Villa Prase is a peaceful retreat located in the hilly interior of Lefkada, offering a secluded environment suitable for couples or small families looking to enjoy a tranquil vacation. The villa features one bedroom, an open-plan living space, and a shower room. While primarily designed for couples, it can accommodate a child with a cot or pull-out bed. For larger groups, other villas in the area may be more suitable.
Inside Villa Prase, guests will find a cosy open-plan living area with exposed stone walls, a high beamed ceiling, and a mix of modern and traditional furnishings. It includes a corner sofa, a feature fireplace, a small dining area, and a kitchenette equipped with basic appliances like a coffee maker, a small fridge freezer, a gas hob, and a small oven. For entertainment, a satellite television and DVD player are available.
The upper-floor bedroom offers scenic views, a beamed ceiling, a wardrobe, and a low double bed with crisp linens. The downstairs bathroom features a wet room-style shower and a built-in sink, complete with towels and toiletries. The villa is designed for those who appreciate simplicity and nature.
Outside, the villa's garden provides stunning sea views and a relaxing atmosphere. The pool area, surrounded by a terrace, lush lawns, exotic plants, and sun loungers, is ideal for cooling off. The garden also includes a shaded alfresco dining area and spots for pre-dinner drinks, enhancing the outdoor experience.
What you should know…
- The villa is simply styled with a mix of modern and vintage furnishings. It offers a small kitchenette rather than a full kitchen
- The upstairs bed is a mattress on the floor. Though comfortable, it is not ideal for anyone with mobility issues
- On request, a cot and/or a fold-out bed can be supplied for one or two children
- If you enjoy hiking or cycling, there are some spectacular trails through the mountains, gorges, waterfalls and charming mountain villages
- There are several wineries on Lefkas where you can enjoy delicious local wines. You can visit Lefkas Earth Winery and Lefkaditiki Gi Winery and when you have had enough of the wine tasting you can move on to the local ouzo!

About the surrounding area of Villa PraseLefkada, also known as Lefkas, is an island characterized by its lush landscape and stunning beaches. Its hilly terrain is dotted with picturesque villages like Lazarata. Visitors can explore the island's trails by hiking or cycling, taking in the scenic views. Notable sites include Skari Mountain with its ancient oak trees, the Melissa Gorge, the Dafni and Kersia water springs, and Elati Mountain. Along these routes, you will come across historic monasteries, small churches, and charming villages. Karya, a mountain village, is known for its bustling central square shaded by a large tree and its traditional Karysaniki embroidery.
Lazarata, situated northeast of Karya and surrounded by cypress trees and mountainous scenery, is the closest village to Villa Prase. It features two significant churches, Agios Dionissis and Agios Spiridonas, as well as cafes, restaurants, a bakery, and shops. The village is encircled by vineyards, olive groves, citrus plantations, and red-roofed houses. Nearby, the quieter villages of Asprogeratkata, Kavallos, and Pinakochori can be found. Organized mountain bike tours offer a unique way to explore the island, sometimes including visits to the neighbouring island of Meganisi. Despite its beauty, Lefkas remains relatively undiscovered by mass tourism.
Beaches near Villa Prase include Pefkoulia, Milos, and Kathisma. Kathisma Beach, facing the Ionian archipelago, features white sand, turquoise waters, and various beach bars and lounges. Pefkoulia Beach is a popular sandy spot near Agios Nikitas and can be crowded during summer. Other notable beaches on the island include Egremni, known for its striking cliffs, and Porto Katsiki, celebrated for its golden sands and captivating landscape. For windsurfing and kitesurfing, Agios Ioannis and Vassiliki are ideal. Nidri Beach offers organized watersports and amenities.
Nidri is the largest tourist town on the island, followed by Nikiana. Nidri provides a wide range of activities, beautiful beaches, and excellent dining options. It, along with Sivota, is popular for yacht charters and island hopping, with excursion boats available to explore nearby islets and secluded bays. Ferries from Lefkas connect to Ithaca and Kefalonia. The Geni peninsula, a short drive or boat trip from Nidri, features the traditional fishing village of Geni, known for its welcoming waterfront tavernas. The medieval Santa Maura Castle is another interesting site.
For wine enthusiasts, Lefkas Earth offers a taste of local wines, often paired with fresh seafood lunches in scenic locations like Sivota or Vasiliki.

Getting There
How to reach Lefkada island
You can easily reach Lefkas by car from mainland Greece, via the bridge connecting Lefkada with Aitoloakarnania. Lefkada island does not have an airport.

Best Suited For: All AgesVilla Prase offers just one bedroom and an open-plan living space. It comes with one double bed but on request, an additional fold-out bed and a cot can be provided for an infant or child under 15 years old.
The villa is located in the heart of this special island with wonderful countryside and sea views and total privacy. The garden is delightful and ideal for families. The pool is lovely too. The villages of Lazarata and Karya are absolutely charming, very friendly and offer some unique shops, cafes and restaurants.
Children love Lefkas’ fantastic beaches and its warm turquoise water. Most of the beaches are backed by a beautiful, verdant mountainous landscape which makes them look even more beautiful. There is a good variety of watersports on many beaches and the sunsets are magical. Porto Katsiki Beach is often called the ‘Maldives of Europe’ because of its immense beauty. Egremni Beach is another much-loved beach. Adventurous older children enjoy kitesurfing or windsurfing at Mili Beach, Agios Ioannis, Vassiliki and at Kathisma, one of the nearest beaches to the villa. Children love paragliding over Kathisma Beach. Nidri Beach is excellent for families. The island is a great place to learn a new watersport. Children also love taking boat trips to the islands including Skorpios, the island owned by the Onassis family.
The amazing Dimosari Waterfalls, also known as the Nidri Waterfalls are worth a visit. There is a delightful cafe for refreshments. The waterfalls are one of the scenic highlights of the island with the water falling into a blue lake framed by huge rocks. Swimming in the lake is lovely.
The Monastery of Faneromeni dates back to the 17th century and offers a wonderful view of the lagoons and beaches around it. Children enjoy lighting candles in orthodox churches. The monastery is also home to a mini zoo with deer, birds, ducks, parrots, squirrels and chickens. Another trip that helps them to learn about the island is to take a tour of the Olive Museum ‘Fabbrica’ which explains the island’s traditional craft, olive oil production. It includes a tasting at the end. Close to the museum is the Kerasia Waterfall, another beauty with stunning views. Along the west coast of the island is the Venetian Olive Grove where you can stroll in the frame of centenary olive trees.
At the mountain village of Karya, close to Villa Prase, children enjoy buying souvenirs from the selection of hand-made puppets and crafts, pretty lace and embroidery on sale. Karya is home to a wonderful Folklore Museum where ancient traditions are recreated. Other museums on the island include the Archaeological Museum of Lefkada and the Phonograph, Radio and Traditional Museum.
