Stunningly executed, the pool overlooks glittering views of the coast. About the surrounding area of Villa LykiaVilla Lykia is nestled on Turkey’s glittering “Turquoise coast,” in the pretty mountain village of Islamlar only 9 kilometres from the popular Kalkan. You can enjoy unspoilt tranquillity of the mountains whilst being close to some of the hot-spots of this stunning coastline.
Islamlar is nestled in the foothills of the Taurus Mountains, offering an insight into beautiful rural Turkish life which has remained unchanged for many years. Bursting with olive groves and vineyards, the village continues in the same way it has for the last 100 years. The bakery flour is still ground using an old water-powered millstone - a stunning setting that captures times gone-by, while being close to all the well-heeled beach clubs and restaurants of Kalkan.
The area has several trout farm restaurants where simple, authentic Turkish food is served, bursting with flavour. In the summer months, the Kalkan locals head to Islamlar for respite from the heat, as it is several degrees cooler than at sea level.
Close by is the famous Lycian Way the village is natural choice for walkers. Kalkan is a historically enchanting place, remaining an unspoiled haven of luscious nature, crystal-clear azure sea, historic architecture, ancient history and warm traditional Turkish hospitality. Known for its proximity to ancient Lycian sites (around 20 major sites) and endless watersports options, including boat trips out on traditional gulets (wooden fishing boats), this spectacular region has something for everyone, and is mostly free of mass tourism.
The bohemian town of Kas is only thirty-minute drive away, with ancient ruins scattered around the town and a small, well-preserved Hellenistic amphitheatre, while Fethiye is well worth a visit, for its local colourful market life.

Islamlar
Islamlar sits 8 km above Kalkan. Once the place Kalkan folk went to cool off at one of the trout farms built to make use of the mountain’s springs. Today Islamlar houses many a villa, enjoyed by Istanbul Turks who prefer a holiday in slightly cooler and cleaner air. Here the locals grow grapes and pomegranates, but you’ll mainly see the men sat gossiping next to the local teahouse. The trout farms remain a place to come for a wonderful fresh meal, or a breakfast consisting of fresh local fare. The rocket will be the freshest & most tasty you’ve ever had; and the fresh chips cooked in olive oil take some beating.

Best Suited For: All AgesVilla Lykia is perfectly placed on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast and has a private pool and enclosed grounds, making it an ideal choice for families with children.
'Çocuklar' (children) are much loved in Turkish culture, and they will be welcome wherever they go, while the turquoise coast has excellent beaches for the whole family and plenty of water parks for days out.
Kalkan Harbour has a children’s play area and local ambience, including markets for hand-made souvenirs and family-friendly restaurants.Children will love to discover the jewels of the Lycian sites such as Tlos, Xanthos and Patara with the back drop of it's amazing 12km of sandy beach.
Further afield Oludeniz, with its clear waters and fine sands, is considered one of the most family-friendly beaches on offer. Oludeniz Waterworld Aquapark is sure to be a hit, complete with an array of pools, chutes and slides.
Water sports enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice, with everything from kayaking, canoeing and jet-skiing. For older children, sea kayaking, scuba diving and horse-riding are on offer, while a day trip to the Greek island of Meis will leave them with lasting memories.

| End of stay cleaning included? | Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit. |

Travelling to Turkey
All British (and most other nationalities) citizens require a full 10 year passport with at least 6 months validity to enter Turkey. UK passport holders are exempt from visa for tourist visits of up to 90 days within 180 days starting from the first entry date. For all other passports please visit the Turkish Government Website or the Turkish Consulate for details of whether you require a visa or not.
Whilst in Turkey local regulations require you keep your passport and a printed copy of your e-visa with you at all times.

Idyllic Week of Relaxation
We have stayed all over Turkey over the last 10 years and we have all voted this villa our favourite! We are a family of four, my husband and myself and two teenage daughters and we all loved our week in this villa. It was so beautiful, from the amazing view, the gorgeous infinity pool and outside seating areas to the villa itself. Lots of room for twice as many people as we had with us. We love to cook with the foods from the local markets and village people and we had enough equipment and lovely kitchen to work in. There was a lovely outside eating area where we shared our breakfasts and a Turkish sofa for that late afternoon G &T. Plenty of local restaurants to try the local trout or a mass of others to entice you down into lovely Kalkan. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone, so go on what are you waiting for, get this one booked, it is amazing. We hope to come back again one day soon, thank you again for an amazing week
