Overview

Pool Villa/House Modern
Great Value
Ideal for Kids Parking Space

Set in the foothills of the Serra Tramuntana, in the rural heartland of Mallorca, sits this charming four-bedroom villa. Lush foliage and bright bougainvillaea extend a cheerful welcome, and inside, the rooms are uplifting and elegant. The open-plan living area is neat and spacious, with brilliant white walls, contemporary artwork and two-corner sofas taking centre stage in the lounge. From here, large glass doors open onto a pretty terrace and dining area. Equally attractive is the light-filled kitchen kitted out with all the modern appliances you’ll need for a comfortable stay, including dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine. There’s a sit-up breakfast island where you can enjoy morning coffee and croissants, or better yet, step through the huge glass doors and enjoy brunch outside on the terrace.

Whilst the ground floor is wonderfully cool and airy, the upstairs is minimalist in style but super comfy. One bedroom is located on the ground floor and a further three bedrooms are located on the first floor, with two double beds and two sets of twin beds. All the rooms are light, adorned with simple, understated furnishings, and have large windows that bring in the fabulous outdoor setting. In addition, there are three pristine bathrooms featuring large walk-in showers - perfect for freshening up after a hot day!

While inside offers a slice of tranquillity, outside is the perfect place to kick back and relax. Lounge on one of the sunbeds or take it easy on the comfy garden furniture, chilled glass in hand. You could easily idle away hours gazing out at the treetops and rolling mountain views. The garden also has a superb swimming pool where you can bop in the water and absorb the peaceful surroundings. But come mealtimes, the whole family can gather on the terrace. It’s perfectly set up for outdoor dining with a barbeque and sociable table seating eight people.

Once you’ve spent days lazing in the garden, you might want to venture out. Happily, it’s only a five-minute drive north to the picturesque town of Selva. Although small, it offers plenty of historical architecture, a weekly market and excellent restaurants. For further shops, high-end boutiques, leather goods, and cosy cellar restaurants, head five minutes in the other direction to Inca.

Can Masanella is located in the heart of Mallorca, close to the pretty town of Selva. It’s a quiet area, surrounded by farmland and overlooked by the impressive Serra Tramuntana. A selection of bars, restaurants and weekly markets can be found 5 minutes drive away in the nearby villages of Biniamar, Caimari and Selva.

Can Masanella is the perfect home for those wanting to enjoy outdoor activities with great hiking and cycling trails nearby. For a pleasant stroll in nature, walk the 4.7km trail around the town of Selva. It’s a moderately easy route and winds through mountains and forest. Afterwards, be sure to explore the town centre too. First established as an Arab farm back in 1232, it has retained much of its rustic charm. Visit the Gothic church in the main square and then admire the seventeenth-century Valella Cross featuring eight famous saints of the island. There’s also a weekly market where you can shop for local produce, including goat's cheese, olives, and homemade jams. From Selva, you can also pick up the well-known Dry Stone Route. This fabulous hiking trail allows you to soak up the beautiful landscape, wildflowers, and mountain views, and links Selva to the quaint towns of Biniamar and Caimari. In Biniamar, be sure to stop and enjoy refreshments and some traditional Mallorcan food at a cosy local bar; while in Caimari, definitely pick up a bottle or two of its famous olive oil. Also worth a visit is Inca; a 5-minute drive south from the villa, Inca is known as Mallorca’s ‘Leather Town’ and plays host to one of the biggest weekly markets on the island. After browsing the fantastic leather goods, head to a cellar restaurant for a plate of traditional cuisine such as caracoles (snails).

If you fancy exploring the coastline, you’ll find great beaches at Puerto Alcudia and Puerto Pollensa. Both bays can be reached in less than 30 minutes by car and offer fine sand and calm waters. Swim in the clean Mediterranean Sea or charter a yacht and discover hidden bays and coves. And after a day at the beach, sit back and relax at one of the many delightful seafood restaurants.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Children will love this wonderfully relaxing villa with its open-plan living area and huge outdoor space. They can sink into the comfy furniture, watch a film on the television, or plug into the Wifi and relax outside on the sun loungers. The swimming pool is perfect for splashing in, while a barbeque and outdoor dining area mean family meals can be enjoyed al fresco.

There are plenty of scenic walking trails nearby or, for a more energetic day out, hire bicycles and explore the nearby historic villages of Biniamar, Caimari, and Selva. For a day at the beach, pack the sun cream and head northeast to Puerto Alcudia or Puerto Pollensa. Both are less than 30 minutes away in the car and offer fine sand and clean, calm waters. Younger children can paddle in the sea while older children can try their hand at a number of water sports, including paddleboarding and kayaking. Once you’ve exhausted the beach, grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants dotted along the palm-fringed promenade or jump on a glass-bottomed boat and watch the colourful fish swimming in the waters.

While in this part of the island, be sure to also visit the Campanet caves. A 20-minute drive from the villa, the caves feature small pools of water, different chambers, and a large number of stalactites and stalagmites. Children will love this other-worldly, spooky experience! For another memorable day out, head to Rancho Grande Park. It’s a 40-minute drive east of the villa and offers children the chance to go horseback riding through pine forests and beaches. Afterwards, the kids can feast on some delicious barbeque food while the little ones can enjoy the playground, bouncy castle, football pitch and miniature zoo.

On really hot days, the whole family can escape the heat and splash around at the Alcudia Hidropark. Less than a 25-minute drive away, it offers hours of entertainment with foam slides, multislides and spirals, plus wave pools, fountains and splash zones. It’s a great place for all ages to burn off energy. And if the kids are still energetic after all that activity, there’s a nearby go-karting track where they can enjoy the thrill of racing in a safe environment.
