Perched above the picturesque harbour town of Amalfi, Villa Madreperla is a masterful transformation of a 13th-century monastery into one of the Amalfi Coast’s most prestigious villas. Accommodating up to 24 guests across twelve luxurious bedrooms, the property perfectly blends historic grandeur with contemporary elegance.

Inside, vaulted ceilings adorned with frescoes, Vietri ceramic tiling, and antique furnishings create a sense of timeless beauty. The villa’s entrance opens onto panoramic balconies before leading to a stately dining room with a handcrafted wooden table and a fully equipped kitchen with walnut cabinetry and high-end appliances. Each of the twelve en-suite bedrooms offers spectacular sea views and refined details such as frescoed ceilings, four-poster beds, and fine Italian linens.

The grand lounge, divided into two stylish sitting areas, features barrel-vaulted ceilings, frescoes, and ornate ceramic floors, opening directly onto a vast terrace. Here, guests can dine al fresco under a covered pergola with a pizza oven or relax on ceramic benches overlooking the coast. The rooftop terrace offers breathtaking views of Amalfi and Atrani, complemented by a rectangular illuminated pool, sun deck, and manicured gardens shaded by native trees.

Just a short walk from Amalfi’s charming harbour, Villa Madreperla offers easy access to cafés, boutiques, and the town’s lively market. With its opulent interiors, cinematic views, and exceptional location, this villa provides a once-in-a-lifetime stay where history, artistry, and Mediterranean beauty converge in perfect harmony.

What Oliver loves...

  • The vast, multi-sectioned rooftop terrace is a magnificent outdoor space. Even with the villa at capacity, there is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy.
  • The beautifully painted ceiling frescoes and Vietri ceramic tiles on the walls and floors showcase the very best in Amalfian artisanal talent.
  • Every bedroom enjoys a stunning view of the garden or sea, whether from a balcony or window.

What you should know

  • Access is from the coastal road with 200 steps, though porter service is available on arrival and departure.
  • The villa is not suitable for those with mobility issues.
  • There is no parking space at the villa, though a public car park is available in town. Spaces cannot be reserved, so we recommend airport transfer from Naples (65km) or Salerno (45km).
  • An elevator is available from the public parking to the path but is subject to an extra cost per use.
  • The pool is not fenced, so small children should be supervised when outdoors.
  • Please note the villa is a part of the nearby Hotel Luna where guests will check in and can use the available services for an extra cost.
  • The villa is available to rent with different capacities, please note that the number of bedrooms accessible to guests will vary depending on the group's capacity.
