Exquisite attention to detail continues throughout the bedrooms – five double bedrooms (with sumptuous queen or super king-size beds) all have gorgeous en suite bathrooms with high-end toiletries – the two largest bedrooms feature a shower-hammam. The sixth en suite bedroom, created with children in mind, includes two sets of bunk-beds and doors leading to the outdoor terrace.
Leave your gated residence and wander down the road to the heart of Eygalières, around a 5 to 10-minute walk away. It’s such a charming village with pretty café terraces perfect for a relaxed glass of rosé alongside excellent restaurants including the Michelin starred Maison Hache. No wonder a small handful of A-list celebrities have bought houses here. Potter along the cobbled lanes to the top of the village for far-reaching views and don’t miss the Friday morning market on Rue de la République.
This is a great setting for exploring other corners of Provence. Start off in nearby St-Rémy-de-Provence with its art galleries and joyful Wednesday morning market, then spend time exploring one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’, Les Baux-de-Provence. There’s another delightful market in gastronomic Maussane-les-Alpilles or venture to Arles, a 45-minute drive away, for more food, wine, art and history.
In the other direction are the antique stores of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Avignon, the canoeing opportunities near Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and yet more incredible scenery across the Luberon with iconic perched villages such as Gordes and Ménerbes just over half an hour away.

Set in Provençal grounds, Le Mas Cardinal is just a short stroll from the picture-perfect village of Eygalières in Les Alpilles region of Provence, around half an hour south of Avignon. Fly into Avignon, Nimes or Marseille Airports or take the TGV train from Paris/Lille to Gare d’Avignon TGV (Paris to Avignon is only 2 hours 45 minutes).
Located just off a road leading to Eygalières, you can easily stroll to the heart of the village in around 500m. This beautiful village is loved for its historic charm and beauty – potter around the cobbled lanes, come across gastronomic restaurants (including the Michelin starred Maison Hache) and sip coffee or rosé on atmospheric café terraces. Walk to the top of the village, passing flower-filled lanes and gorgeous historic houses, then admire the glorious vistas around you. Wander to the village early on a Friday morning to experience its lovely market.
Keen cyclists will adore the surrounding lanes passing orchards, vines and olive groves with distant views of the limestone peaks of Les Alpiilles. Cycle around 1km to the Chapelle Saint-Sixte which dates back to the 12th century or continue to charming local villages such as Mollégès or Orgon.
In the other direction is Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (14km), a bustling town with a rich artistic heritage and enchanting old quarter – it’s huge Wednesday morning market is especially delightful. To the south-west are gems such as Les Baux-de-Provence (22km), one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’, and Maussane-les-Alpilles (18km), loved for its restaurants and little shops – try some of France’s finest extra virgin olive oil produced from the olive groves of the Baux valley.
Arles (39km) is another wonderful day out for art and history lovers, also the gateway to the Camargue, whilst historic Avignon (28km) is famed for its markets, wine-bars and two UNESCO World Heritage sites, Le Pont d’Avignon and Le Palais des Papes.
You are also well located for reaching the idyllic landscapes of the Luberon with iconic perched villages such as Gordes (32km) and Ménerbes (29km) just over half an hour away. Look out for vineyards, yet more excellent restaurants and pretty village markets showcasing wine, olive oil, strawberries from Vaucluse, summer Luberon cherries, Cavaillon melons, candied fruit from Apt and other regional delicacies from this magnificent part of Provence.
