Overview
Can Delme is an incredible 4 bedroom rustic farmhouse style villa located on the northern outskirts of Palma in the Establiments area. Surrounded by mountain views, greenery and enjoying oodles of space both inside and out and a lovely private pool, you would be forgiven to think you are staying at an estate in the deepest countryside; however, you are under 3 miles from the centre of Palma!
There is parking at the house, and you will find a bus stop literally outside the door! There is a restaurant and bar close by and a grocery store just over a mile away, but a short drive will take you to supermarkets, shopping centres, restaurants and bars.
The two-storey property dates from 1940, and it retains a traditional elegance with green shuttered windows, stone-clad terraces, open beams and terracotta tiles.
The rooms are large and airy and furnished as a well-loved country house with chandeliers, interesting paintings and warm woods ‘Spanish style’ throughout. The property benefits from both Wi-Fi and air conditioning and makes a wonderful relaxing retreat for families and groups wanting a country escape close to the buzz of the city.
Downstairs there is a large open style living and dining area with oversized comfortable seating areas where you can watch satellite TV and a large comfortable dining table under an amazing chandelier, a great excuse to dress up and host a dinner party!
The country style kitchen is well equipped with a hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave, freezer, coffee machine and kettle, and there is a handy breakfast table for casual dining, the utility area off the kitchen houses a washing machine and baby highchair.
There are 4 charming ‘Spanish’ styled bedrooms, 2 large doubles, a slightly smaller queen-sized bedroom and a single bedroom. You also have the option of using the expansive upper landing to house a further single bed, and there is a baby cot available should you require it.
There are two bathrooms, one with a bath and one with a shower, and there is an iron and hairdryer available to use.
The outside space is amazing; there is a fantastic garden with loads of room for the kids to run riot. You can all enjoy a large and inviting private pool surrounded by loungers and a colourful oversized parasol or step through to the large shady grassed sunbathing terrace with plenty of comfy loungers to sink into and relax whilst taking in the stunning views.
There is a wonderful large covered seating terrace perfect for alfresco dining or sundowners on balmy evenings and a further outdoor dining area great for casual dining next to the built-in barbeque; there are plenty of nooks outside to nestle up with a good book or just chill out.
Can Delme is a gorgeous country-style retreat, yet it is only a short drive away from lively towns, glorious beaches and the cosmopolitan delights of Palma. This feels like the best of both worlds!

Location
About the surrounding area of Can DelmeAt Can Delme you really have the best of both worlds; Establiments is a quiet, tranquil residential area to the north of Palma, peaceful and authentic, surrounded by fields and vineyards; it is only 15 minutes from the centre of the capital and any of its corners. There is a bus stop line 16 at the door, and you are only 20 km from the Tramuntana Mountains and 18 km from the airport.
You are going to be in for a treat exploring this area that offers so much; there are beautiful villages only a short drive from the property, and Bunyola is one of Mallorca’s most untouched and traditional villages. Located at the south edge of the Tramuntana Mountains with fantastic views, this is a wonderful authentic experience meandering through its cobbled streets; it’s worth visiting the gorgeous Gardens of Alfabia, which will take you back through history to the Arab era of Mallorca.
To the west of the property by the coast is the town of Banyalbufar famous for its terraced mountains where oranges and tomatoes are grown. Cala Banyalbufar has a narrow beach in a beautiful bay surrounded by steep cliffs and mountains. Although the beach is rocky, the view is to die for and a great place to take a swim in turquoise waters.
Palma is a glittering city dominated by the stunning 14th-century gothic Cathedral ‘La Seu’, overlooking the city and shimmering harbour, with beautiful architecture, an array of chic boutiques and galleries and plenty of stylish cafes and bars to enjoy, Palma has a wonderful atmosphere that attracts artists, musicians along with rich and famous. A glass of Cava and a plate of tapas at one of the many pavement cafes is a wonderful excuse to people-watch in between finding designer clothes, jewellery and accessories in this shopper’s paradise.
There are plenty of tours of the city by bike, bus or walking; however, if you just fancy a wander, try a stroll down Passeig des Born and enjoy the ambience of beautiful buildings, an elegant promenade and street performers.

THE REGION
The city is more attractive than ever, thanks to careful city planning and extensive renovation measures in the old town (Casco Antiguo). The so-called 'pearl of the Mediterranean' offers a vibrant lifestyle by day and night, brimming with a Mediterranean flair, which attracts millions of visitors each year.
The seaside promenade winds passed long sandy beaches in Palma, unexpected bays and stylish beach clubs. There's surely a sunny, sandy spot to suit everyone, from families with young children to fishermen seeking peace and quiet.
Palma is appealing all year round with an explosion of new trendy restaurants, luxury boutique hotels, fashionable bars with views, and an extensive cultural scene including top-quality museums and art galleries, traditional annual local festivals and live music concerts.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesThe kids are going to love the space and freedom Can Delme offers, and it’s going to be a hard task to drag them away from the inviting pool!
A car is recommended in order to explore the region, and Mallorca, in general, is easy to drive around.
A fabulous family day out is to visit Esporles, a pretty little village with blonde stone houses on the south side of the Tramontane mountains. Only a short drive from the property. The main street of Esporles is lined with trees and has a wide pedestrianised promenade with cafes and restaurants. There are quaint narrow lanes with spectacular views to explore, and on the road out of the village towards Banyalbufar, you will find La Granja, a museum in a 17th –century mansion dedicated to the history and traditions of Mallorca. The grounds are large and beautiful, and you will step back in time 400 years and see arts and crafts from this time along with artisans working with iron clay; the kids will gasp at the medieval torture chamber visit! There is a great terrace, restaurant and children’s play area.
There are some stunning beaches to visit, and probably the largest and best-known beach in this region is the Blue Flag winning Playa de Palma. With miles of soft white sands and clear shallow turquoise waters. There are plenty of facilities with every imaginable water sport available and a wide flat promenade with plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants.
Further afield on the west coast of the island Sant Elm is another wonderful beach with soft sands and shallow waters with a lifeguard, and plenty of amenities. Whilst here, you can take the ferry to Sa Dragonera, an island that looks like a dragon rising up out of the sea. The kids will love this nature reserve with paths all across the island, and they are going to have lots of fun spotting the little lizards on this Dragon Island!
There are loads to see and do in the capital Palma, and it only takes 15 minutes by car.
The Palma Aquarium is a real gem housing an abundance of sea life and the deepest shark tank in Europe– don’t miss the turtles in the Mediterranean gardens; the kids will love them! The Aquarium also has play areas, a Pirates ship and fountains for the kids to enjoy.
The Palma to Soller wooden train trip is very popular, and kids big and small love it! The wonderful antique railway runs from Palma through the Tramuntana Mountains to the pretty little town of Soller on the northwest side of the island, and the train passes through 13 tunnels, goes over a 52-metre long viaduct and rises to a height of nearly 200 metres – the scenery is beautiful!. The train departs from the Plaza de Espana in Palma each morning. The one-way journey takes about an hour. (Please note they only take cash for tickets).
After exploring Soller, you can take a 15-minute ride by tram to the lovely Port de Soller, which has a wide sandy bay and plenty of restaurants and bars to enjoy; this is an ideal beach destination for the kids.
