Between Bidart and Guéthary, with direct access to a vast sandy beach, this beautiful Basque villa with a heated swimming pool enjoys a prime location with the most magnificent ocean views.
Maison Bonne Anse is a unique holiday home with stylish interiors – just step into the open-plan living space to admire artwork on the wall and striking furnishings. Kick back in the contemporary lounge with doors opening out to the poolside terrace, then prepare Basque feasts to serve on the al-fresco dining terrace with incredible vistas towards the beach and sea below.
On the first-floor there’s the impressive master bedroom with it’s own sea-facing balcony and en suite bathroom alongside three further doubles, all with balcony access and their own shower and WC. All four bedrooms on this level are air-conditioned and feature queen-size double beds.
Further open-tread stairs lead to the top of the house, an air-conditioned dorm-style loft with three single beds which could be ideal for children/young teens. Therefore, with four double bedrooms and the attic, Maison Bonne Anse sleeps up to 8 guests and 3 additional children.
Splash around in the heated swimming pool, read a book on the decked terrace or play a relaxing game of pétanque. At the bottom of the garden there is a little gate leading to a path and within a couple of minutes you are on the beach! This vast sandy beach is home to a seasonal surfing school and a small handful of summer restaurants – it’s especially popular in the height of the summer and the sunsets are stunning!
Keen walkers can join the famous coastal walking trail between Bidart and Saint-Jean-de-Luz (a path connecting the beach and the residential road, part of the trail, runs alongside the side of the house) whilst there are some superb cycling routes along this part of the coastline and beyond.
The traditional Basque village of Bidart awaits with its charming restaurants, little shops and Saturday morning market or wander in the other direction towards Guéthary, a delightful historic village so loved by surfers. Of course, the glamour of Biarritz is less than 8km away or head south towards the pretty seaside town of Saint-Jean-de-Luz and neighbouring Ciboure.
Then there’s the historic city of Bayonne and even San Sebastian across the Spanish border, not to mention a wealth of idyllic villages in the hills nearby where you can truly appreciate the character and beauty of the Pays Basque.
