Outside, a dramatic swimming pool carved directly into the rock provides a unique focal point, flanked by double daybeds and shaded lounging corners. With a large table for up to 20 guests, a barbecue and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, it’s designed for sharing good food and better company. Located between Propriano and Porto Pollo, Casa Biancu offers proximity to the best of Corsica’s southwestern coast. A ten-minute stroll downhill leads to a beautiful beach lapped by turquoise water, ideal for snorkelling or a leisurely swim, not far from a summer seafront restaurant. In one direction, Porto Pollo’s laid-back cafés and watersports; in the other, Propriano brings harbour buzz and Corsican gastronomy. Inland, mountain villages and hiking trails promise adventure, while the wider region is rich in heritage, from Campomoro’s Genoese tower to the dramatic cliffs of Bonifacio.

• This unique and stunning home is built on a steep hillside with the swimming pool carved into the rock. As you can see from the photos, guests need to be able to safely manage a variety of stairs/steps (no handrails) and some unprotected areas across the steep grounds. Therefore, the house is better suited to older kids/teens.
