Galena is a beautifully spacious holiday home that’s part of the exclusive Sandy Lane Estate club and which has spectacular views of both the Caribbean Sea and the famous Sandy Lane Golf Course.
The extensive grounds include manicured lawns and patios from where you can take in the wonderful views and soak up the tropical atmosphere. The inside of Galena is just as beautiful, with its tastefully designed and furnished rooms that reflect the laidback surroundings.
There’s a feeling of light and space everywhere you go in this stunning villa. The formal living room is a lovely place to unwind with a book or chat with friends or family. Enjoy the Caribbean breeze as it enters through the numerous doors to the stunning, partially-covered dining and seating terrace. The dining table lets several people enjoy a breakfast with a pretty unbeatable view. There’s a modern and well-equipped kitchen with everything needed for meal preparation and cooking, as well as an island for grabbing a quick coffee in the mornings. Adjacent to the kitchen is a cosy television room with a selection of sofas and chairs for enjoying family movie night. You can also access the outside space from this room.
The four bedrooms all have an ensuite bathroom each and a king size bed or two twins that can be made into a king size bed. The fourth bedroom features two single beds. The views from the bedrooms are fantastic, with the sea in sight from many of them.
Step outside into the extensive gardens that are like your very own slice of tropical paradise, with a range of exotic trees and plants to enjoy. Spend lazy afternoons under a shady tree with a book and appreciate the peace and quiet. The star of the show is the huge, private swimming pool set within a terrace that’s also home to some sun loungers and a small dining area.
What you should know…

- Neither smoking nor vaping are permitted inside

Take the short walk down to Sandy Lane Beach and you’ll be greeted by beautiful golden sand and calm waters that are ideal for both swimming and snorkelling.
Head to Holetown for an enjoyable day out, with the journey there taking less than 10 minutes by car. Here you’ll find an even greater selection of shops and the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre with its upmarket outlets.

At first glance you could be mistaken for thinking that Barbados is purely a beach holiday destination, but you're urged to reconsider this common belief. The island of Barbados is peppered with astonishing landscapes (both coastal and inland), enchanting locals, sublime cuisine, intriguing rums, fascinating wildlife, symbolic architecture and a selection of striking holiday villas.
Delve deep into the history of the island and start your holiday by visiting Sunbury Plantation House & Museum. This former plantation was built in 1660's and the premises are scattered with antiquities that delicately detail a recent history of Barbados. St. Nicholas Abbey also provides an insightful representation of Sugarcane production, Bajan artefacts and a wonderful observation point at Cherry Tree Hill. If you’re keen to visit one of the oldest Parliamentary buildings within the Commonwealth and appreciate the democratic legacy of Barbados, drop by The Parliament Buildings. This neo-gothic congress can be found in Bridgetown and act as a representation of Barbados’s Independence. There is so much history present throughout the island and as a result, Bridgetown and its Garrison has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, which the locals are very proud of.
Great efforts have been made to persevere the natural beauty of Barbados, so if you’re drawn to the exploration of National Parks and multicoloured gardens, it won’t take you long to realise that Barbados is a haven for such paradises! Within the Andromeda Botanic Gardens, Farley Hill National Park, Flower Forest, Hunte's Gardens and Welchman Hall Gully - visitors, and Botanist alike, will be lost for hours admiring these astonishing botanical parklands. Keep an eye out for the Dwarf Poinciana, or Peacock Flower…it’s the national flower of Barbados.
Bajan’s take their food very seriously! If you and your fellow travellers are enticed by the gastronomic aspect of holidaying, we believe you’ve selected the right island. With every aspect of cookery mastered; from pickling to freshly prepared dishes, sweet & savoury, fragrant & spicy and of course, the bountiful choice of seafood. Check out the food stalls in Paynes Bay Church – where vendors exhibit locally made dishes & street food that will scintillate the taste buds. At the end of every working week, locals and tourists both flock to Oistins, for 'Fish Fry Day'. This is a must for those who haven’t undergone the experience! The evening starts with barbecues and then ascends into a joyful party. This caps off a busy few days of work for locals as well as the 'strains' associated with serious holidaying.
Barbados is of course iconic for its Beaches & Rum…so why not bring them together? You will have to go out of your way not to be able to find a beach bar along the west coast of the island, as well as the countless Rum Shops. Yes, you’ve read correctly, Rum Shops! These small and locally run businesses embrace the Bajan spice of life, in liquid form. Very delicious! If you’re searching for something a little more special, take a trip to the east coast and visit Sand Dunes Bar and Restaurant at Windy Hill, for an unforgettable experience.
Barbados is a distinct and striking part of the Caribbean. It’s a great fit for all types of travellers, as the island really does have it all. For a little more information about this delightful island, check out our guide to a remarkable stay!

We rented Fosters House for our family of 8 which included a 10 month old baby. The house was perfect for us all. Great pool and easy access to the beautiful beach. There was more than enough chairs, sunloungers and tables around the pool and on the patio. Great shaded area too. The staff of 4 were lovely. They were very accommodating and helpful
This was our first time to Barbados, we planned it in exceptional detail, taking with us our 3 small children plus grandparents too. Booking somewhere to stay to suit all the needs at first proved quite difficult that was until we found the Galena!! On arrival, quite late in the evening, we were greeted by the marvellous Maxine and the native Natasha who kept the house very clean, looked after the clothes and maintained a lovely environment in which to enjoy and relax. Maxine’s cooking was exceptional, I tasted dishes that were fresh, enjoyable, easy on the palate and just damn right delightful. She was always such a pleasant dynamic to be around. I often would ask how she had created such dishes only to then be shown and talked through such dish. I only hope I can recreate them to such an amazing , delicious standard. The house itself was simply perfect ! Just sufficient room for 8 of us. The location is peaceful and has the most amazing views. There is plenty of room to relax and just do and be yourself. I can truly recommend this place , I just worry that after too many exceptional reviews we will not be able to book back in but if you are considering the house, you will not be disappointed!!
Great Bajan Villa
Thank you for taking such good care of us and letting us stay in this beautiful villa. We had a fantastic time, great thanks to Maxine and Tasha.
Fantastic Location with Lovely Views
It's always a challenge taking the extended family on a holiday. Everyone has different tastes and ideas. This proved the perfect solution for everyone. Maxine and Tasha were the icing on top of the cake. We've never had a chef or a housekeeper on previous trips, and i wasn't sure how it would work. It was fantastic. Maxine sat down with us at the start of the week, and we discussed what sort of food we would like, then we did a trip to the supermarket armed with a shopping list, and Maxine picked up thinks like fish etc. Her cooking was delicious, and presentation fantastic. Tasha kept the Villa spotless all week, and all our laundry was taken care of. These 2 ladies make all the difference in ensuring it's a relaxing break, not just a week in a fantastic location with lovely views. Look out for the monkeys popping in to help themselves to the mangoes on the trees. Car recommended if you plan to get out and about at all.
