Villa Surflaria is situated in an attractive residential neighbourhood south of Biarritz, conveniently located only 1.2km from the train station and 3.5km from Biarritz Airport. This is a great location for visiting the heart of vibrant Biarritz as well as superb beaches and charming Basque villages.
An area called the Docks of Biarritz (1km) are within walking distance, formerly a 19th century industrial area (where the old tile factories once were), located near the train station. Nowadays gourmands will delight in the little shops and restaurants serving delicious Basque products straight from farms across the region. Look out for butchers, fishmongers, chocolatier, wine merchant, fromagerie and shops selling fruit and vegetables as well as a handful of restaurants.
Spend time in Biarritz town centre (5km), where chic boutiques and bustling cafés lead you to La Grande Plage, a golden sweep of sand framed by the dramatic Atlantic waves.
In the other direction, golf enthusiasts will find their paradise at Golf d’Arcangues (3.5km), set close to the traditional village of Arcangues, where rolling greens meet Pyrenean views, creating an unforgettable backdrop for a round of golf.
Venture further along the Basque coastline to explore the beauty of Bidart (6.5km) and Guéthary (10km), two picturesque villages near the coast where time slows down. Soak in the rugged cliffs, enjoy authentic Basque cuisine, or watch surfers carve the Atlantic waves. Saint-Jean-de-Luz (15km) also awaits with its summer seaside charm, pretty bay and yet more impressive golf courses.
