A patio with comfy seating area and dining table is a lovely place to spend the evening eating, drinking and enjoying each other’s company.
A couple of restaurants, bars and cafés can be found just 3km away in the local town. There are also supermarkets and grocery stores for stocking up on the essentials.
The Baroque town of Modica is a 15-minute drive away and is a fantastic place to explore. As well as exquisite architecture and historic sites including the Duomo di San Pietro and Duomo di San Giorgio, the city is famous for its chocolate. Be sure to visit the chocolate museums and buy some to take home with you.
The little town of Scilci can also be reached in 15 minutes, while the hilltop town of Ragusa is half an hour away. The gardens of Giardino Ibleo here are particularly lovely.
The impressive Cava D’Ispica is a site where ancient caves and burial sites have been carved into the mountainside. Just 13km away, it’s not to be missed.
Sandy beaches and charming fishing villages await at Sampiere, Donnalucata and Marina di Modica, which can all be reached in around 25 minutes. The seaside village of Pozzallo also boasts an idyllic beach as well as a busy little port where you can catch a ferry to Malta.
