Villa Trixy is set among ancient olive groves in Frini, overlooking the azure Ionian Sea on the Greek island of Lefkada. The villa is around forty minutes from Aktion International Airport in Preveza, or accessible via island-hopping from Ithaki, Kefalonia, or Meganisi. It is just a five-minute drive from the main town of Lefkada, where you’ll find all the essentials for a self-catered stay. Situated on the island’s northern tip, the villa benefits from Lefkada’s rare connection to mainland Greece via a causeway. Along the nearby western coast lie some of Greece’s most celebrated golden beaches with crystal-clear waters, including Agios Ioannis, Kathisma, Porto Katsiki, Agiofili, and Egremni. Many of these are organised with sun loungers, parasols, water sports, and beachfront cafés.
Lefkada is renowned for its mountainous terrain and lush forests, perfect for walking, hiking, climbing, or cycling. Explore the island’s interior along well-marked trails, passing native flora and fauna. From Mount Elati, the island’s highest peak at one thousand one hundred and fifty metres, enjoy sweeping views. Visit the capital, Lefkes, home to the central square of Agios Spyridon, Greek Orthodox churches with Ionian School icons, and the Archaeological, Folklore, and Gramophone Museums. Stroll Mela Street for souvenirs before stopping at a family-run taverna for homemade meze and ouzo.
Further south, the fishing village of Vassiliki is famed for its beaches and windsurfing. Ferries depart from here to Ithaki and Kefalonia. Explore the hillside village of Poros, with its terracotta-roofed homes, Byzantine church, and ancient castle. Enjoy fresh seafood at Sivota’s harbour, or discover Santa Maria’s diverse heritage, home to a tiny church, castle, mosque, and Venetian temple. Nature lovers will appreciate the nearby Divari and Ivaria lagoons, a haven for migratory birds and local wildlife.
A private yacht charter is the perfect way to explore Lefkada by sea, swim, snorkel, or enjoy lunch aboard before watching the sun set with a cocktail in hand. Don’t miss the island’s vineyards for local wine tasting, and after dark, dance beneath the stars.
