Overview

Pool Villa/House Modern Wellness Ideal for Kids Walk to Village Laptop Friendly Workspace All Bedrooms En-Suite Parking Space

Enjoy your complimentary breakfast as you gaze at the Provençal landscapes of olive trees, cypresses and lavender with distant vistas of Les Alpilles. It’s all about the French art de vivre at Le Mas Cardinal, a beautiful residence just a short stroll from the picture-perfect village of Eygalières.

The brainchild from an inspiring architect couple who feature several homes in our collection, this south-facing Provençal mas exudes refinement and style with glorious views. Sit beneath the pergola listening to the gentle trickle of the water feature or sip your morning coffee by the outdoor lounge as kids excitedly make the most of the heated swimming pool. As evening nears, listen out for the cicadas as you prepare feasts on the stone barbecue.

Inside, the spacious living room features a high wood-beamed ceiling, atmospheric fireplace, fine furnishings and bold artwork whilst the light-filled kitchen-diner will impress you with its elegant design – a delight for keen cooks or arrange a chef to do the hard work for you.

Exquisite attention to detail continues throughout the bedrooms – five double bedrooms (with sumptuous queen or super king-size beds) all have gorgeous en suite bathrooms with high-end toiletries – the two largest bedrooms feature a shower-hammam. The sixth en suite bedroom, created with children in mind, includes two sets of bunk-beds and doors leading to the outdoor terrace.

Leave your gated residence and wander down the road to the heart of Eygalières, around a 5 to 10-minute walk away. It’s such a charming village with pretty café terraces perfect for a relaxed glass of rosé alongside excellent restaurants including the Michelin starred Maison Hache. No wonder a small handful of A-list celebrities have bought houses here. Potter along the cobbled lanes to the top of the village for far-reaching views and don’t miss the Friday morning market on Rue de la République.

This is a great setting for exploring other corners of Provence. Start off in nearby St-Rémy-de-Provence with its art galleries and joyful Wednesday morning market, then spend time exploring one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’, Les Baux-de-Provence. There’s another delightful market in gastronomic Maussane-les-Alpilles or venture to Arles, a 45-minute drive away, for more food, wine, art and history.

In the other direction are the antique stores of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Avignon, the canoeing opportunities near Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and yet more incredible scenery across the Luberon with iconic perched villages such as Gordes and Ménerbes just over half an hour away.
