Enjoying an elevated position within the cliff-top village of Praiano, Villa Vangelo boasts panoramic sea views along a delightful stretch of the Amalfi Coast.
Beautiful ornaments, patterned Vietri majolica tiles, traditional features and splashes of colour give this villa bags of character and a homely feel. The open-plan kitchen/dining and living area with tiled breakfast bar and fireplace is a great communal area for the whole family to unwind. This space is colourful and bright, combining terracotta tones and mosaic displays with plenty of natural light and white walls. Throughout the entire villa, including its two queen-sized bedrooms, typical local touches meet with modern amenities to create a comfortable and beautiful home.
The standout feature of this villa is without a doubt its vast terrace area offering outstanding views of the rugged coastline and dazzling blue ocean as far as the eye can see. Accessed via a few steps leading down from the house, the stunning terrace features an inviting pool and sun deck with loungers, umbrellas and armchairs. Roman busts add some grandeur while the grassy lawn, vibrant plants and flowers add some greenery and fill the air with heavenly scents. The outdoor kitchen, table and chairs make dining al-fresco easy. What better way is there to enjoy a long meal in the balmy evening air under the shaded pergola as you watch the sun set over the bay?
Set off along the twisting streets from the villa and venture further into Praiano to discover the village’s boutiques, cafes and restaurants. Praiano’s charming beach is just a ten-minute drive from Villa Vangelo. Spend your day relaxing at this pretty cove sheltered by towering cliff faces and lined with multi-coloured fishing boats. There are a handful of trattorias and beach bars nearby and those feeling adventurous can even try out windsurfing.
Hugging the cliffs just twenty minutes away is the enchanting village of Positano, with its picture-perfect buildings, luxurious boutiques and smart restaurants. Other nearby villages worth visiting are Amalfi, Atrani and Ravello with its beautiful gardens. The glamourous island of Capri can be visited by taking a short ferry trip either from Positano or the historic town of Sorrento, which is less than an hour away from Villa Vangelo.
Those interested in history will also relish the opportunity to visit Mount Vesuvius as well as the fascinating ruins of Pompeii.
What you should know…
- Due to its cliff-top position, Villa Vangelo is spread over several levels and there are a few steps down to the swimming pool, terrace and al-fresco dining area
- Please note that the closest free parking to the villa is one mile away and there are approximately 60 steps up to the villa from the closest drop-off spot
- One of the bedrooms is accessed via an external staircase while the other is accessed via a lift - please refer to the features tab for full details

About the surrounding area of Villa VangeloVilla Vangelo is ideally located within the pastel-coloured village of Praiano, nestled on the cliffside and under an hour’s drive from many of the most popular destinations along the Amalfi Coast, including Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi.
Praiano draws less of a crowd than many of its neighbours and as a result it retains the feel of a sleepy and authentic fishing village. There are a smattering of quality restaurants within walking distance of the villa as well as an array of boutique shops offering goods such as jewellery, crafts and antiques.
This seaside village also attracts many walkers looking to set off along the famous ‘Path of the Gods’, one of the most impressive routes along the Amalfi Coast. It’s the perfect way to discover the rugged coastline and ancient villages dotted along it whilst enjoying endless vistas of the glorious Mediterranean sea below.
The small pebbly beach at Marina Di Praia is a ten-minute drive from the villa. Lined with fishing boats of all colours, this charming cove is natural and un-spoilt. Combined with the enticing blue waters, the little bay is a truly enchanting sight.
Take a water taxi or drive just twenty minutes to the beautiful village of Positano. Brimming with up-market restaurants and independent boutiques, combined with ancient byzantine churches, this village is one of the jewels of the Amalfi Coast. The glittering island of Capri is also worth a visit, with its fashionable shops, glamourous yachts and alluring Blue Grotto.
Historic Sorrento is under an hour’s drive from Villa Vangelo. Offering art galleries, lively and atmospheric squares, medieval churches and roman ruins, this seaside town is packed with culture and character. From central Piazza Tasso, veer off onto the main shopping street before sampling some of the local limoncello as you soak in the breathtaking views of the Gulf of Naples.
Looking to pick up the pace? Take a day trip to the exciting city of Naples and discover the masterpieces of Caravaggio in the city’s galleries and the impressive collection within the Museo Archeologico Nazionale, including Pompeiian paintings. The city is known as the birthplace of pizza so be sure to try a slice while you are there!
From Naples, visit the still-active volcano of Mount Vesuvius as well as the ancient town of Pompeii, which was buried in ash following the volcano’s eruption in 79AD. Wandering through the town’s ruins gives a glimpse into the devastation that occurred and is a fascinating insight into Roman civilisation.

From Praiano’s marina you can take part in kayaking and windsurfing courses and excursions or try out water skiing! Taking a water taxi around the bay and along the coastline is a fun way to explore more of the scenery, pausing to visit secluded islands and hidden grottos!
Visit Capri then join a tour to the island’s enchanting Blue Grotto. Lying back in your small guided rowboat is the best way to admire the walls of the sea cave and the dazzling blue light filtering through and reflecting all around.
A guided tour of the ruins of Pompei will prove a fascinating day out for the whole family. Learn about the Romans living in this town prior to the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD, the ensuing evacuation and devastating effects as you wander around the streets, homes and buildings buried in ash and preserved in time.
