Overview

Pool Villa/House Beach Nearby Ideal for Kids Parking Space

With a selection of pretty towns, the city of Ostuni and countless sandy beaches within a short drive, Villa Amendola offers guests a wonderful base close to many of Puglia’s best-loved towns and attractions. Sleeping ten guests, this tastefully decorated villa is a fantastic home-from-home for a trip with a group of friends or family.

The home is surrounded by olive and citrus groves, with just a few other houses nearby. You approach the villa through the extensive landscaped grounds, which provide privacy and plenty of space for guests to relax in the sun. When you reach the home, you will see a traditional whitewashed building with two towers. These towers each contain separate dwellings which offer five bedrooms between them.

The main villa is the larger of the two buildings offering a large room in addition to a tower; here, you will discover a vast open-plan space with a modern, fully-fitted kitchen, a large dining area and built-in seating. This part of the home has three double bedrooms, two bathrooms and access to a covered terrace furnished with outdoor sofas, the ideal spot for delving into your favourite book. Just a few steps away, but with a separate entrance, is the second dwelling known as the tower. The tower is set over two floors and is home to the two remaining bedrooms, two contemporary bathrooms and an open-plan living and dining space equipped with a kitchenette.

Wherever you choose to sleep during your stay at Villa Amendola, you are sure of a restful night as the villa has five bright and airy double bedrooms which are air-conditioned and look out over the garden. The home also has Wi-Fi, central heating, TVs and a washing machine, so you will have everything you could need.

Outdoors, guests staying in each of the dwellings can spend time together in the spacious garden, which centres around an inviting, private swimming pool. The garden has plenty of sitting areas and a covered dining space, so you can always fire up the barbecue and enjoy a meal al fresco together on a warm evening. From the terraces, you can also glimpse the nearby sea!

If you would like to spend your days delving into local history and trying some delicious regional delicacies, there are a wealth of towns, cities and villages within a short drive of the villa. These include the ancient town of Carovigno, 7.5km away, the beautiful city of Ostuni, 16km away, and the town of San Vito dei Normanni, 8.5km away.

As well as being packed with incredible towns and cities, Puglia is also renowned for its beaches, the closest of which is just 4km away in the coastal village of Specchiolla. After sunbathing on the beach, you can also dine here at one of the sea-view restaurants. Another option is to spend the day in Savelletri, which is 36km away and has some of the area’s finest beaches and world-class golf courses.

Overlooking a rural landscape filled with ancient olive trees and yet only 4km away from the nearest beaches and restaurants, Villa Amendola is a wonderful place to stay for getting to know Puglia.

Though located inland amidst farmland and olive groves, you can discover the stunning coastline just 4km away. For a good selection of beaches and beach-side restaurants, you should head to Specchiolla, a coastal village. Here you will find serviced lidos with bars, eateries and sun loungers, such as Lido Tizania and long sandy beaches like Spiaggia di Morgicchio. If you need to pick up some groceries, there are a few small shops and a supermarket here too. If you head further up the coast, you can also spend the day exploring the rugged coast, marshlands, sand dunes and signposted trails of the Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve. The gorgeous protected area also contains unspoilt beaches where you can unwind for the day.

As well as idyllic beaches, Puglia offers historic sites, vineyards and golf courses, which can all be reached within 10km of the home. If you want to do souvenir shopping or dine out in the evening, you will find countless villages and towns within easy reach of the villa. One lovely town you could explore is Carovigno, located 8km away. Carovigno is a charming place known as the town of flags due to the local custom of flag waving. As you wander around the pre-Roman town, you may see locals dressed in historic costume, practising for performances held in honour of Madonna del Belvedere. These performances are a delight to see and have been held for over 1000 years. You could also visit a fresco-filled cave sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna just a few km away. As you stroll around the town, you will see an imposing castle which can be visited on a guided tour and pretty medieval arch ways. The bustling, palm tree-lined squares of the town are also filled with all the amenities you would need, such as cafes, bars, restaurants and shops.

Another town worth exploring is San Vito dei Normanni, just 8.5km away. This town has a rich history, stretching back to 1800BC and is packed with archaeological sites and beautiful Baroque buildings added much later. San Vito dei Normanni is an authentic Puglian town where you can sample delicious local cuisine in a tucked-away trattoria. If you would prefer a lively city with international restaurants, streets filled with busy market stalls and clothing boutiques, why not visit Ostuni, a hillside city just 16km away. Known as the White City because of how its whitewashed buildings dazzle in the sunlight, Ostuni is a much-loved place to visit, with plenty to see and do. Some must-see attractions include the amazing Gothic cathedral, the archaeological park and the civic museum.

  • A great place to stay in Puglia!

    on 10/06/2022

A beautiful, clean villa in a great location. We had a wonderful time at the villa which was in easy reach of lots places to visit given the large area of Puglia. The hosts were great and very accommodating. Our flight was delayed and we arrived very late but someone was there to greet us at midnight. They also helped us out with any requests we had. The villa was really well equipped and beautifully styled with lots of areas to lounge around. The pool was great too- our children spent most of the day in it. All in all a great place to stay in Puglia.
