The interiors at Villa Benwaree offer the quintessential Eastern minimalism and exquisitely appointed spaces with impeccable feng-shui. A two-storey height open-plan living space is finessed with muted hues, beautiful natural materials and Eastern touches such as vividly coloured cushions, teak, cherry and bamboo fittings and banquette style seating. Two bedrooms offer cool neutrals, soft earthy tones, artfully soft lighting and crisp, quality cotton; attention to detail is flawless, with soft fluffy robes and luxury toiletries. Taking a bath is no understated affair, with a stunning indoor whirlpool bathtub that guests can slip into at the end of a busy day.
A full-length glass wall faces the garden allowing abundant natural light to pour in, with chic cream-toned curtains for an evening-time cosy effect, and hanging lights, all the mysticism of the East blends with Western hotel polish. Executed with flair, the outdoors are illuminated at night with lantern style lighting and the scent of the palms and ocean.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa BenwareeCha Am, in the western province of Phetchaburi, is 170 kilometres south of Bangkok (2.5 hours by car) and 25 kilometres north of Hua Hin, the famous seaside resort. Hua Hin has a well-trodden tourist infrastructure, whereas Cha Am is known for its laid-back style, 5-kilometre long beach lined with Casuarina trees and colourful local culture; it is also popular with Thai holidaymakers.
The resort caters so well to visitors that they barely need to leave the complex. With the Lobby Bar offering wines, cocktails and fresh coffee and the I Sea restaurant and bar, voted Restaurant of the Year by Tatler Thailand, offering a menu created by celebrity chef, culinary enthusiasts will be in paradise.
The resort provides area shuttles around Hua Hin Town Centre and also has parking available. Guests can take part in a cooking class, practise yoga to the sounds of the ocean, or play volleyball by the beach. When it comes to a spot of pampering, massages and facials are available at the Veranda spa.
From pony rides on the beach and thrilling banana boat rides for children to water-skiing, windsurfing and parasailing, Cha Am’s beach has ample activities on offer. Sitting back and relaxing with a Thai massage, or simply enjoying the sunset with a cocktail in the evening.
When it comes to local attractions, from shopping to water parks to cultural sites, this region is rich with an offering. Maruekathaiyawan Palace is a Thai-Victorian style summer seaside palace, constructed in the early 1920s designed by an Italian architect and built with golden teak; the royal halls and chambers are set up as a walk-through museum, decorated with royal artefacts and framed vintage photographs.
For a spot of shopping, The Venezia is a vividly coloured replica of the original Venice, in Hua Hin. With 316 shops, the park is immense and even includes a 200 meter 'Grand Canal' - visitors can catch a ride on an iconic Venetian gondola. Colourful Mediterranean style homes, shops and terraces line the canal which finishes with an Italian style garden.
The Cicada Market in Hua Hin is a nightlife market with art and entertainment, offering a variety of wares and relaxed atmosphere. With its distinctly local flavour, Hua Hin and Cha Am are full of authentic Thai experiences, from the historic Hua Hin Railway Station to an excursion inland to Phetchaburi -the ‘city of three palaces’ - to discover ancient temples, caves and the scenic Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park, visitors will find endless attractions whether within the resort or beyond.

The Sook Farm makes for a great day out, with the chance to feed an array of animals, from sheep to Shetland ponies, whilst the Santorini amusement park rings a slice of the picture-perfect Greek island to Cha-Am; this photogenic outdoor entertainment outlet occupies an expansive area next to Cha-Am Beach.
For adventurous youngsters, kite surfing is popular, whilst the Vana Nava Water Jungle is an extremely family-friendly resort. For rainy days, or when its too hot outside, a visit to Whaley Port will hit the right note; an interactive underwater theme park, it will keep little ones entertained.
The Hutsadin Elephant Foundation is a magical visit, located inland from Hua Hin night markets. Children can feed, pet or shower the elephants and learn about the work the foundation has undertaken to care for abandoned elephants.
The local culture is extremely accessible to children and Thais generally adore young travellers, making a great fuss of them and catering to their needs in restaurants and when out and about.
