the small private pool, a tranquil oasis hidden within the city.
Descending to the lower floor, the villa’s private spa feels like a secret sanctuary: a heated Jacuzzi sunk into pale stone, a sauna glowing softly behind timber doors, and a calm fitness area designed for unwinding. Upstairs, beautifully appointed bedrooms, each with its own en-suite, invite restful evenings. At the top, the terrace opens to a breathtaking panorama, the rooftops of Sorrento giving way to the shimmer of the sea beyond.
- The pool is compact (3.4 x 1.8m; 50cm deep), ideal for cooling dips rather than swimming.
- As the villa spans four floors, guests with limited mobility may prefer using the internal lift.
- Sorrento’s lively centre can be busy in summer; expect an authentic, bustling atmosphere.
- Whilst we recommend hiring a car to be able to easily explore what this beautiful region has to offer, please note that many of the roads along the Amalfi Coast are narrow and very steep.
