Take a break from the beach and browse the small shops and market stalls, before stopping for a refreshing drink or bite to eat at one of the restaurants, bars or cafés. Look out for fresh seafood! For the scuba divers, Cape Greco in Ayia Napa is an ideal choice. For a dose of history and culture instead, head to the capital of Nicosia (about an hour and 20-minute’ drive) and check out some of the amazing buildings including Cyprus Museum, Selimiye Mosque and the pretty old town with its sandstone Venetian walls.
By night, Protaras and Nicosia come alive. Try your hand at karaoke or sip on cocktails into the night. If you’re after more livelier nightlife, Ayia Napa is the place to be. It’s one of the party capitals of the world, so there plenty of bars and nightclubs where you can dance till dawn.
