Nestled in the rolling Welsh countryside, Vogel House, a Grade II Listed Georgian Manor built in 1799, offers a peaceful retreat in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Located just thirty minutes from Chester, the house is tucked away at the end of a private lane, offering the perfect escape for a quiet getaway, a celebration, or a special event.
As you approach, you’re greeted by the expansive grounds, covering two acres of lush greenery. The panoramic views of the Vale of Clwyd stretch as far as Snowdonia, creating a stunning backdrop. The walled garden, sunken patio, and covered outdoor dining area with a bar offer plenty of outdoor space to relax, dine, or play. The games room invites fun and friendly competition, while the multiple seating areas are perfect for soaking up the views or enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
Stepping inside the house, you’ll immediately feel the blend of historic charm and modern comfort. The spacious interiors are designed to offer plenty of room for guests to spread out. The large dining room, with its open fire, is ideal for memorable meals, while the cosy snug with a log burner is perfect for a quiet evening by the fire. The airy garden room, with its far-reaching views, invites you to unwind in comfort, and the sitting room, bathed in natural light, provides a perfect space for relaxed conversations. A practical boot room, cloakrooms, and laundry room ensure your stay is as convenient as it is relaxing.
The heart of the home is the generous kitchen diner, featuring a large island, double Belfast sink, and a contemporary log-burning stove. The handmade kitchen is equipped with everything you could need, from the electric Aga and walk-in pantry to the two dishwashers. It’s an inviting space for family meals, with a table large enough to seat twelve.
Upstairs, the six double bedrooms are beautifully appointed, each offering peaceful views of the surrounding countryside. The master bedroom, with its super king four-poster bed, large dressing room, and en suite bathroom, is particularly special. Two other rooms feature en suite showers, while the remaining rooms are equally charming, offering cosy retreats for every guest.

In an idyllic setting overlooking an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this historic Grade II listed house is the perfect backdrop for your special day. Every season brings its own charm and the views of the valley are always magnificent.
A small gathering can be hosted inside, perhaps by the roaring fire, or organise a larger party across the two acres of grounds – the owners can put you in touch with a range of suppliers to ensure you design the most memorable day. End your event with fireworks (noiseless so not to disturb the farm animals nearby) and create the most magical ambience before retiring to your 18th century home with its master bedroom, four-poster bed and romantic freestanding bath.

There is a flexible layout for combined ceremony and reception.
Please note that Vogel House does not have a license for ceremonies, however it is possible to have a celebrant ceremony post registry office.

Where to Stay
Vogel House sleeps up to 14 guests. The other 36 guests (maximum) at the wedding are day guests only.

The venue is not easily accessible by public transport – guests may need taxis. There is parking on site for up to 20 cars. There is limited accessibility for wheelchair users – please enquire.

Please note that any event rental may be subject to additional charges, venue hire fees and to a higher security deposit, which will be in addition to any published rental rates and fees.
All events are on request only and subject to prior agreement from the owner, who reserves the right to refuse all events without their prior authorisation.
