In secluded Vaucluse, surrounded by vineyards with vistas of Mont Ventoux, Notre Rêve is a designer masterpiece nestled in the idyllic nature of Provence.
When cycling across the beautiful landscapes, a family who have visited this region for years fell in love with an old hamlet that they discovered in the hills. It is said that the original tower was an artist’s atelier and that the estate used to attract artists inspired by the scenery.
After a sensitive renovation, Notre Rêve was created by a talented team of Belgian architects and designers. Retaining the ambience of a small hamlet, there are three separate residences which sleep up to 13 guests across seven suites. Historic details have been restored whilst each abode exudes unique style with vintage and hand-crafted furnishings, warm décor, natural fabrics and an exceptional eye for detail. The artistic tradition continues across the domaine with carefully curated art adorning the walls.
Experience Notre Rêve’s understated sense of luxury outside with pretty pathways connecting terraces alongside the Provençal aroma of herbs as you approach the salt-water swimming pool overlooking vineyards and authentic nature. Find a hidden spot for a glass of rosé alongside convivial terraces for al-fresco dining ensemble.
Then there’s the aesthetically pleasing wellness and fitness centre where massages, facials and treatments can be arranged. Indeed, the domaine’s hosts are nearby to allow guests to experience a range of services. A breakfast of fresh bread, pastries, French cheese and charcuterie is served each morning whilst lunches, poolside snacks or evening dinners can be prepared on request – the Italian chef is eager to share his culinary passion and showcase the best regional ingredients. The hosts can also help arrange guided wine tasting, winter truffle hunting and many more activities and excursions.
The Vaucluse region of Provence will enchant you with its natural beauty and authenticity. Here you are surrounded by vineyards, olive trees and pine forests whilst winter truffle hunting is popular in the foothills of Mont Ventoux. Valréas is known for its historic wine production whilst Nyons is loved for its AOP extra virgin olive oil. Look out for wonderful Provençal markets in nearby villages and towns.
Visit some of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’ such as La Garde Adhémar, Le Poët-Laval and Séguret and soak up the extraordinary beauty of the lavender fields of Drôme-Provençal. A little further afield, spend the day exploring the Roman ruins of Orange and venture to the small city of Avignon with its riverside setting and UNESCO World Heritage sites.
