Well-situated in the ancient northeastern town of Pollensa boasts attractive narrow streets, and an impressive main square (Placa Mayor) lined with cafes, restaurants, and bars. Be sure to dip into town on a Sunday when the market is on.
The town has lived many different lives over the centuries. During the 20th century it became a colony for artists, writers, and musicians, who settled in the town with love for its inspiring natural beauty and laid-back lifestyle. Climb the “small” Puig Mountain, which is 330m high and can be easily climbed within an hour. Mighty holm oaks shade the pathway on the way up. The summit’s panoramic views are utterly stunning, as is the small monastery.
