Overview
Villa Orquidea Menorca sits proudly on the Son Bou coast of Menorca, its modern white walls coordinating perfectly with the other homes in the area and the surrounding lush green trees and blue ocean views.
Inside, the sleek modern vibe is continued; white painted walls and wooden tones throughout the villa add to the cool and relaxed feelings provided by the air conditioning. The living area features two sofas where you can kick back and socialise or relax in front of the satellite television. In the same room, you will find the large dining table perfect for social meals together as a group, as the whole room is flooded with natural light from the large French doors that line the wall.
Villa Orquidea Menorca features a spacious kitchen with everything you need to cook a meal yourself and a smaller dining table for smaller groups or breakfast. The kitchen features all the essential equipment, as well as a blender and electric kettle.
The bedrooms in the villa are spread across three floors. Upstairs is the master bedroom which includes a double bed and an ensuite bathroom. On the same floor, you will find the first of the four twin rooms available, featuring soft beds as well as closet space. Moving to the ground floor, there you will find two more twin bedrooms, each with its own closet space, as well as a communal bathroom. On the lower ground floor is the final twin bedroom, perfect for guests looking for a bit more privacy during their stay. This floor also features another bathroom that directly leads to an indoor pool area, which includes a button-operated jacuzzi section. A number of the bedrooms in Villa Orquidea Menorca feature small satellite televisions, so guests can relax to (or doze off in front of!) local shows.
The lower ground floor also hosts a recreation area, with a small amount of fitness equipment available for gym-goers to make use of, including an elliptical and a stationary bike. For more fun, look to the foosball table, pool table, darts board or the outdoor table tennis set to challenge your friends and family!
Stepping out into the Menorcan air, guests will be stunned by the beautiful ocean view. The villa has a grassy backyard and a paved patio area. There is, of course, the glistening outdoor pool for a dip in the water without having to leave the property and a button-operated jacuzzi section too. Dry off and catch the sun on the many loungers that line the pool or whilst swinging in the hammock just to the side. Up a few stairs, you will find a raised patio upon which sits an outdoor seating area as well as a dining table perfect for sipping Spanish wine as you enjoy the sunset and an al fresco dinner.
What you should know…
- If you want to make the most out of the island, it is recommended to rent a car as public transport is limited and infrequent
- The house is split across 3 floors and there are a few steps down to the patio and pool area, so those with extra mobility needs and small children should keep this in mind
- There are two pools so smaller children should be supervised when around them
- Only the indoor pool has a heated option

About the surrounding area of Villa Orquidea MenorcaVilla Orquidea Menorca is less than an hour from the airport, so it won't be long after guests land that shoes can be kicked off, and relaxation can begin. Set on the coast of Son Bou, the villa is one of a number of beautiful white buildings nestled amongst the green trees in the residential area.
From the villa itself, you can see one of Menorca's pure white sand beaches and clear picturesque ocean waters. Son Bou is home to the longest strip of beach in Menorca, 2km of beautiful white gold sand right at your fingertips. The island is a gentle landscape, so it is perfect for scenic walks, especially the country walks of the Son Bou Nature Reserve.
Those looking to get active can rejoice at the many available activities on the island. If you fancy seeing the ocean up close and personal, consider making use of the many water sports available nearby or even heading to Son Bou Scuba to view the ocean's depths and fishy friends.
History buffs will also love Son Bou and Menorca as a whole. There are a number of ancient ruins on the island ready for you to discover. Close to the villa, you will find Basilica Paleocristiana de Son Bou, a set of ancient ruins believed to be of religious importance.
If you can tear yourself away from your beautiful Menorcan home away from home, you will be sure to enjoy the island's many restaurants, bars, and cafes to get a real taste of the island. Son Bou is home to the highly recommended Club San Jaime, a lively restaurant that features not only a wide range of food and snacks but also a pool and slides for younger holidaymakers. Be sure to visit at night as it becomes host to late club nights and live music to dance the night away to. The Son Bou area is well developed, so you can enjoy a whole host of cuisines or get stuck into the traditional munch of paella and sangria and the many beachfront restaurants.

THE REGION
The resort of Son Bou in the municipality of Alaior, on the south coast of Menorca, is renowned for having the biggest and probably best beach on the island. The resort is located around 20 kilometres from the international airport at Mahon.
Son Bou is a well-developed area containing many restaurants offering a good range of British, Indian, Chinese and Mediterranean dishes, as well as numerous bars, some of which are themed to help entertain young ones.
While the resort is very popular for families, the sheer size of the beach makes it easy for those who prefer to avoid the little ones to find their ideal spots! There is an abundance of natural sand dunes that make a very pleasant backdrop.

The villa is spacious enough that they can run around enjoying the sunshine or sprawl out on the sun loungers. All ages will enjoy the glistening waters of both the indoor and outdoor pools; the cool water will be a welcomed relief to little ones who aren’t quite used to the heat.
Inside, there are plenty of bedrooms for kids and teens to claim as their own. The rooms are split across three floors, so teenagers seeking privacy can claim the basement floor for themselves. For relaxation, they will surely love sprawling out on the two sofas in front of the television or connecting to the included Wi-Fi to contact friends back home.
For younger holiday makers seeking more entertainment, they can try their hand at pool, foosball, or table tennis in the recreation areas. A bit of friendly family competition is sure to add even more excitement to your stay!
The fun doesn’t stop at the villa either, as Menorca is an island full of activities for families of all ages to enjoy. Rent a jeep safari and drive down dirt tracks in a 4x4 as you take in the island nature, stop halfway through your journey, and enjoy a picnic lunch in the Menorcan countryside too.
If they are seeking more adventure, consider taking to the ocean and enjoying the number of water sports on offer or booking a boat trip to discover some fishy friends. Our kids loved the house and we did too
A wonderful stay was had for the time that we spent at the house. Beautiful views abound and a short walk will take you to an expansive sandy beach with views that are amazing at sunset. The home is very large and the fact that it has both an indoor pool and outdoor pool makes it a wonderful home to enjoy even in the off season during our stay. Our kids loved the house and we did too. Hope to return to Menorca and this home again soon.

This is a beautiful villa in a great location, close to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants we as a family had a wonderful time here, and found it suitable for both young and old alike the two pools, one indoor, were perfect for us we would definitely recommend this villa for a wonderful holiday

Wonderful place, very clean, great host. The pool is fantastic, and the place has everything you need. Supermarket is basically next door, and the host arranged everything we needed for our baby’s; beds, chairs etc. Really super!

Great size, clean accommodation and amenities. Host really helpful. Villa is in a great location at the bottom of a steep area, very near to a restaurant and supermarket. A very short walk (10minutes with children) to the beach area, shops and restaurants. Would definitely recommend.

I would 100% recommend and I’d love to stay again
Perfect location!! We had such a great holiday in Son Bou. We are a family of 8 adults and enjoyed the large house, outdoor bbq area and pool. We were kept in touch at all points, the house had everything we needed, and the sun sets from the balcony are incredible. I would 100% recommend and I’d love to stay again. Thanks for having us!

Perfectly located, close to the beach
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is perfectly located, close to the beach and 1 minute walk from the local supermarket. It has everything you need to spend great holidays, including small details, such as kitchen essentials (which we appreciated). Finally, the sea view from the master bedroom is amazing!!!
