Occupying a quiet, leafy spot close to several charming villages within the countryside that surrounds Lake Maggiore is restful Casa Visconti. Enjoy the relaxation that this retreat offers, with a large, beautiful garden for total peace and tranquillity. Country walks and cycling are on the doorstep here, with Lake Maggiore with its beaches, watersports and lakeside towns less than a 30-minute drive away.
As well as there being plenty of outside space to enjoy, Casa Visconti offers ample accommodation inside too. There are two living spaces to choose where to unwind or socialise, with the main area found on the ground floor. Several comfortable sofas allow everyone to get together for cosy evenings in front of the fireplace and television. This open-plan space also features a dining table that’s conveniently located close to the fully-equipped kitchen. Here you’ll also find another dining area for more casual meals. Doors in both rooms open straight out onto covered patios with both outdoor seating and dining spaces. Also on the ground floor are a bathroom with shower, a double bedroom with direct patio access and a small bedroom with bunk beds.
An air-conditioned mansard living room is located on the first floor and is ideal for quieter times, such as reading and listening to music. There’s also a small table and chairs for drinks or playing games. Another two double bedrooms and a bathroom complete Casa Visconti’s accommodation.
A lush garden surrounds the villa, with an immaculate lawn that’s dotted by beautiful oak trees, providing both shade and privacy. Set within the lawn is a terrace with private swimming pool and sun loungers. A variety of plants and flowers make the garden feel like an oasis of calm, with their sweet scent making balmy evenings even more atmospheric.
The countryside around Casa Visconti is perfect for walking and cycling, with lots of sleepy villages to discover. Within a short drive are two golf courses and glorious Lake Maggiore. Try a range of watersports on the lake and explore the villages, towns and cities dotted along its shores.
Must-visits for historic sightseeing include the lakeside towns of Arona and Stresa - both of which are within a 45-minute drive. Also get close to nature and follow scenic trails at Parco dei Lagoni di Mercurago, a nearby wildlife park.

About the surrounding area of Casa ViscontiThe nearest village to Casa Visconti with amenities such as a supermarket, pizzeria and a cake shop is just five minutes away by car. An even wider choice of restaurants and bars opens up within a 10-minute drive.
As well as the immediate area being great for long walks and bike rides, golfers will love that there are several large golf courses nearby too. One of the most popular is upmarket Castelconturbia Golf Club (6km).
The towns of Arona (14km) and Lesa (23km) sit along Lake Maggiore and are both beautiful places to visit. Arona is probably most famous for the enormous hilltop statue of San Carlo.
There are also the remains of an ancient military fortress called Rocca to see, as well as numerous churches and piazzas. Stroll along Arona’s pretty lakeside promenade to soak up the town’s laidback atmosphere. You’ll also find plenty of old churches in Lesa, as well as the ruins of a castle by the shore.
Also be sure to make the 45 minute journey to the town of Stresa (40km), which is known for its beautiful architecture.
One of the highlights is Villa Pallavicino with its gardens and zoo. You can also take the cable car from the lido up to the Mottarone mountain, with the journey taking around 20 minutes. There’s also the chance to go over to the picturesque Borromean Islands by ferry.
Around an hour’s drive away is one of the most beautiful lakeside cities, Como (70km) and stylish Milan (75km) with its luxury shops and boutiques.
