This villa in Mallorca retains its Old World feeling, with an eye toward modern upgrades to keep you in total comfort.
The stone walls, wooden beams, and traditional tile floors stand in contrast to the contemporary kitchen and bathrooms. Cathedral ceilings expose beautiful stonework in the living room, while soft leather sofas keep the room down-to-earth.
Outside, bougainvillaea vines creep along the walls surrounding the private heated pool. Lounge on the deck beside the pool, or on the terrace, or play ping pong.
Here you’ve all you need to cook up a beautiful Mallorcan meal - the shaded barbecue area has a refrigerator, sink, and room for 10 to dine. As the night wears on, close the curtains for an intimate dessert and digestif.
It's a short drive over to the town of Pollença (4.6 km), where winding cobbled streets will yield lovely discoveries. Sunday is a market day (be sure to wake up early), and every day the 365 Calvary Steps offer a breathtaking view.
The white sands of Puerto Pollença (5.7 km) are about equidistant - head there for a day at the beach followed by a lovely restaurant meal (try Stay, overlooking the bay). ¡Qué hermoso!

What you should know…
- You'll want a car to visit the nearby towns and beaches
- Air Conditioning is running only from 2 pm to 4 pm & from 8 pm to 8 am
- In late July each year, the Moors and Christians Festival takes place in Pollensa with a week of festivities culminating in the carnival on the 2nd of August. During this period visitors can expect loud music and celebrations into the night, especially on the 2nd of August.

About the surrounding area of Villa AlqueriaThe villa is conveniently located between the historic old town of Pollensa and the beach and resort of Puerto Pollensa and Cala San Vicente.
Pollença is an attractive town in north east Mallorca, in the foothills of the Tramuntana mountains. With beautiful architecture to appreciate, such as the Calvari steps, the town is rich in history. Among its highlights are the ‘Pont Romà’, an ancient Roman bridge, the Mare de Deu dels Angels church with its famous rose window, and the Convent de Sant Domingo.
The neighbouring port, Puerto de Pollença, lies to the north and has one of the area’s best beaches, with numerous bars and restaurants to explore in the vicinity. Puerto de Pollença also offers water-sports, a water park for children, and a golf course can also be found just outside the town.
Also to the north of Pollença is Cala Sant Vicenc, one of Mallorca’s smaller resorts, and home to three beaches: Cala Molins, Cala Barques and Cala Clara. The landscape is dramatic and hilly, with rugged cliffs and rocks, and its popularity with visitors has seen it develop some excellent restaurants, tapas bars and useful amenities.
Further down the coast, Alcúdia has a large marina, serving as a boarding point for boat trips to Menorca and the Spanish mainland. The town is considered one of the most attractive in the area, so don’t miss out on seeing its historic centre, visiting the open-air market or seeing Spain’s smallest Roman amphitheatre.
Many beautiful places can be found in the areas further inland, such as the Natural Park S’Albufera, the largest of its kind in the Balearics. Pollença is easily accessible, with Palma de Mallorca Airport around 60km away.

THE REGION
Pollensa, in the north of the island, is an ancient town of attractive narrow streets and an impressive main square, lined with cafés, restaurants and bars, and is just a few kilometres from Port de Pollensa.
The town has several places of interest to visit, including the Roman bridge, signposted ‘Pont Roma’, which is still in use, and the Puig de Pollensa – a small mountain topped by a monastery just outside the town. Here we provide all the information you want to know to make the most of this relaxed yet culturally satisfying inland town.

The house is a beautiful family retreat in a quiet location but close to so many fun things to do together as a family, from exploring beaches to having dinner in the old town of Pollensa.
The local area is ideal for those who want to get a bit more active, with invigorating coastal walks and cycling terrain that even the pros are challenged by. The island is excellent for horse-riding and water-sports, and for beach life, it’s pretty unbeatable too, with the golden sands of Port de Pollença and Cala Sant Vicenç well worth seeking out.

Absolutely lovely villa and a perfect holiday
We had a fantastic holiday in Mallorca in April and Font Xica Gran is a brilliant property. It was just as advertised, and we all really enjoyed both the inside & outside space. Modern and clean with maid service twice a week. It is in a brilliant South facing position and quiet, just a short drive to both Pollenca and Puerto De Pollenca.
