This beautifully presented former coach house, sleeping up to twelve guests, is a perfect solution for extended families or families travelling together. Enjoying an enviable location tucked away in the corner of the little village of San Marco in Puglia, this coned stone-house Trullo is a real find.
Trullo Le Carrozze has all the benefits of village life with a local bar, ice-cream parlour, shop, chemist and restaurant/pizzeria within five to ten minutes’ walk. Both Brindisi and Bari airports are reached in less than an hour whilst Locorotondo, officially listed as “one of the most beautiful small towns of Italy”, is an easy five minute ride away. The area’s coast and renowned beaches along with breath taking Itrian valley views can be admired from the house.
This is a deceptively spacious high quality furnished property bursting with character. It is full of nooks and crannies and guaranteed to genuinely feel like home for your stay. The communal areas are both warm and welcoming, largely benefiting from a large well equipped kitchen which extends out onto a sociable open plan dining area and lounge. There are four completely private bedrooms and two vestibule bedrooms. Another bedroom is cleverly concealed in a niche.
The outside areas offer different options; there’s a covered terrace with a barbecue for outdoor dining whilst another separate patio area offers a chance to hideaway and unwind with a book. The poolside has plenty of sun loungers for all, so get comfortable and enjoy the views of the countryside and Adriatic Sea.
Younger guests will be kept entertained with the variety of English board games, toys, books, games console and DVD's. In fact, if you’re travelling with younger guests, there is only a handful of similar properties that are as well suited to receive them.
What you should know…
- The open layout and bed configuration is ideal for families with small children or a close adult family.
- Air-conditioning is featured in the rooftop bedroom only. The other bedrooms have 5 feet thick stone walls which keep this property cool in the summer.
- The rooftop bedroom is accessed via an external staircase. There is also a roof terrace, please take care and supervise children.
- Although the house is gated, it is adjacent to a traffic free piazza.
- The Wi-Fi gives connectivity in most rooms, although the traditional stone walls mean the signal may not always reach all parts of the house.

About the surrounding area of Trullo Le CarrozzeTake just a five minute walk from Trullo Le Carrozze to reach the local village shop, with almost everything you might need including fresh fruit and vegetables, bread and wine. Next door to the shop you will find a little cafe, perfect for the morning coffee, lunch and ice creams throughout the day. Also in the local area is a medieval chapel, a pharmacy and a couple of bars and restaurants.
The small town of Locorotondo can be found a short drive away. It is part of the Borghi più belli d'Italia, an initiative created by the Italian Tourism Council to help preserve the tradition and heritage of historical destinations. This region is noted for its stunning countryside, where many of the famous whitewashed pointed roof Trulli villas can be spotted.
Locorotondo has a reputation for producing delightful red & white wines, from the renowned Verdeca and Bianco d'Alessano grapes. The Old Town itself is fine example of baroque architectural, where tight archways and closely built houses are on display. There are also several museums and churches, for those in search of a cultural high!
Locorotondo Railway Station offers visitors to enjoy day trips to the beautiful cities of Bari and Leccce, as well as visiting the Aquaparc Egnazia, Fasanolandia & Zoosafari.
Other nearby towns worth visiting are Cisternino, Martina Franca, Ostuni, Monopoli and Alberobello.

A lovely stay!
We had a lovely stay at the trullo. The house departmentalisation gives good room for private hours when staying in a big group. We loved especially the swimming pool and the village and area is beautiful and the welcoming neighbours. I hope we get a chance to come to Puglia again.

Fabulous Trip!
We were three generations, ten people, celebrating our 50th Anniversary and we had a fabulous stay. The house is charming, rustic as expected of a converted farmhouse but with everything we needed. The jasmine was in full bloom when we arrived and will always be in my memory of Puglia. The central location made it easy to visit many of the lovely towns in the area with a short drive, and having the pool to come home to was great for the kids. The views from the roof deck are amazing, and San Marco is just a five minute walk away, with a well-stocked store and a cafe for morning coffee and pastries and afternoon gelato. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Dinner with Palma was a fun evening, and wine and olive oil tasting at Olimpia with Teresa is not to be missed.

Excellent location and well equipped holiday home
Such an interesting traditional, and yet, well equipped holiday home in a very good location. We were a multigenerational group, and the facilities were inclusive of all our needs - it is obvious the owners have experience of catering for young children, and the poolside kit plus beach towels etc. were really appreciated. San Marco and the local residents, family run shop and coffee bar were so friendly, and the local management team could not have done more to make our stay relaxed and enjoyable. Drivers ferried us around and shared local information, again ever smiling and with good humour. Given age of property condition of furnishing and bathrooms etc was perfectly acceptable, and met our needs.

Faultless
We loved the location, untouristic but everything we needed locally, shop, cafe and restaurant. The roof terrace and pool are excellent as are the villages and towns, within easy reach with bars, shops, restaurants and also the sea! Can't really fault it for a relaxing family holiday ... cool authentic trullo with comfy beds :)

Fabulous
As a large family of 11 people from 74 to 8 years old, this beautiful Trullo was the perfect house for us. Plenty of space for everyone, a fabulous pool and it was full of everything you may need. Just a short walk away from the local shops and cafe/bar. There are plenty of places to visit nearby, our favourite was Alberebello and its Trulli Quarter. A great time was had by all just wished we had stayed longer!

Already Planning a Return Visit!
This wonderful sensitively converted Trulli house was just right for our three generation family gathering of 11 people. The owners and local contact were all very helpful and did all they could to make our stay very comfortable.
San Marco is ideally situated for pretty Locorotondo, the beaches north and south of nearby Fasano, the beautiful towns of Martina Franca, Ostuni and Lecce and of course the UNESCO heritage site of Alberobello. We enjoyed walking through the adjoining cherry orchards, meeting the friendly farmers and of course lazing by the pool in peace and tranquility. The village shop is exceptionally well stocked and the owner is friendly and helpful. The outside pizza oven was easy to use and the children loved the results which were followed by watching the stunning sunsets from the roof terrace.
We couldn't recommend it highly enough and are already planning a return visit. -
Relaxing & Enjoyable
We have returned form a week in Trullo le Carrozze and we had a wonderful holiday. The villa was clean, well equipped and spacious. The location is in a quiet country village with lovely views and a short drive to lots of towns and beaches. The notes from the owner were very helpful in finding our way around. The local shop, 5 mins walk is well stocked and owners are friendly and helpful. The pool was available but too cold at this time of year though we did get to sit by it most days. Overall we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
