Villa Bajo Mino is located on the Baiona coast in the province of Pontevedra. Baiona is a popular summer resort with a medieval historical centre. Compared to the rest of Galicia this area has a warmer and drier climate. The villa is located a 4-minute drive from Baiona town centre and a 30-minute drive from Vigo airport. The villa is right near the sea and has breath-taking views of the Cies Islands. Villa Bajo Mino can accommodate up to twelve guests and is a fantastic place for a family holiday or a large group of friends to get away together.
This large luxurious villa looks like a small Spanish palace and has a mix of modern and traditional decor, throughout the house you will notice the wooden beams on the ceilings which give it great character. The property is set over three floors and has a total of six bedrooms and four bathrooms. There are two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and four twin rooms with two bathrooms to share. The bedrooms are light and have a classical look to them. There is a baby cot available at the villa.
There are two lounge areas with plenty of comfy sofas and seating, the larger lounge has a beautiful stone fireplace for you to get cosy in front of. There is a big dining room and a fully equipped kitchen ready for you to use. The first floor is surrounded by a large stone balcony which has comfy seats, perfect for sitting back with a drink in your hand while admiring a beautiful sunset over the sea. The outside of the property is just as astonishing, the villa has a grand porch with tables and seating, there is also an additional dining table and chairs on the grassed area closer to the sea view, here you will be able to eat out and make the most of the warm summer evenings. The villa's garden is beautifully kept and spacious, there is a private pool measuring 12x7 metres perfect for a relaxing swim and loungers and umbrellas are in the area ready for you to lay back and soak up the sun. The stunning panoramic views of the ocean and islands and the fresh sea air make this villa a little paradise of its own.
Some little extras worth mentioning are the private onsite parking and Wi-Fi access throughout the property. This villa is also pet friendly so even your four-legged friend gets to join you on this lovely holiday.

Villa Bajo Mino is located on the outskirts of Baiona town in the south west of Galicia. Baiona is a tourist area that is known for its fishing industry. There are several restaurants to choose from around the villa but if you fancy heading in to the town centre it is a 4-minute drive or a half an hour to walk. In town you will find plenty of shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants. Don't forget to try some delicious Galician cuisine, as the area is known for its fish and seafood dishes.
Baiona old town is a lovely place for a stroll with its narrow-cobbled streets and traditional Galician terraced houses. There are a few places of interest that are worth visiting, Monterreal Castle located on the edge of town offers stunning views of Baiona and its surrounding coast. Carabela Pinta museum gives you a chance to climb aboard a replica of one of Christopher Columbus' fleet, the arrival of La Pinta caravel in 1493 at Baiona port made it the first port in Europe to receive the news of the discovery of America. Virxe da Rocha is a 15-metre-high granite monument of the Virgin Mary, this impressive statue is located on the coast through a scenic park, make sure you climb up the narrow staircase onto the stone boat for the best views! From Baiona there are plenty of boat tours to choose from including trips to the popular Cies Islands, within 45 minutes you can reach the stunning sandy beaches with clear water, it is like a small paradise perfect for a scenic stroll or to lay back and relax. Ladeira, Barbeira and Ribeira beaches are all located close by in Baiona. These quiet sandy beaches have calmer and warmer water compared to others in Galicia and offer lovely views of the islands and fortress.
If you fancy a day trip to a bigger city then why not explore Vigo, it's located at only 35 kilometres from the villa. In the old town you will find Santa Maria church, the oldest of the city churches with several of the original streets stemming from it. The climb to the top of Monte O Castro is worth it for the stunning views, here you can also visit the ruins of a Celtic settlement and the 17th Century Castro Fortress.

Like many parts of Spain, Galicia has its very own identity that has remained intact through its regional dialect and distinguishing culture. Although Galicia is recognised for its holy traditions, we urge budding tourists to also consider its astonishing green countryside & rivers and its UNESCO World Heritage sites. Occasionally you may even hear the gentle tootling of bagpipes, known locally as the Galician Gaita, along this northern corner of the Iberian Peninsula.
You're likely to fly into Santiago de Compostela, which is the capital of Galicia and is probably best known for the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage and its route. Many of the travellers embark on this journey by foot and tend to be mesmerised by this fine city at the end of their trek. Casco Viejo, or the Old Town, is a good place to end or even start your holiday. This area of the city is blessed with markets, restaurants, bars and buildings from a bygone era. After exhausting yourself in the busyness of the city, take a day trip to Praia de Rodas. This small island, just off Vigo, has been noted as having some of the best beaches in the world. It has to be seen to be believed!
Galicia is divided into four key regions; A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense and our favourite – Pontevedra. A Galician proverb states that Pontevedra gives water to travellers. We firmly believe this to be true, as this particular part of Galicia has everything a traveller could need for an unforgettable experience and it almost feels like this City is constantly giving back. Whilst you holiday in Pontevedra you will realise that days are structured around mealtime. And why wouldn't they be? With some of the best seafood you will experience in Spain and the noteworthy Albariño wine, you may notice your jeans feeling a little tighter toward the end of your holiday. You will be glad to know that your waistline need not be a cause for concern though! Pontevedra is blessed with some of the best hiking trails, medieval monasteries, estuaries and valleys within Spain. Don't forget about the coastline either! Rarely you will you find so many empty beaches, so make the most of this privacy and just embrace the nature around you.
Galicia is still an unspoilt part of the world. It has everything a diverse group of friends & family need to have a glorious adventure.

Great views of the sea, the islands and the sunset
Beautiful garden and position. The bedroom and bathroom arrangements were ideal for our party, with the lounge floor separating the two bedroom areas. The daily delivery of bread was great, as were the luxury bathroom products and linen. We alsotook advantage of the different sitting areas outside: there was always somewhere in the shade. We also liked the direct access to the shore and the rock pools.
