All of the bedrooms provide a private haven for guests to relax, and the bathrooms are all modern and extremely well-equipped.

Outside, Casa Rossina only gets more breathtaking. A large dining table that seats ten offers the perfect setting for alfresco meals overlooking the stunning mountains surrounding the villa. There are several sun loungers and day beds, as well as a separate, more relaxed seating area with a coffee table, where guests can get together after a delicious meal.

There is also a second alfresco dining area, accessed directly from the kitchen at the side of the villa; this shaded dining space includes a barbecue and seats eight, perfect for a late breakfast or relaxed lunch during those hot, lazy days in the sun. A few steps down from the villa, the spectacular infinity pool sits centre stage, overlooking the magnificent views all around.

Casa Rossina is situated high up the Tramuntana mountain range overlooking the Sóller valley,  just a few minutes from Fornalutx, a ten-minute drive from the Port de Soller beach and the old town of Soller, while the beautiful village of Deia can be reached in under thirty minutes by car. Fornalutx is a forty-minute drive from Palma de Mallorca’s Sant Joan airport. It’s a little bit isolated from the rest of the island but has been made easier to access thanks to the Soller tunnel built-in 1997.

The charming little village of Fornalutx has a magical quality to it. So much so that, in 1983, it was awarded by the Promotion of Tourism of Mallorca with the Silver Plate for the defence and maintenance of the town. Not only does Fornalutx claim a superlative mountain backdrop but the number of sought-after walking trails and cycle routes on its doorstep makes the village a top destination for hikers and bikers to base themselves. For a more laid-back experience, its cafes offer terraces with views of olive and orange groves scaling right up to the pine-clad foothills of Puig Major (Mallorca’s highest mountain).

The village itself is undoubtedly the main attraction. The chance to walk around the narrow streets admiring the architecture and traditional beauty attracts thousands of visitors every year. The building that stands out is the current town hall, which includes a 17th-century defence tower. The church is another must-see attraction, with the mixture of its original gothic features and baroque renovations creating a unique blend.

The main square is Plaça d’España, which is surrounded by cafés and is home to the general store. Just off the main square, you will find Panaderia de Fornalutx (local bakery) offering several wonderful freshly baked items. For a tablecloth dining experience, head to Café Med, which can be found just off the main square.

Although it's somewhat pricier than some of the other restaurants in the village, it serves up the best seafood dishes. Es Turo is a casual family-friendly joint serving typical Mallorcan cuisine, from tapas and tortillas to fish and meat dishes. Ca N'Antuna is another one serving up local cuisine in a traditional local setting, while Calzone is the local Italian and can be easily found on the main street in the village.

The nearest beach to Fornalutx is 7km away. However, there is a tram linking the nearer town of Sóller to Port de Sóller. This can make the trip to the beach as enjoyable as the beach itself.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Casa Rossina offers ample room for a large family; the twin bedroom offers the perfect room for children, and the large garden and expansive pool will keep children entertained for hours! The infinity pool is fenced around the edge, making it that bit safer for children and giving parents extra peace of mind.

If the kids get tired of splashing around in the pool, there is plenty to do in the local area. Fornalutx is popular with hikers thanks to the variety of well-signposted routes in the area. The stunning countryside around the village consists of mountains, citrus and olive groves, coastal views and pretty villages.

There’s a wonderful leisurely route from Fornalutx to Soller via the village of Binibassi which is a total trip of three hours, and you can return back to Fornalutx by bus. Or perhaps you might like to try another more challenging option between Fornalutx and the historic Comuna de Sa Bassa, which is a round trip of three hours.

Cyclists also use Fornalutx as a base; there’s plenty of challenging road cycling to be done in this area of Mallorca. The legendary Sa Calobra climb isn’t too far away either, one of the main reasons why cyclists come to Mallorca. If mountain biking is more your thing, this can also be done in this area, but we would highly recommend taking a guide with you for this. You can rent bikes from Tramuntana Tours in Port de Soller.

Eating out with children is a breeze in Fornalutx, where large family lunches are a way of life, and the mood is laid-back in all but the most formal of places. You’ll get lots of smiles if you have kids with you and letting a tot wander around a restaurant.

The family-friendly Port de Soller beach is just a ten-minute drive away, where kids can play in the sand, snorkel and try new watersports. Guests can hire a boat and visit the nearby coves, or even go diving and witness the rich marine life that the Balearic Sea has to offer.
