An immaculate villa close to the flower-filled village of Grimaud, Villa Camille is a stunning place to stay whether you simply wish to relax by the heated swimming pool, visit the beaches of the Côte d'Azur or experience the glamour of Saint-Tropez.
The attentive owners of this beautiful residence have designed the villa to their exact specifications with high standards throughout alongside chic décor and attractive furnishings. Their attention to detail is outstanding – the villa is so much more than a holiday home with its elegant lounge, state-of-the-art kitchen with high-end appliances and the most wonderful poolside dining room with a bar, wine cooler and doors opening out to the terrace and swimming pool.
Each of the four air-conditioned bedrooms features its own en suite bathroom including a ground-floor twin and three queen-size doubles upstairs, one of which is the master bedroom with a dressing room and private balcony overlooking the pool and Mediterranean garden.
The poolside terrace is simply idyllic with sun-loungers and the shaded gazebo’s al-fresco lounge, not to mention the garden with towering pines, palms and olive trees which are illuminated at night. Cook meals on the Big Green Egg barbecue and serve in the orangerie-style dining room with hand-crafted doors opening out to the swimming pool to create such a magical ambience at any time of day.
Part of a gated domaine close to a small vineyard, you can reach Grimaud in just over a 5-minute drive, a picture-perfect village with a rich Provençal heritage, pretty shops and galleries, gastronomic restaurants and a famous château with amazing views towards the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Port-Grimaud is also within easy reach, a gem of the French Riviera and known as the ‘little Venice of Provence’ with its charming canals, waterside restaurants and pretty bridges – explore on foot or take a boat tour of this charming little town.
Saint-Tropez is not to be missed, one of France’s most iconic destinations, as well as the exclusive beach clubs of Plage de Pampelonne, or you may prefer the beaches slightly closer to home at Plage de Grimaud and Sainte-Maxime. For a change of scene, venture to the vineyards of La Croix Valmer and the idyllic bays around Plage de Gigaro, yet another captivating part of the French Riviera.

About the surrounding area of Villa CamilleIn the Var department of southern France, Villa Camille is just a 5-minute drive from the historic village of Grimaud and within easy reach of Saint-Tropez and the French Riviera coast.
The villa is located within a private and secure domaine, accessed via an electric gate and home to only nine other detached villas. Driving past a small vineyard and other countryside landscapes, you can reach hilltop Grimaud in just over 3km or head east/south-east towards the beach, Port-Grimaud and Saint-Tropez.
The perched village of Grimaud is loved by visitors for rich Provençal heritage, flower-filled lanes and famous castle with stunning views of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Visit local shops, art galleries and gastronomic restaurants and don’t miss the Thursday morning market in the village.
Down by the coast, the modern yet charming town of Port Grimaud (5km) is a joy to discover on foot or by boat as you explore the waterways, little bridges and beautiful houses – it’s known as the ‘little Venice of Provence’. Soak up the ambience of canal side restaurants and visit its bustling weekly night market that takes place in the height of the summer.
Of course, the allure of Saint-Tropez also awaits around 11km by car or you could take the boat from Port Grimaud. A former fishing village with a glamourous reputation, wander around it’s characterful lanes, dine out in high-end restaurants, admire the yachts in the marina and pick up all sorts of local delights at the twice-weekly market at Place des Lices.
To the south of Saint-Tropez are the famous beach clubs of Plage de Pampelonne (15km), also a paradise for watersport enthusiasts, or you may prefer the wilder shores, coastal hiking trails and vineyards around La Croix-Valmer (13km) - Plage de Gigaro (16km) and Plage de Sylvabelle (14km) are such idyllic bays.
Closer to home, sandy Plage de Grimaud (4.5km) is another fantastic place for sunbathing, swimming, seasonal watersports and summer beachside dining or venture north towards the brilliant beaches around Sainte-Maxime (10km), a lovely seaside resort with a ‘Famille Plus’ designation.
Golf-lovers can play on the nearby 9-hole course and driving range at Golf Up within a 5-minute drive or tee-off at the more prestigious Beauvallon Golf Club (6km) and Golf Club Saint-Tropez (9km). The Polo Resort & Country Club de Saint-Tropez (8.5km) is also within easy reach whilst there are some amazing walking, hiking, horse-riding and cycling opportunities across the Maures hills and beyond.

Whether you choose the sandy shores of Plage de Grimaud, the seaside resort of Sainte-Maxime (with its ‘Famille Plus’ designation) or the glamourous beach clubs at Plage de Pampelonne, there are ample opportunities for swimming in the Mediterranean as well as seasonal watersports and summer beachside dining.
Both nearby Grimaud and Sainte-Maxime feature a tourist road train in the summer months, a great way for tired legs to tour each destination. There are also seasonal boat trips and water-based excursions along this part of the French Riviera with ferries from Port Grimaud to Sainte-Maxime, Saint-Tropez and beyond as well as boat tours of Port Grimaud’s charming waterways.
Near Sainte-Maxime you will find a waterpark, a tree-top adventure centre and mini-golf whilst slightly closer to home is the Azur amusement park, a go-karting track and other family-friendly attractions. Not to mention wonderful family walks, horse-riding and cycling/biking trails by the coast or in the Maures hills.

When did you become the owner?
We have been coming to the area for over twenty years, and had looking for a suitable villa in the Grimaud area for a considerable time.
We couldn't find what we wanted, so eventually we purchased the land and over a few years built our own dream villa.
We designed our villa to have the maximum possible outside space with extensive terraces, a central pool, and a pool room for long lazy lunches and suppers.
Are there any interesting stories in its history?
Several of the antiques are French but were purchased in the UK so they have in effect gone home! We bought the antique marble fireplace in the lounge from an antique shop in Paris.

Must do?
You must visit one of the great chateau in the area to taste the worlds best rosé wine.
Must eat?
Fresh fish in a beachside restaurant at Pampalone is a real must.
Must see?
A visit to the ruins of Grimaud castle is essential, it was founded in the 11th Century, and has amazing views over the golf of St Tropez.

The house is absolutely perfect
We could not leave without saying what a privilege it was being the first family to rent your beautiful house. We have had the most fantastic time - the house is absolutely perfect We felt we really experienced the area visiting Grimaud, Port Grimaud, Saint-Maxime and Gassin - all are well worth a visit. We even went wakeboarding and can recommend Adventure Sports Saint-Tropez who do loads of water sports. We hope the next guests have as great a time as we did.
