If you’re looking for a luxurious villa with top-quality amenities, stylish home-from-home comforts, and incredible ocean views - look no further than Villa Privilege. Situated in an elevated position in San Jaime and overlooking the much-celebrated Son Bou beach, Villa Privilege is a stunning five-bedroom villa accommodating up to ten guests. The villa is set over two spacious storeys and is bright and airy throughout, featuring a fresh white decor and elegant yet modern fixtures and furnishings.
Villa Privilege’s first floor features a contemporary and on-trend open-plan layout, with large floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that lead out onto a fully-furnished terrace. Showcasing spectacular ocean views, the terrace is ideal for alfresco dining, pre-dinner drinks, or simply a great spot for sitting and watching the world go by.
The living area has a sumptuous red corner sofa complemented by soft cream cushions, modern and stylish furniture, a flat-screen TV and games console for your entertainment, and a cosy and welcoming space for enjoying lazy mornings and quiet evenings. A wooden dining suite provides ample space for family meals, and the well-equipped kitchen features everything you’ll need to rustle up busy breakfasts and hearty dinners. Find an oven and electric hob, fridge freezer, microwave, coffee machine, toaster and juicer, cookware, crockery and utensils. The villa also has a dishwasher and washing machine for added convenience.
All five of the villa’s beautifully designed bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, all of which feature the same light and modern decor as the rest, with pretty splashes of colour in the linens and soft furnishings. Two double rooms and three twins make it a great accommodation choice for those travelling with children or groups that include a mix of couples and single guests. One of the twin rooms can be directly accessed from the pool terrace and is more self-contained, featuring a fridge and cupboards - ideal for older kids, teens, or those who want to enjoy a little extra privacy during their stay.
The villa’s private pool is easily accessible by Roman steps and is surrounded by comfortable sun loungers, providing guests with more opportunities to enjoy those breathtaking ocean views. There is also a portable barbecue for preparing alfresco meals, and a comfy chill-out area is the perfect place for winding down after a busy day with a glass of something or a good book as you take in your glorious surroundings.
What you should know…
- Due to the villa’s location and the many steps that access the property, it isn’t suitable for those with limited mobility and could prove difficult for older guests or young children
- The nearest beach of Son Bou, shops and restaurants are around 1km away and are more easily accessible if you make use of a car during your stay
- Some areas of Son Bou beach are popular with naturists, as is the case with a lot of beaches in Menorca
- There are other villas very close by, so a stay at Villa Privilege might not be ideal for those who are looking for a more remote or private location

The beautifully elevated position of Villa Privilege offers guests the most stunning panoramic views of the ocean and nearby Son Bou beach. The beach and the town centre with all it has to offer in the way of shops, bars and restaurants are around 1km away and accessible by steps. It’s worth noting that the hill is quite pronounced and could prove extremely daunting for children - especially in the heat - so a car is recommended to enjoy your surroundings to the fullest.
Son Bou beach is one of the longest stretches of sand on the island. It features elevated timber walkways over the dunes that provide easy access for pushchairs, prams and wheelchairs, making it popular with visitors with small children and those with limited mobility. Even though the beach can get busy during the summer months and does have areas that naturists frequent, there’s enough space that it should be easy to find a quiet spot to set up for the day and enjoy the clear, shallow waters and soft sands. You’ll find plenty of family-friendly amenities here, such as lots of on-duty lifeguards, a first-aid post, a sun lounger and parasol hire, and a wide range of water sports activities that the whole family can enjoy.
You’ll find Club san Jaime near Son Bou beach, open from late morning until early evening and features some exciting water slides that the kids (and the adults!) will enjoy. Oliver recommends spending an hour or so here on a hot day; it’s great fun and very reasonably priced.
If you head into the centre of Son Bou, you’ll find several good supermarkets, ideal for self-catering, and plenty of places to buy well-priced trinkets and souvenirs. ATMs, a good taxi rank, and an excellent bus service are available if you want to travel a little further afield to Santo Tomas, which is also accessible along the coastal path if you fancy the walk. Santo Tomas is a slightly quieter resort than Son Bou, and this beautiful village is popular with families with young children. The resort is a nature-lovers paradise that features gorgeous remote beaches, countryside walks and cycling tracks - ideal for those who want to get away from it all and enjoy all of the beauty and peace this island offers.

The resort of Son Bou in the municipality of Alaior, on the south coast of Menorca, is renowned for having the biggest and probably best beach on the island. The resort is located around 20 kilometres from the international airport at Mahon.
Son Bou is a well-developed area containing many restaurants offering a good range of British, Indian, Chinese and Mediterranean dishes, as well as numerous bars, some of which are themed to help entertain young ones.
While the resort is very popular for families, the sheer size of the beach makes it easy for those who prefer to avoid the little ones to find their ideal spots! There is an abundance of natural sand dunes that make a very pleasant backdrop.
Villa Privilege is undoubtedly set in a beautiful location but is not the most easily accessible property on foot, making it best suited to families with access to a car. However, older kids should have fewer problems with the steps that lead to the beach and town. The villa’s mix of double and twin rooms, and the option of a cot and high chair, make it a good choice for a wide age range of children. Extras such as a games console, WiFi and satellite TV will make it easy to keep the kids entertained if you are busy preparing food or getting ready for a day out.
The kids are sure to be excited to find a large private pool at the villa, and Roman steps mean it is easily accessible for all ages. It should be noted that there is no fence or safety barrier around the pool and that the walkway around it is narrow in places, so younger children will need to be well supervised.
Son Bou is the nearest beach and is one of the most popular beaches on the island for families with children. It can get very busy here during the summer, but the sandy stretch is large enough that you should have no problem finding your own space to play and relax in private. The waters here are clear and shallow - perfect for paddling and snorkelling, and the addition of lifeguards and a first aid post add peace of mind to parents. Oliver recommends heading to the beach with a picnic and taking advantage of the beach’s shaded picnic area, complete with tables and benches for a fun family day out.
The whole family will enjoy loads of exciting sporting activities available in Son Bou. Hire bikes and enjoy the many nature trails or experience horseback riding, allowing the whole family to enjoy the spectacular views along the coast in a relaxing and unique way. Son Bou is also home to a scuba diving centre that caters to family groups, where guides provide a safe and fun experience, introducing kids and adults alike to the marine fauna of Menorca.
