Originally a Masseria, a fortified farmhouse typical of the Puglia region, Villa Ciottolo has been immaculately transformed into a resort-style holiday retreat. It was once a luxury boutique hotel and now offers guests the combination of the privacy of a villa holiday while also still offering hotel-like services should the guests so choose to use them.
Surrounded by olive groves and gardens in a secluded area just outside the culinary town of Ceglie Messapica, the villa offers complete privacy for a group of up to eighteen.
Six bedrooms with en suite bathrooms are distributed throughout the main building, adjacent trullo built with authentic stones and poolside farmhouse conversion annexe.
Ample sunlight will surely draw guests to the expansive sunbathing area with plush sofas and a large pool. It's a great spot for alfresco dining too. There is no better way to end the day than with a quiet drink on the terrace while admiring the impressive and captivating panoramic views. The garden portico is perfect for relaxing to the soothing sounds of chirping birds, and when you want to explore, enjoy complimentary bikes.
Known as Italy’s “sunny heel,” Puglia boasts the longest coastline in mainland Italy. Stunning beaches and turquoise waters of the Apulia seas are within short driving distance, and the famous white washed trulli of Alberobello are within a 20-minute drive too.
- Accommodation is spread over the main building with indoor public areas, adjacent trullo house and poolside annexe, thus providing extra privacy for larger groups
- The secluded location means the villa isn’t ideal for party animals and a car will be necessary to explore the region

In the heel of Italy, not far from the sun-bleached coast of the Apulia seas, this exclusive wedding venue might be described as rustic and authentic with a large sprinkle of luxury, glamour and romance. There are so many stunning places here to tie the knot and celebrate afterwards with all your family and friends; olive groves, meadows, pomegranate trees, the shimmering pool terrace with its exotic palms and the traditional trulli next to the white stoned fortified farmhouse, so typical of the Puglia area. The secluded location provides a wonderfully private retreat in the midst of breath-taking views.
Wedding Reception
There are 3 locations within the grounds where up to 150 people can be hosted. There are 2 gardens and an area by the pool which can be used for the various parts of the day. Dancing can take place in the pool area with music until as late as you like with no noise restrictions.
Wedding Ceremony
A symbolic ceremony usually takes place in the meadow area behind the main building. A civil ceremony might be possible at the town which is 5km from the property. The owners can provide details of an English-speaking celebrant.
Where to Stay
Up to 18 people can stay at the villa. Nearby, there is some accommodation available within the same town as the villa, or up to 200 more people could find accommodation within 10km of the property. The owners can supply details of local transport firm.
Wedding Planning
The venue can suggest a wedding planner or the client may provide their own. The venue is able to give details of suppliers for all aspects of the wedding but does not get involved is any of the planning or organization.
Catering
The venue is able to suggest caterers or the client may provide their own.
Other information
Events may be help between May and September. Marquee hire is required in the case of bad weather – the venue can assist with marquee hire which can be arranged as late as 24h before the event.
Please note that any event rental may be subject to additional charges, venue hire fees and to a higher security deposit, which will be in addition to any published rental rates and fees.
All events are on request only and subject to prior agreement from the owner, who reserves the right to refuse all events without their prior authorisation.
