Rustic and stylish throughout and set in the beautiful village of San Carlos, Villa Vich is the perfect accommodation for those looking to enjoy a peaceful and idyllic holiday in rural surroundings. Accommodating up to eight guests, this stunning property is secluded and private, featuring glorious outdoor spaces, incredible architecture, and modern, luxurious amenities. With beautiful beamed ceilings throughout, the decor here at Villa Vich is light and fresh, with neutral tones and accents of rich wood. The lounge area has cosy, oatmeal-coloured sofas, handsomely-crafted wooden furnishings and a flatscreen TV for your entertainment - it’s a great space in which to spend relaxing evenings or quiet mornings. The large kitchen/diner offers guests ample room for indoor dining, as well as an additional cosy seating area and fireplace.

There’s a rustic, farmhouse aesthetic here at the villa, with sprays of beautiful exposed stonework and tiled floors, and the kitchen is no exception, featuring solid wooden units, plenty of food-preparation space and a range of high-end appliances that include an oven and microwave, kettle, juicer, coffee machine, toaster and dishwasher. There’s also a washing machine - ideal for those enjoying a longer stay or for holidaymakers who want to pack a little lighter and save some room in their luggage for those all-important souvenirs!  

You’ll find four spacious and equally charming bedrooms here at Villa Vich - two doubles with ensuite facilities, air conditioning and a private terrace, and two twin rooms, one with an ensuite. A fourth bathroom with a modern shower is located outside. Extras include a well-equipped gym space, which also features a pool table - a great addition for enjoying a bit of family-friendly competition.

The outdoor areas are spacious and well-furnished, allowing guests to sit back, relax, and soak up the glorious surroundings. A covered outdoor dining area with kitchen space and a built-in barbecue grill provides the perfect spot for enjoying alfresco meals with the whole family, and the furnished, covered porch is an ideal space for partaking in pre-dinner drinks or enjoying a morning cuppa. Guests staying here at the villa are sure to want to make the most of the private pool, which is surrounded by luxurious loungers, and there’s even a small children’s playground area for keeping the younger guests entertained during their stay.

Villa Vich is nestled in the hillside near san Carlos, a village which became famous in the 60s and 70s as a hippy retreat. Today, a lot of residents here still subscribe to the carefree, hippy lifestyle, living without modern comforts and embracing a true communal spirit.

The village enjoys a bohemian yet cosmopolitan ambience, featuring a mix of traditional, modest fincas alongside newer properties that have been built to reflect the style and charm of this beautiful location, all surrounding the beautiful white church at the centre of the village. You’ll find a good selection of bars and restaurants in San Carlos, including the famous Anita’s Bar - once famous with the hippy community as they had the only phone in the village - the original booth is still there (and functional!) today. Whether you’re after a sleepy cafe or a fine-dining experience, you’re sure to find a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and once you’ve enjoyed some of the local delicacies on offer, be sure to stroll through the village to the surrounding shops where you can browse for colourful fashions and charming souvenirs.

While you are staying in the village, Oliver recommends heading to nearby Las Dalias (less than 1km from San Carlos) and visiting the original hippy market, where you’ll find larger-than-life characters and vibrant stalls on the ivy-covered terraces and courtyards. During the summer months, the market is there long into the evening, slowly giving way to the nighttime events that take place on the beautiful open-air terrace, continuing later in the village’s club, Akasha, which features incredible acoustics, cool design, and DJs and live acts from around the world.

San Carlos itself is at a junction that branches off to some gorgeous local beaches, including Cala Lena, Cala Nova and the nudist-friendly Aguas Blancas - all featuring facilities including loungers, parasols, and lifeguards, with restaurants and beach bars nearby. Cala Lena is particularly popular with families as there is good access for pushchairs and the disabled, toilets, clear, shallow waters (ideal for the kids!), and pine trees offering shade - perfect for a secluded and relaxing picnic with family and friends.

Pretty, convenient and family-friendly, the northern village of San Carlos is one of the most charming villages on the island. Once the hippie heart of the island, there is plenty of history soaked into its streets and today still boasts a wonderfully bohemian vibe.

There is a good selection of restaurants and bars - they all have one thing in common; a friendly, welcoming atmosphere; it is easy to get into a conversation here. The surrounding shops invite you to browse through colourful fashion or householding items, here you can find nice souvenirs at reasonable prices.

Nearby beaches include the diminutive and lovely Cala Mastella, Pou des Lleo and the dramatic Cala Boix. Oh, and don’t forget to try the amazing ice cream at Vicio on the main street.

With its twin bedrooms, private pool and small playground area, Villa Vich is a great choice of accommodation for those visiting the area with children. The property is secluded and private, and you’ll find plenty of shaded outdoor spaces for the kids to enjoy while staying out of the sun during the hottest part of the day. It is worth noting that there are some steps both inside and out that parents will need to be aware of - particularly if you have very young children, and the private pool is unfenced so, as always, when it comes to kids and bodies of water, adult-supervision is a must.

The nearby village of San Carlos is a popular area with families thanks to its pretty, unspoilt surroundings that are away from the hustle and bustle of the main towns, and it is well worth visiting if you are holidaying in the region with the kids. The village is ideally located close to several popular family-friendly beaches, including Cala Nova, which features a long, wide curve of sand and shallow waters - perfect for paddling! The water here is particularly clear, so the kids will enjoy spotting the colourful fish or perhaps having a go at snorkelling.

Visitors to San Carlos will enjoy spending their time exploring the local shops and the famous market and visiting the bars and restaurants - most of which feature good children’s menus. If you happen to visit the area with the kids during the month of June, you’ll be lucky enough to experience the Ai Carai music festival, a free event that focuses on world music, creativity and alternative culture and that always promises to be a riot of music and colour that starts mid-afternoon and goes on late into the night. Stages encircle the town, showcasing performers of a wide variety of musical genres, including rock, reggae, soul, flamenco, jazz and Indian, as well as theatre groups, magicians and circus acts. You’ll also find plenty of food carts, street vendors and market stalls located in between the stages, so you can enjoy reasonably-priced street food and pick up some handmade jewellery and quirky accessories while you enjoy the entertainment.

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit €1000 charged to client’s credit card by the owner before/upon arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.
Arrival time 3 - 7 pm. Late check in is available on request between 7 pm - 10 pm at an extra cost of €60 per booking, paid locally. Check in after 10 pm will be at an extra cost of €100 per booking, paid locally.

End of stay cleaning included? Not included, in winter an extra €180 for reservations of less than 6 day.     The house is set in a wonderful position with distant sea views over rolling countryside. It is paceful and secluded. It's tucked away down a 1.5km track, surrounded by farmland. Perfect for families looking for tranquility and to be surrounded by nature, yet with easy access to San Carlos and the best beaches in the norht and east.

    La atencion con los propietarios de la villa fue estupenda. Las vistas a la isla y el slencio en el area son muy relajantes. El aire acondicionado es un plus.
