What you should know…

  • Those travelling with young children should ensure they are not left to explore the grounds alone due to the direct access to the Loch
  • Guests staying in the upstairs bedrooms would need to use one of the family bathrooms' on the ground floor
  • The stairs leading up to the top floor bedrooms is quite steep
  • The house is conveniently located directly next to Duck Bay hotel and car park. However the house still feels very private.

Luxury self-catering holiday accommodation in Loch Lomond

There is something so romantic about staying in one of Oliver’s Travels luxury properties overlooking Loch Lomond, a breathtaking freshwater lake that spans over 24 miles in length. Nestled within the stunning landscapes of the Trossachs National Park, the loch is the largest inland stretch of water in Great Britain and a haven for nature enthusiasts, history buffs and adventure seekers.

The surrounding hills and mountains strike a pose, creating a mesmerising backdrop. Standing tall and majestic, is Ben Lomond, the loch's very own celebrity peak. Hiking up ends with a reward of panoramic views that will make your jaw drop. The charming towns and villages that sprinkle the shores of the loch like confetti include Balloch, the southern sweetheart and the gateway to Loch Lomond. It throws open its doors to visitors with the flair of a Scottish welcoming committee. You can take a loch cruise or explore the Balloch Castle Country Park, where 19th-century castles, gardens and woodlands play host to leisurely strolls and family picnics.

Further north, the village of Luss is so well-preserved it is like a postcard got stuck in a time warp. 18th-century cottages line the shores, offering a glimpse into Scotland's architectural wardrobe. The Luss Pier is your ticket to a boat tour extravaganza, discovering islands and hidden coves like a true Scottish pirate. Balmaha's got your back with a gateway to Inchcailloch Island. Burial grounds, scenic trails and centuries of Scottish history await.

Loch Lomond isn't just for romantic strolls. It is a water wonderland with sailing, kayaking and fishing on the agenda. Inchmurrin, the largest inland island in the British Isles, is your tranquil escape. Anglers can fish for salmon, trout and perch, while thrill-seekers can dance with the wind on a windsurfing or waterskiing escapade. Loch Lomond is also a golfer's dream. The Cameron House Golf Course offers views that could distract even the most dedicated golfer. Who can focus on putting when the loch is winking at you?

Loch Lomond isn't just a place, it is a romance novel waiting to be written. Whether you are soaking in the tranquility of the lake, enjoying a delicious waterside meal, taking to the water or unleashing your inner highlander, Loch Lomond captures the essence of Scotland's enchanting landscapes with a touch of luxury and a dash of fun.

Ah, bonnie Scotland! A wild and beautiful part of the world, where you can explore the rugged highlands or enjoy the colour and vibrancy of cultural capitals like Edinburgh and Glasgow.

But how do you know you’re getting the very best out of your trip? That’s where we come in. If you’ve had a browse through our range of luxury cottages and castles in Scotland, you’ll know there’s some great places to stay, but to find all the great things to do, see and eat you’ll need our handy Scotland travel guide  – so read on and enjoy!

Owner Profile

How long have you owned the property?
4 years

What was it about the property that you first fell in love with?
Looking out from the living area, the view across Loch Lomond is stunning and looks so different during the changing of the seasons.

Do you have a favourite room in the property?
The living area with the dual aspect glass wall of bifold doors never fails to impress, no matter how many times I see it.

For anyone coming to stay is there anything in the surrounding area they should...

Really do?
The scenery is so great that a simple walk in the fresh air can be overlooked but it really is special. For the more adventurous, there are plenty of water sports available on Loch Lomond and for something someway in between, "the wee demon" golf course is a great way to spend a few hours.
Really eat? I thoroughly enjoy the Boathouse restaurant at Cameron House,  with a casual atmosphere & great food.
Really see? The unspoilt scenery all around.  Thoroughly recommend bringing a camera!!

What insider tip would you pass on about the property or the area?

No matter how cold it may be outside, the hot tub is a MUST do!!

Great location on the loch. Great property.

  • Stunning luxurious lodge with beautiful views

    on 03/05/2022

Wow! What a find! This lodge is absolutely stunning, set along the banks of Loch Lomond with its own private beach. The decor is high end and tastefully done and has everything you would need. The bifold doors open out completely on both sides to give stunning views across the loch, just perfect for hot sunny days. The hot tub is a bonus! Only a short walk, you can access Duck Bay Marina and Cameron House. We also used the Cameron Club Spa and a courtesy bus takes you there if you need it! Loch Lomond shores is also only a 10min walk away. I have no hesitation in recommending this place and look forward to returning again soon!

  • Gorgeous lodge

    on 03/03/2022

Gorgeous well looked after lodge in the most amazing location. The lodge was very clean and of a high standard. A few minute walk to Cameron House Hotel and we made good use of the facilities there as the weather was not so good.

  • In heaven!

    on 01/04/2019

Only a few short weeks ago, we enjoyed a long weekend at Cameron North Lodge. The interior and upgrade of the buildings is absolutely breathtaking and provided us with a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The level of luxury in every room is astounding and with a Bose sound system throughout ......we were in heaven! The hot tub was the piece de resistance of fun and relaxation for all our family with a view across one of Scotland’s gems, Loch Lomond. The proximity to Duck Bay and Cameron House Hotel, when completed, provides a variety of establishments to be fed and watered in, but the high quality kitchen and dining self catering element of the Lodge, would mean one would actually never have to leave. And why would you want to? Cameron North Lodge does everything it says on the tin.....and a whole lot more!

  • Great little get away

We had a great stay at the Cameron North Lodge. It's a very well equipped place with access to 5 star facilities. Great location to explore the area for a week.

  • Fabulous week on Loch Lomond

    on 04/08/2017

Spent an amazing week with 4 generations of the family In late July. Loacation fantastic as was the accommodation definitely has the wow factor. We all enjoyed the added benefits of having access to the Cameron house hotel facilities and also the close proximity of the Duck bay hotel. An ideal spot for a relaxing family holiday or celebration with friends, luxury accommodation with amazing views , fantastic facilities and location.
5 stars all round. Even 5 days of constant rain couldn't dampen our spirits or desire to return .

There is only one word - WOW! well maybe two words WOW WOW. Absolutely stunning property with decor and furnishings to match. The location and outlook is picture perfect. In fact I probably shouldn't give it a fabulous review as I plan to rent it out again and take up squatters rights!!

  • The perfect Scottish retreat!

    Created on 19/05/2017

I had the pleasure of spending a night in The North Lodge on the banks of Loch Lomond, what a welcoming, comfortable stay. The owners have thought of everything so it was easy to simply relax and enjoy the beautiful accommodation and setting. Would recommend The Cameron North Lodge for anyone wishing to retreat from city life, either for business or pleasure!

  • Five star stay

    Created on 15/05/2017

We stayed in this property with friends the weekend of 28 April and had a fantastic time. This newly converted lodge is stunning both inside and out. Location is perfect situated between duck bay marina and Cameron house hotel as well as sitting right on the bonnie banks. Outside space is fantastic for both adults and children with the added bonus of a hot tub with a view to die for over the Loch.

  • Truly an idyllic place for a relaxing break

    on 14/04/2017

Cameron North Lodge is excellent. It is sumptuously fitted out and combines ultra-modern facilities with the historic attraction of a listed building, set in its own gated private loch-side frontage. We really enjoyed staying there, especially the hot-tub - truly an idyllic place for a relaxing break. A rare offering on historic Loch Lomond.

  • Incredible house with the Wow factor!

    on 10/03/2017

A definite Wow factor, finished to a high standard and beautifully presented. The view is stunning (even from the hot tub) with great facilities both onsite and nearby. We would definitely recommend and plan to return again.
