Imagine a villa in Tuscany - the verdant rolling hills, olive groves and grapevines. You’re dining alfresco in a loggia perched above it all, with age old wisteria framing the view. It sounds like a fantasy, but at Villa Dania it’s real. This 5 bedroom 19th century village home has been lovingly restored by the owners, adding modern amenities while preserving the villa’s fine historic details.
This family villa invites connection and conversation; sit with friends by the pool, under the arbor, or inside under a fresco (yes, really). All that’s missing is a glass of good Tuscan wine. Thankfully that can be found in the village with a couple of shops and places to eat, just a short stroll from the villa itself.
Tuscany’s most important cultural centres are nearby. A trip to Volterra (25km) is a must for any history buff. This Bronze Age settlement was one of the "twelve cities" of the Etruscan League - and remains a living museum of history, art, and architecture. You might fly into the nearest airport in Pisa, only 44km away. Or if you're taking the train instead, you'll catch it in Pontedera (25km), a city known for wine and chocolate production.

About the surrounding area of Villa DaniaVilla Dania enjoys rolling views of Tuscan countryside from its private garden and swimming pool, yet it is also set in local Tuscan village with a couple of useful grocery shops, places to eat and a pharmacy.
Situated a 45-minute drive from Pisa Airport, it is a fantastic base for exploring the very best of Tuscany with many wonderful villages and towns within striking distance.
Indeed, visitors to Tuscany come for many reasons. Many come in search of fine art and others to explore the extraordinary countryside. Gourmets and wine buffs descend on Tuscany to enjoy the beautiful but straightforward cuisine and wine. Walkers enjoy the mountain paths, cyclists the rolling hills, and summer guests even head to the sea coast north or south of Livorno, around an hour away.
One of the most famous historic towns is Volterra (25km), a beautiful walled medieval town also with Renaissance palaces and Etruscan sites to admire. Just as stunning and definitely on the tourist trail, magical San Gimignano (35km) is also close with its many towers, winding lanes and wonderful surrounding landscapes.
San Miniato (35km) is another Tuscan gem to explore, especially its impressive Piazza della Repubblica, perhaps combined with a trip to Empoli (50km), an attractive town in the Arno Valley or Vinci (55km), the birthplace of the great artists, Leonardo da Vinci.
A day out in Florence (80km) is also possible, about 90-minutes by car, or head south to the grand city of Siena (76km) to discover yet more artistic treasures and outstanding beauty.
Pisa (48km) itself is a joy, not just because of its leaning tower, and further north lies the exquisite town of Lucca (52km) with its old town filled with Renaissance palaces, pretty churches and enchanting squares surrounded by grand city walls.

Best Suited For: All AgesThe villa is in a quaint village so it is lovely to be able to wander out to the little shops, cafe and pizzeria. Furthermore, a playground for children is only 200 metres from the villa with plenty of space to play. There is also horse-riding a short drive away and lots of wonderful walking and mountain biking trails.
Furthermore, nearby Pecciolo has some family-friendly attractions such as an
archaeological museum as well as an outdoor climbing/adventure centre with a variety of courses and a Parco Preistorico with lots of dinosaurs.
Volterra is also great for children wanting to learn more about the Etruscan history of the region or head to Pisa, Florence or Siena for more museums, gardens and lovely sights for a great family day out.

With views of rolling hills, olive groves and vineyards, Villa Dania is quintessentially Tuscan and a romantic venue for your Italian wedding.
This 19th century home can host an intimate ceremony by the swimming pool, then gather to feast beneath the wisteria-clad terrace with magnificent views. As the night draws in and music plays, the stars shine brightly in the clear Tuscan skies above you.
Fortunately there’s no shortage of good local wine to enjoy during your special day from crisp white Vernaccia from San Gimignano to Volterra’s Sangiovese red, not to mention endless possibilities in Chianti.

Additional Fees for Events
As well as villa rental, there is an events fee plus the cost of any extras.
Wedding Reception
An intimate reception can be hosted inside Villa Dania or outside by the swimming pool or beneath the wisteria-clad terrace, all options for a maximum of 20 people.
Alternatively, a marquee or similar structure for up to 30 people can be set up within the grounds below the swimming pool.
Dancing can take place on the traditional stone flooring in the upper part of the grounds or by the garden and poolside.
There is no time limit on the event but music can only be played until 2.00 a.m. (both indoors and outdoors).
In the case of bad weather, the event should take place indoors (space for 20 people).
Wedding Ceremony
A ceremony can be set up beneath the wisteria-clad terrace or below by the swimming pool.
Alternatively, there is a small church in a hamlet around 500m away.
Another option is a civil ceremony in a characterful/contemporary palace in Peccioli, 9km away, which has a wonderful terrace with panoramic views.
The owners can help find a religious celebrant who speaks English.
Where to Stay
As well as Villa Dania (13 guests), Villa Le Fauci (11 guests) and Villa Edoardo (6 guests), the owners also have their own agriturismo with eight apartments (40 guests), each one around a 15-minute drive away and all subject to availability.
Transportation can be arranged.

The owners can organise catering for you.

There are no specific packages but the venue can help arrange an event before the wedding (at an extra cost).

There are no major noise restrictions although music should be turned off by 2.00 a.m.

There is limited security measures in place (as always, guests are responsible for their belongings).
Please note that any event rental may be subject to additional charges, venue hire fees and to a higher security deposit, which will be in addition to any published rental rates and fees.
All events are on request only and subject to prior agreement from the owner, who reserves the right to refuse all events without their prior authorisation.

The villa was a manor of a medicine professor and there is a very ancient and historic library with very interesting and unique books referring to all the scientific subjects.
For anyone coming to stay is there anything in the surrounding area they should...
Really do? Visit to Teatro del Silenzio where Bocelli has his concert every year.

Spectacular
Spectacular house. Ideal position in a village with shops pizzeria cafes. Views from the garden are so beautiful over the countryside.

Made to feel completely at home
Amazing villa with comfortable accommodation for 12 of us and a luxury feel. Full of grandeur and spectacular views with great outdoor space and pool. Made to feel completely at home by the hosts and with local shops and cafe opposite felt part of village life too. Loved the extra touches like a boules pit and a swing for the kids. If we’d stayed longer we’d have spent more time at the villa but it is within easy drives of Florence and Pisa so had to tick them off first. Loved it!

Exceeded our expectations
The photos represent the villa perfectly. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. We were a party of 12 and this villa was fantastic!! It exceeded our expectations. We loved sitting out by the pool in the evening. The owners were very welcoming and made sure that we had everything that we needed. They were very helpful and arranged a wonderful dinner for us. It was situated very well for day trips to the most important cities of Tuscany. Thank you very much.

Already planning our return
Just fantastic! Warm welcome to a fabulous villa. Exceeded our expectations! Best view in Tuscany. We cooked dinner each night in the large, well-equipped kitchen or on the courtyard grill. The pool was beautiful and cleaned on alternate days (as were all outdoor areas). There were 5 bedrooms with nice linens and towels (1 was on the ground floor with bath (shower), two baths are upstairs - 1 with shower and tub and 1 just with shower. Screens and AC in the upper 4 bedrooms as well as the kitchen, library, breakfast and dining rooms. Nights were cool, so we didn't use AC the entire time. Located in a small village with a cafe and shops for the basics (like cheap, good Chianti). Major shopping can be done at Conad (in Capannoli) grocery store on the way from Florence or Pisa. You can get a quick lunch at the store's cafe. Pastas were really good! Pizza night on Wednesdays at an Agriturismo farm. Best bread I've ever had. We are already planning our return.

Villa Dania is a great place to stay in and relax, the view in the backyard is terrific and the place outside is absolute great the swimming pool and that area around. It is very clean and good space inside.The neighbourhood is fantastic, you can get everything you need, new baked bread every morning in the grocery store, you can go to the butcher and buy a steak and at least you can go to the bar at lunch time and get a cold beer on draft :) All the people around are so friendly, I would 100% recommend this Villa to stay in.

Incredible week
Villa Angelica is amazing!! Set in an great location in Tuscany, with incredible views, and with a great pool and outdoors area to enjoy lovely outdoor lunches and dinners. We had the whole villa for 13 people, and loved our stay in the house and to enjoy the small village of Fabricca (like running across the road to pick up groceries in the shop, ice cream at the bar, or aspirin in the pharmacy). Thank you Francesco and family for an incredible week at a stunning Villa Angelica!
