Wisteria Cottage holds a wonderful location nestled amongst beautiful Somerset countryside, set in a quiet spot on a private road, guests of the cottage will enjoy peace and quiet with a number of lovely walking and cycling routes reachable on foot directly from the doorstep! While the location is ideal for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, the town of Ilminster with its helpful amenities, including shops and restaurants, is less than a five-minute car journey away.
In recent years, the Grade II listed cottage has been lovingly modernised and today boasts contemporary interiors and elegant furnishings throughout, while managing to retain its original character and charm. Wisteria Cottage can comfortably accommodate up to six adults and two additional children across its four well-appointed bedrooms.
On the ground floor is the warm and welcoming living space which comprises of an open-plan kitchen and dining area, a cosy lounge with wood-burning stove as well as the first of the bedrooms, a super-king double room, which can be set up with twin beds on request, and an en-suite wet room. Upstairs, on the first floor are a further two bedrooms, the first, a super-king bedroom, that can also be configured as a twin, with an en-suite shower room. The second, a superking double room with freestanding nickel bath and walk-in shower, provides access to the fourth and final bedroom, a twin room located on the second floor, together these rooms are ideally suited to a family with young children.
Outside, the children will love running around and playing games on the lawn. The sunken patio area comes complete with dining facilities and a charcoal barbecue and makes the perfect spot to dine al fresco on a sunny evening! there is also a magnificent wood-fired hot tub, perfect for relaxing and admiring the countryside views at any time of the year.

What you should know…
- The twin bedroom is accessed through one of the double bedrooms and while this may suit families, it is not ideal for four couples holidaying together!
- While the ground floor bedroom is ideal for those who are less mobile, they should be aware that there are two internal steps on the ground floor and so it is not entirely step-free

Location
About the surrounding area of Wisteria CottageWisteria Cottage is located on a private road, with only one other manor house sharing access. The road is a bridleway and footpath and leads to a large area of parkland, leading onto a variety of other walking and cycling routes – perfect for families who want to enjoy the great outdoors!
There are a selection of excellent pubs in the vicinity, such as the Dinnington Docks, Lord Poulett Arms, or Five Dials. We also recommend the micro-brewery at Stocklinch – Stocklinch Ales – which is open for visitors on Friday evenings after 7pm and Sunday lunchtimes.
Barrington House, a National Trust house with gardens open to the public, is nearby, as is Dillington House. The Dennis Chinaworks in Shepton Beauchamp are also very close and worth a visit, for the tea rooms as much as anything else.
There are several local cider producers whose orchards and presses are worth seeing, Perry’s Cider in Dowlish Wake being one, and Julian Temperley’s cider and cider brandy distillery over at Burrow Hill another.
A little further away the beach at Lyme Regis and walks along the Jurassic coastline are 40mins or so to the South, and the Hauser and Wirth gallery near Bruton is 40 mins or so to the East.

An amazing weekend!
We couldn’t imagine the cottage being as lovely as it was, it way exceeded our expectations!
The quality of fixtures and fittings, furniture etc were all excellent, and made cooking in the kitchen a pleasure!
The place was spotlessly clean and had absolutely everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing weekend away.
The bath also proved to be very popular – there was a queue to use it!!
The location is stunning and we genuinely couldn’t fault it in any way.
We had an amazing weekend, and would love to return in the very near future. Thank you for sharing your lovely property with us. -
We were delighted
I can honestly say that my whole family were absolutely delighted with the accommodation!
It met all our needs and beyond right down to the dry logs waiting to be used for the burners.
The attention to detail was outstanding along with the very high quality soft furnishings such as interlined curtains, excellent mattresses and pristine bedding, towels and robes in all rooms! -
