Following the forest road through the estate, the hotel is less than five minutes away by car. Here you have complimentary use of the hotel’s swimming pools, tennis court and fitness room as well as the option to arrange spa treatments, massages, cookery lessons and wine-tasting. Book ahead to dine in one of the upmarket restaurants including Le Jardin de Berne with its Michelin star (gastronomes also take note that Chez Bruno is just a 10-minute drive away).
The hotel’s huge estate of vineyards, forest and roaming animals is perfect for hiking and biking or explore further afield for more walking and cycling opportunities as well as river-based activities along the Argens. Outdoor adventurists will also appreciate being around an hour from the incredible Lac de Sainte-Croix and Verdon Natural Park.
Closer to home is the authentic village of Lorgues, 3km away, home to one of the Var’s largest markets on a Tuesday morning. There are plenty of other pretty villages to explore from Flayosc and Salernes to La Garde-Freinet and hilltop Grimaud, passing captivating natural scenery as you drive.
Continue south to the French Riviera – Saint-Tropez is around an hour away or you may prefer the family-friendly shores of Sainte-Maxime on the other side of the bay. Not forgetting sophisticated Saint-Raphaël, historic Fréjus and other Côte d’Azur gems including Cannes, Bandol and Cassis.

Bastide Des Rêves is set within the vast estate of a prestigious 5* hotel and wine château near the Provençal village of Lorgues.
This is the Var department of southern France, around a 45-minute drive from the French Riviera coastline. Fly into Toulon Hyères Airport (75km) or Nice Airport (92km), both just over an hour away. One of the nearest train stations is Les Arcs-Draguignan (16km) with TGV arrivals from Paris.
Driving through the beautiful estate, it is just 3 minutes to the grand hotel which boasts an excellent reputation for its wine and gastronomy. Guests have complimentary use of the hotel’s tennis and pétanque courts, fitness room as well as two outdoor swimming pools. Book into one of the estate’s gastronomic restaurants from Michelin star fine dining to summer meals on the terrace and a family-friendly gourmet bistro for lunch – check in advance restaurant opening days and times. Furthermore, you can upgrade to make the most of the indoor swimming pool and spa, arrange cookery lessons and of course tour the famous vineyard and partake in wine tasting sessions.
What’s more, the hotel’s vast estate is perfect for hiking and mountain biking as you pass farmland with animals roaming free, vines, woodland and the river – bike hire can be arranged at the hotel. Beyond the estate, outdoor adventurists will love horse-riding and yet more walking, hiking and cycling opportunities nearby as well as canoeing, kayaking and other water-based activities along the Argens River near Vidauban (13km) or further afield across the Verdon Natural Park.

Just 3km away is the authentic village of Lorgues, famed for its vibrant Tuesday morning market, one of the largest in the Var department. Other charming villages close by include Flayosc, Tourtour and Salernes, all around a 15-minute drive away. A little further north is Aups (20km), the gateway to the Verdon Natural Park whilst the incredible Lac de Sainte-Croix can be reached within an hour by car.
Heading towards the coast instead, there are so many fantastic destinations to choose from. Saint-Tropez (53km) will possibly be high on your itinerary, perhaps combined with a stopover in the flower-filled village of Grimaud (42km) or La Garde-Freinet (32km). Then there’s the family-friendly beaches of Sainte-Maxime (44km), the sophisticated seaside resort of Saint-Raphaël (43km) and historic Fréjus (41km) with its sandy beaches.
Cannes (75km) is just over an hour away whilst wine-lovers may prefer to venture west to experience the vineyards and French Riviera ambience of Bandol (92km) and Cassis (96km).
