Perched above one of Corsica’s most iconic beaches and with sensational sea views from its terraces and infinity swimming pool, Villa Bel Orizzonte is a jewel of a Corsican villa close to the beautiful Plage de Palombaggia.
The vistas are incredible from this air-conditioned holiday villa which has been designed to take advantage of its magnificent setting high above the sea. Start off on the upper terrace, reached via sliding windows from the sea-facing lounge and kitchen-diner, where al-fresco dining and lounging is truly idyllic from sunrise to sunset as you gaze at the everchanging colours of the sky and sea.
You may prefer the peaceful shade of the dining terrace beneath the pine tree, again just off the living room, or seek solitude in one of the four pretty bedrooms, each one with a queen or king-sized double, some with yet more glimpses of the sea. Then gather with your family or friends by the heated swimming pool, set below the villa and perfectly positioned to make the most of the Mediterranean scenery. Another al-fresco lounge a few steps from the pool is a delightful spot for an evening aperitif.
Palombaggia beach awaits below – stroll around 1.3km down the hill (or drive a short distance) to reach this famous beach with its fine sand, crystal-clear sea, summer restaurants and seasonal watersports. Backed by umbrella pines and with orange-hued rocks, there’s no wonder it’s one of the island’s most popular beaches – head out early!
The glamour of Porto Vecchio is 10km by car, a fantastic place for an evening out in its atmospheric old quarter or by the marina, whilst the exquisite town of Bonifacio with its spectacular citadel can be reached in around half an hour.
Find other gorgeous beaches along the southern Corsica coastline such as Santa Giulia, Plage de Rondinara and beyond, head into the mountains and hike through the Forêt de l'Ospédale or take a boat excursion across to the remove Lavezzi Islands, all wonderful ways to experience yet more of Corsica’s extraordinary beauty.
What you should know…
- The villa sleeps 8 guests across four double bedrooms and a double sofa-bed can accommodate in the lounge a further two guests (available on request at an additional cost - please enquire).
- You can walk down to Palombaggia and its beachside restaurants (seasonal only) as long as you don’t mind the hill on the way back.
- Due to the nature of the grounds and villa layout, guests need to be able to safely manage many steps and terraced levels at this spectacular villa.
- Please note that published rates are only valid for the current year. Any bookings for subsequent years will be on request only and correct rates will be confirmed at the time of booking.

About the surrounding area of Villa Bel OrizzonteVilla Bel Orizzonte enjoys an enviable setting perched above Corsica’s iconic Palombaggia Beach with the most sensational sea views, only a 10km drive from Porto Vecchio.
The most energetic of guests could walk down the hill to Plage de Palombaggia, following the road and track for just over 1km (or it’s a short drive, head there early for free parking at the other end of the bay). One of Corsica’s most famous beaches, it’s a beautiful bay with fine sand, large rocks and turquoise-coloured water backed by umbrella pines. It’s a much-loved beach and especially busy in the height of the summer so take advantage of its close proximity and visit early in the morning or as evening nears. There is a choice of beachside restaurants open seasonally as well as summer water-based activities including snorkelling, diving, kayaking, pedal boats and more.
There are many more idyllic beaches to discover around Porto Vecchio and southern Corsica. Plage de Santa Giulia (10km) is especially wonderful and another hot-spot in the summer months, or head towards Bonifacio and Figari for gems such as Plage de Rondinara and Plage de Tonnara, both around a 30 to 40-minute drive away. To the north of Porto Vecchio, Plage de Pinarellu (27km) is worthy of a fantastic day out, especially outside July and August, as is Plage de Saint Cyprien (21km).
Porto Vecchio (10km) itself is a joy to explore as you wander around the medieval old quarter with bustling shops, restaurants and bars, or enjoy a stroll by the harbourside. Boats depart from the marina to take you out to the incredible and remote Lavezzi islands – pack plenty of water and shade for a stunning trip.
The interior of Corsica is also waiting to be explored from the magnificent Forêt de l'Ospédale to the incredible rugged scenery of the Col de Bavella – it’s an absolute paradise for hikers and outdoor adventurists.
A day out in Bonifacio (31km) is a must with its amazing citadel perched above the limestone cliffs and steep staircase leading down to the sea. Admire the beauty of Bonifacio from the sea by taking a boat trip from the marina or make the most of the glorious beaches, summer watersports and walking trails near the exquisite town.

Best Suited For: All AgesIt’s amazing being so close to Plage de Palombaggia, one of Corsica’s most popular beaches! It’s around 1.3km down the hill to the beach (the most energetic can walk as long as they don’t mind the hill on the way back) where you will find white sand and gently shelving turquoise-coloured water perfect for snorkelling. Other summer water-based activities include kayaking, pedal boats and diving.
There are plenty of other beaches within a short drive around both Porto Vecchio and Bonifacio, many offering a variety of watersports. Water-lovers should also look out for boat excursions – an especially wonderful trip is to the remote Lavezzi Islands (with departures from Porto Vecchio or Bonifacio) as well as boat tours of the southern Corsican coastline.
The interiors of the island offer a range of outdoor adventures from hiking and mountain biking to rock-climbing, zip-lines and more. A little closer to home, Parc Aventure de Porto-Vecchio features tree-top trails, nets and go-karts depending on your age.
