Close to the enchanting village of St Paul de Vence, this former bergerie has been sensitively converted into an attractive holiday home sleeping 12 guests across six bedrooms and bathrooms. The location is wonderful being so close to the beaches of the French Riviera and within half an hour of Nice, Antibes and Cannes.
Relax in the light-filled interiors of Bergerie Grege whether sitting back in the inviting salon, enjoying your morning coffee in the contemporary kitchen-diner or resting in one of the six double bedrooms including an impressive master bedroom downstairs and a pretty en suite double on the first-floor with its own private terrace.
Open the salon’s French windows to the al-fresco dining terrace for meals overlooking the swimming pool below, then retire to one of the outdoor lounges to enjoy a bottle of Côtes de Provence (wine-lovers note Château de Bellet is only half an hour away). The glorious swimming pool is perfect for long summer days whilst the pretty garden (with boules) is another delightful corner of Bergerie Grege’s outdoor grounds.
As the crow flies, artistic St Paul de Vence is only 2km away where you can spend hours pottering around the medieval lanes stopping off at cafes or art studios, following the footsteps of great writers and artists such as Picasso, Matisse and Chagall, many of whom used to gather at La Colombe d'Or hotel-restaurant. Take time to visit Fondation Maeght just outside the village, home to impressive art exhibitions and the Joan Miró sculpture garden.
Vence is another artistic gem just a short drive away or venture south to stroll along Cagnes-sur-Mer’s promenade and enjoy a wealth of summer watersports. The grand city of Nice is a lovely day out, as are the glorious beaches around Villefranche-sur-Mer, Cap d’Antibes, Juan-les-Pins and Cannes.
Meanwhile, explore the glistening French Riviera by boat or admire the Côte d’Azur hinterland as you walk, cycle or horse-ride through the beautiful landscapes of olive groves, pines, cypresses, chestnut trees, vines and rivers, an absolute paradise for keen hikers and nature lovers.

Bergerie Grege is in a fantastic location for visiting St Paul de Vence as well as the glorious beaches, towns and villages of the French Riviera and its hinterland. Nice Airport is only 10km away whilst the nearest train stations are Cagnes-sur-Mer (4km) alongside Nice (17km) or Antibes (14km) for TGV arrivals from Lyon and Paris.
The house is in a residential area parallel to the main road that connects Cagnes-sur-Mer to Vence and beyond. There are good sized supermarkets within a short drive around Cagnes-sur-Mer and La Colle-sur-Loup whilst the Polygone Riviera shopping centre is just over 2km away by car. The attractive town of Cagnes-sur-Mer hosts a market on a Wednesday morning (and most Saturdays) and is home to the popular Hippodrome de la Côte d'Azur horse-racing track by the coast.
The true gems of this part of the French Riviera are the villages of St Paul de Vence and Vence. Starting off with hilltop St Paul de Vence, around 2km away as the crow flies, follow the footsteps of Chagall and Picasso as you explore the enchanting medieval lanes with little art studios and inviting restaurants including the iconic La Colombe d'Or. Walk along the historic ramparts and admire stunning mountain and Mediterranean views. This really is quintessential southern France.
Just outside the village centre, visit the highly regarded Fondation Maeght (4km), a private museum with an impressive modern art collection alongside its Joan Miró sculpture garden. Art lovers will also be keen to visit Matisse’s La Chapelle du Rosaire (8km) close to the equally charming Vence.
Indeed, Vence (7.5km) will also take your breath away with its beauty and historic character. Potter around the flower-filled cobbled lanes, look out for lovely markets, stop off in pretty cafes and dine out in excellent restaurants.
Of course, you are also so close to the many jewels of the French Riviera from the area around Antibes (15km) with its historic quarter, idyllic bays, coastal walking trails of Cap d’Antibes and beachside restaurants of Juan-les-Pins to the glamour and allure of Cannes (25km). In the other direction is Nice, such an atmospheric city to spend time in, as well as beautiful Côte d’Azur villages and towns such as Villefranche-sur-Mer (24km), Èze (28km) and Menton (45km).
