Nestled on a working vineyard, Côtes de Blaye, lies Foy Cottage, sleeping five guests. Foy cottage is a traditionally styled cottage painted golden yellow with light blue shutters at the windows.
Entering the villa on the ground floor, you walk into the main living area, a cosy lounge dining room. With comfy sofas and an old stone fireplace, the cottage is set up to keep you warm in the winter season. Wooden beams lie above the terracotta tiled floor. A wooden dining table is on one side, seating six guests. Move through to the kitchen and breakfast bar. Windows look out over the vineyard to let in plenty of light. The kitchen is traditional in style with beams overhead and white cupboard doors.
The family bathroom is on the ground floor with a shower. The ground floor also has a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer. Heading upstairs you’ll find two bedrooms. The stairs are steep to climb, so be cautious when you are on them. The master bedroom has a double bed, storage, and a view of the vineyard. The second bedroom has three single beds, making this Cottage ideal for families.
The working vineyard Côte de Blaye is in the Bordeaux region and provides the perfect backdrop to your holiday. Foy Cottage has a terrace with outdoor seating and a private garden to relax together under the sun.
Foy Cottage is on the village side of the vineyard, with an uninterrupted view of the vines and estuary in the backdrop. As a working vineyard, you will be able to witness the production of wine, from grape to bottle. Spend an hour walking through the vines and chatting to the owners, asking questions on the process, and discovering what makes the wine from Bordeaux so unique. Foy Cottage is also next to the village tennis courts, available for guest use.
The local village has all your essentials including a village boulangerie, a small grocery shop, butchers and a pharmacy. On Sunday mornings, the village hosts oyster stalls on the main street.

Location
About the surrounding area of Foy CottageNestled on a working vineyard in the Bordeaux region, southwest of France lies Foy Cottage; one of three luxury villas nestled between the vines.
The working vineyard is called Côte de Blaye, a Bordeaux vineyard and a unique location for your holiday. The grape vines are in clay-limestone soil, typical of the region and traditionally, the vineyard produces Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. In recent years, the vineyard has diversified and now grows white grapes to produce Roussanne, Semillon and Chardonnay, giving a broader range. Take a wine tour to see the production of the wine, witnessing the process from grape to bottle.
The grounds of the villa are also home to Two Origins Distillery, producing whiskey. The name derives from combining the company's heritage; French and Irish. Two Origins Distillery produces a unique whiskey that combines the French taste with the traditional whiskey techniques of Ireland: the triple-distilled cask-aged Irish whiskey.
From the villa, there are many clear cycle paths for you and your family to enjoy, stretching from Blaye to Estauliers. Blaye is your local town, home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Citadelle de Blaye. Located on the waterfront, overlooking the estuary Gironde. Designed by the celebrated French military engineer Vauban, Citadelle de Blaye is a fortress offering panoramas over the Gironde estuary. Built in the 17th century, the citadel of Blaye had 1.5km of ramparts, over 30 hectares of fortifications and 1,500 soldiers occupying the fort.
Spend time strolling through its narrow streets and meet the craftsmen, restaurateurs and shopkeepers who dwell in the once-fortified fortress. Tours are also available for those who want to delve deeper into history and enter the underground passages below the surface. The town of Blaye also offers café, restaurants, and shops for you to refresh yourself with, all a bike ride from the villa.
Travelling slightly further away, take a day to visit the picturesque St. Emilion, a medieval village located in the famous Bordeaux wine region. Surrounded by vineyards, St. Emilion has two thousand years of history found in beautiful architecture and monuments. Golden bricks shine in the sunlight as you wind through the village, exploring historic vineyards, cafes and shops.
Spend an afternoon feeling refreshed and head to the coast. The southwest of France is home to the Aquitaine coastline, the longest sandy coastline in Europe, stretching 230 kilometres.
