Overview of Villa Amalie

What Oliver loves…

  • This villa in the French Riviera can offer any extra services you desire - ask about a chauffeur, party planner, butler, or babysitter.
  • Every bedroom has a private bathroom!
  • The courtyard is an easy, elegant place for a reception - the fountain and open terraces surrounding the space are magnifique!

What you should know…

  • There are no shops within walking distance, so plan for a car hire (or chauffeur service).
  • The nearest airport is 40 km away, in Nice.

In 1904 Lord Amherst of London dreamed up this graceful villa in the French Riviera, situated just off the coast of the Mediterranean. Now you can experience his dream through the lens of a modern renovation; Villa Amalie is equipped to fulfill your fantasy wedding or corporate retreat. Host majestic parties for 160 guests in the 5 parquet-floored reception rooms, or have up to 300 friends dine al fresco in the courtyard surrounded by loggias.

This holiday villa offers you the best of both worlds; the grand staircase, dramatic curtains and chandeliers stand in counterpoint to utterly modern amenities. A fitness room, games room, home cinema, and heated swimming pool (shaded by olive trees and parasol pines) lend a private resort feel. Exclusive services are included with your stay: a security guard, concierge and maid will ease your mind.

It's only 5 km to the port towns of Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël, each with distinct character. Fréjus is an ancient Roman city full of monuments, where there's plenty of fun to be had in Saint-Raphaël (try the Casino Barrière by the sea!). For fine dining, stop by the Michelin-starred Restaurant Stéphane Léger - a worthy adventure outside your heavenly villa.

Please Note:
- The advertised rates are for holiday rentals only. Bookings for weddings, celebrations and other events are subject to additional charges. Please see our "Events" tab for details.
- Discounts will be offered for smaller groups of less than 20 guests not requiring use of all bedrooms. Please enquire.

Interior & Grounds

5 large reception rooms are available with beautiful oak parquet floors, traditional fireplaces and stunning chandeliers. The historic cloisters provide a wonderful location for atmospheric dinners and parties and can seat more than 250 guests for dinner. A home cinema and games room have been installed. This is an ideal location for private film viewings or corporate meetings to be held.

A large, modern family oak kitchen has been newly built with access to the gardens and wonderful loggias, ideal for breakfasts and lunches. This kitchen is also designed as a cookery school and boasts top end kitchen appliances. The property also has a new state of the art commercial kitchen that can cater for more than 400 guests.

The house has a large, new, heated swimming pool, beautifully situated amongst olive and pine parasol trees. Large terracces surround the pool providing a wonderfully tranquil area to enjoy sport or relax. There is a boules area situated in natural provencale countryside.

The residence is air conditioned and heated throughout and WI-FI is provided. All floors are accessible by a modern elevator. The property also benefits from security fences, cameras and on site guardians.

Map, Location & Local Information

The property is a 45 minutes drive from Nice airport and 30 minutes from Cannes. The residence sits in the Esterel mountains and and yet is only 5 minutes from the beaches of the Mediterranean.

The Golf and tennis Club of Valescure is a 5 minute drive and trekking and mountain biking can be organised in the Esterels. Sailing, wind surfing and kite surfing are available nearby at Agay Plage and St. Aygulf. Morag, I will have to echo what everyone has already said. You have been a truly amazing host and we both thank you genuinely for making our stay at Villa Amalie so memorable. Your entire team was fabulous and we experienced nothing but excellence!...Thanks again!

  • Merci Beaucoup

    Posted by Michael on 02/09/2016

Thank you so much for a really wonderful stay. Everything was 5*… As for Vanessa and her lovely family, and of course the most beautiful Janice, what can I say other than merci beaucoup, probable uttered in my inexcusably poor French accent - so sorry for that, I felt so at home and so pampered. My very best of wishes, as ever, Michael.

  • Amazing chateau in a wonderful location!
