Set in a 100-acre estate, the château is a haven of peace where you can recharge your batteries and marvel at the surrounding nature. Take a stroll through the private woodland and look out for owls, deer, rabbits, storks, red squirrels and even the famous kingfisher, then relax by the fishing pond. The heated swimming pool is also a delight or spend time with loved ones cooking up a feast by the barbecue with delicious produce bought from local markets.
The origins of the domaine date as far back as the 14th century and there are two houses where guests can stay – the elegant 4-bedroom château and an inviting guesthouse. In the main château, sleeping 8 guests, rooms have been sensitively restored, thus creating a traditional and warm ambience with beautiful windows allowing light to flood into the home. A guesthouse by the swimming pool offers further charming accommodation for eight guests. Outside of July and August there is the option to book just the main château at a lower rate (in which case the guesthouse will be closed).
Hop on the château’s six bikes and head off for cycle rides through the Marais, some of France’s best preserved wetlands and also an exceptional place for bird-watching, long nature walks and canoeing trips. Cycle as far as the Atlantic coast, perhaps visit the bustling morning market in Pornic or Les Moutiers-en-Retz and discover sandy beaches for a day by the ocean.
Further afield, learn about regional salt production on the idyllic island of Noirmoutier-en-l'Île, also much loved for its stunning beaches, cycling trails and shellfish digging. Or head north to the historic city of Nantes with its artistic vibe and fantastic food scene.
Then there’s the Loire valley and its châteaux and vineyards – bring back a bottle or two to enjoy on your veranda as you gather with family and friends back at Le Domaine Des Hiboux.
- The domaine features a 4-bedroom château (8 guests) and a separate guest house with four bedrooms (8 guests). Please see the 'Features' tab for further details.
- The 8-person rate (not available July/August) includes the château only whilst the 16-person rate also includes the guest house.
- For both rates, an additional 4 guests can be accommodated on single beds (90x190cm), subject to a supplement and on request. Please enquire for more information.
- Stays of less than 7 nights can be requested outside July/August.
- If travelling with children, be aware that there is a fishing pond in the grounds.
- The Electric Vehicle charging point is subject to an extra charge.
- The quiet and non-intrusive owner, her family and a dog live on-site in the gate house by the entrance to the estate.

Wedding Ceremony and Reception
An indoor reception can be organised with a sit-down meal for up to 32 people in the spacious reception/dining room, setting up rectangular or round tables. For apéritif cocktails or a wine reception instead, this space opens to the reading room and gardens.
The château’s front lawn is another wonderful space for your reception. An open tent or marquee hire can be arranged separately.

Please note that any event rental may be subject to additional charges, venue hire fees and to a higher security deposit, which will be in addition to any published rental rates and fees.
