Overview
Rustic charm comes in abundance at the beautifully quaint Villa Can Murti, a stone country house situated near Manacor and Saint Llorenc, in the east of Mallorca. The recent restoration mindfully preserved many of the stunning historical elements of the villa, making it a truly beautiful backdrop to your Majorcan holiday.
On arrival through the iron gates and a sweeping driveway, lies the picturesque villa, complete with traditional shutters and a large terrace at the foot of the front door with exceptional views across the rolling hills surrounding Villa Can Murti.
On the ground floor, stone flooring sweeps throughout the beautiful hallway and living space creating a cool, calm atmosphere. Traditional interior design, including wooden beams, whitewashed walls and antique furniture, fills the comfortable living room, which sofas, rocking chairs and a satellite TV offering home entertainment. Adjacent to the lounge is the rustic dining room, featuring the original curved stone wall and window, and an original dining table and bench to accommodate a large party of guests. The kitchen is an unexpected gem, featuring breathtaking original tiles but fitted with all the modern kitchen appliances you could need. There are two lovely twin bedrooms on the ground floor, along with a bathroom with bath and shower.
The most beautiful staircase with traditional tiles takes you to the first floor where you’ll find three more bedrooms; two double bedrooms and one single bedroom. Sleep like a baby on the magnificent antique wooden double beds and take in the views through the original windows. A bathroom with bath and shower facilities completes the upstairs accommodation, along with a beautiful stone terrace which is a perfect spot for your morning coffee and reading time.
Outside, an original outhouse has been restored to create an entertainment area, ideal for big family meals. Beneath the beams and pillars, there’s a large dining table, a games table, a kitchenette and toilet and shower facilities.
The large private swimming pool is nestled in the pretty garden and expanse of lawn, surrounded by sunbeds and parasols. Another dining area sits close by and is shaded by the trees; a lovely spot for al fresco meal times.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa Can MurtiManacor offers a wealth of historical remains including important prehistoric sites from the Talaiotic era (1.200 to 900 BC) such as the megalithic remains of S’Illot Son Vaquer, Son Ribot or the site of S’Hospitalet Vell, a Talaiotic village which due to its size and monumental value is one of the most important on the island and also one of the most enigmatic.
There are the remains of Son Pereto, a former chapel, on the Manacor to Sant Llorenc road, where the treasures of this tiny church are gradually being unearthed including the beautiful mosaics and a large number of other archaeological remains providing evidence and a reminder of the ancient Christian colony. These treasures can be viewed in Manacor’s Municipal Archaeological Museum situated in the Tower of the Enagistes (Manacor to Calas de Mallorca road).
Other interesting historical sites include the remains of the Paleo-Christian church of Sa Carrotja and the communication and defence tower " Torre des Falcons" in Porto Cristo; the humble remains of the Manacor Royal Palace" Torre del Palau" former dwelling of King James 11; the neo-Gothic building of the church of Sorrows in Manacor whose bell tower, known as the Rubi tower, is the highest building in the town, but the architectural jewel is without doubt the cloister of Saint Vicente Ferrer, one of the few cloisters in the country forming a twin gallery and which was declared a National Monument in 1919. Today, with the help of grants, it is being restored by a team of architects and surveyors.

THE REGION
Manacor is the second largest town in Mallorca, after the capital of Palma. The town's reputation as Mallorca's home of industry has left Manacor with a very distinctive feel. The largely residential town is situated on the North Eastern tip of the island, with many of the nearby coastal resorts and attractions falling within its municipality.
For those looking to get to know Mallorca through its nature, Manacor is home to the only 'Via Verde' in the Balearics. The 29 km eco-path begins in Manacor and offers to change scenery along the way.
Manacor is a very important city for tennis sport on the island. Rafa Nadal was born in Manacor and is now building 'The Rafael Nadal International Tennis Centre' to attract talented youngsters from all over the world.
