Three Amazing Day Trips in the Cote d’Azur

The warm climate and the inspiring landscape of the Cote d’Azur and French Riviera have long been associated with luxury and glamour, attracting famed personalities from F. Scott Fitzgerald to Brigitte Bardot. Those lucky enough to be following in their footsteps will soon understand the eternal appeal of this wonderful part of Southern France, so we’ve listed a few of our top day trips to help you get the most out of your time.

1. Dive off Golfe-Juan

Golfe-Juan, France

Golfe-Juan is located between Antibes and Cannes. At the small locally run 5* PADI dive school you can book half-day or full-day trips and see what lies beneath the glittering blue sea. Diamond Diving is located two minutes from the train station and also easily accessible by car.

If you decide to spend the rest of your day in the town itself, you can sample local fare at the highly recommended Bistro du Port, famed for its fish and excellent service. Stay at the Villa Mirabelle to enjoy the quiet of the Riviera villages, only a 20-minute drive from Cannes.

2. Cycle around Nice

Nice, France

Swot up on your history as you cycle around Nice with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. Open to anyone who can ride a bike, you’ll be able to see much more than you would by walking or from a tour bus. Take it a leisurely pace, stopping to sample some local cuisine along the way, before enjoying the vibrant nightlife come evening.

Looking for somewhere nearby after dancing the night away? Villa Le Cap is the perfect spot to rest your head after an evening of revelry. This chic home is close to town and allows to you wake up to gorgeous ocean views and access to beaches.

3. Hike to Eze-sur-Mer

Eze-sur-Mer, France

Take the train or the bus from Nice to Eze-Sur-Mer and walk up the well-signposted Nietzsche Path. The hike takes about an hour and fifteen minutes when walking at a fair pace, but the views and various shops all the way up and down the trail are so worth the workout. Make sure you visit the botanical Jardin d’Eze before you leave!
