5. Step into an old mine at Big Pit

6. Go stargazing with Good Day Out

7. Visit Ramsey Island with Voyages of Discovery

Skim at high speeds in a motorboat through the waters near St. Davids, heading out to the bird sanctuary of Ramsey Island. This reserve is a hangout for puffins, guillemots and the rare shearwater as well as other seabirds. In addition to the feathered island inhabitants, it’s not uncommon to spy the odd whale, dolphin pod or even a shark during the boat trip. The Tin Shed is a museum with a difference. Once you step into the corrugated metal hangar in which it is housed, you’ll be transported back to the 1940s. The museum is the product of two avid collectors of historical memorabilia, so inside you’ll find all sorts of ephemera from wartime Wales, as well as displays on the events of the war. You can also visit a lovingly reproduced replica of a World War II bomb shelter.
