Villa Il Concio is a centuries-old Trulli, a typical cone-topped agricultural building found only in Puglia. This stunning home has been lovingly restored, meaning you can experience a holiday in this little piece of history while using all of the modern conveniences and comforts you could need for a relaxing break. Sleeping four guests in the bedrooms and with space for two children in the living area, this home is a flexible space suitable for a family trip or two couples travelling together.
The villa is all set across one floor, and you will find the living spaces and bedrooms within the unique Trullo, which have beautiful, vaulted ceilings plus original stonework and beams. The living room winds around into the dining room, which opens onto the lovely garden, making the home flow nicely and creating a sociable space for coming together in the evenings over a meal or a few drinks. When you wish to turn in for the night, you can choose between two comfortable bedrooms, and two additional children can be accommodated on the sofa bed in the living room.
Outdoors, the garden offers a serene spot to unwind in the sun, whether you wish to rustle up dinner on the barbecue, sunbathe on the terrace or take a refreshing dip in the private pool. The garden is also gated for your privacy and security.
Although the villa sits in a semi-rural area, nestled amidst fields and olive groves, you are not isolated here, and the nearest amenities are a short drive away in the small town of Martina Franca (3km). This town is picturesque, packed with incredible Baroque buildings and a maze-like, white-washed old town. You will find a great range of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants in town, plus the Basilica of San Martino and the gorgeous Ducal Palace, now a museum.
As Puglia is known for its stunning whitewashed Trulli buildings, you may want to visit one of the villages and towns filled with these unique dwellings. Locorotondo is 10km away, Alberobello is 17km away, and both places are packed with Trulli as well as cafés, restaurants and artisan shops. There is lots to see and do in Locorotondo and Alberobello, but as both are relatively small and near each other, you could easily visit both on the same day.
When you wish to head out of the charming towns and towards Puglia’s idyllic beaches, you will find a wide selection. The closest sandy beach is 27km away in Savelletri, or you could try the ancient town of Monopoli, which has some great beaches 36km away from the villa. Monopoli is just next door to the much-loved Polignano a Mare, which is also a brilliant place for a day trip as it is a 42km drive from the house.
