Just a stone’s throw away from some of the best amenities the island has to offer, including golden sandy beaches, fine dining establishments, and bustling shopping centres, this stunning villa still manages to be uncompromising when it comes to peace and tranquillity.
Casa Tablero is nestled within a quiet residential area and features an enclosed garden secured by high, white-washed walls and fencing that offers guests seclusion and peace of mind. Perfect for families and friendship groups alike, the villa has a spacious open-plan interior that is breathtakingly stylish and modern throughout. Resplendent in shades of white, black and grey, punctuated by rich woods and chocolate brown accents, the villa’s open-concept layout is visually stunning, with glossy white floor tiles, sumptuous sofas and high-tech home-from-home comforts such as satellite flat-screen TV, high-speed internet and air conditioning.
The villa’s integrated kitchen is equally stylish, with a contemporary breakfast bar that seats up to six guests and shiny black and white surfaces and appliances. The villa’s bedrooms provide a fresh and quiet haven, promising guests a restful night’s sleep, and for larger groups, the living area’s sofa converts into another double bed, taking the property’s capacity up to six.

Casa Tablero is in a prime location in the Playa del Ingles beach resort in Maspalomas, one of the island's most high-end and exclusive regions. The villa is just a few steps away from the Maspalomas' famous golden dunes, a protected site that covers over a thousand acres. Most of the dunes can be explored on foot, allowing you to take in sights such as the beautiful lagoon and lighthouse, but we recommend taking a 40-minute camel safari for a truly unique and fun way to experience this incredible landscape.
The bustling local outdoor markets are always a big hit with tourists and locals alike and are a wonderful way to while away a few hours; here, you'll find a wide range of stalls selling everything from clothing to fresh produce, including many aloe vera products - as the plant is native to Gran Canaria. If you like to shop until you drop, you'll be in your element staying on this part of the island, with a range of lower-end and high-end shops available in the area. We recommend heading to Boulevard Faro where you'll find well-known labels like La Perla, Burberry and Tommy Hilfiger and, a little further along the seafront, you'll find the popular Bellavista and El Varadero shopping centres, as well as even more cafes, bars and restaurants to enjoy.
Enjoying good food is one of the best parts of any holiday, and visitors to the area will be pleased to know that there is a huge choice of restaurants along the waterfront of both Maspalomas and Meloneras if you fancy venturing further than San Agustin. Las Rias is one of the most popular with tourists and locals alike and can be found right near the lighthouse on the seafront. Specialising in seafood, this family-run establishment serves up a dish of pulpo and prawns with potato foam and grilled calamari that really have to be tasted to be believed! When it comes to seafood, you're going to be spoilt for choice here, but for those who consider themselves more 'turf' than 'surf', there are also some great steak restaurants in the area, such as La Churassco, as well as plenty of places offering Italian cuisine, tapas bars, and eateries with great vegetarian and vegan menus.

Maspalomas is not just known for its enormous expanse of dunes next to the sea or its great climate. It is also known for its old Lighthouse, which saw the first tourists arrive and witnessed the area turn into a holiday resort.
Just a few metres from the promenade, bathers and walkers dive into the sand, which marks the start of the Maspalomas Natural Dune Reserve, made up of three eco-systems: Palmeral, Charca and Dunas (Palms, Pond and Dunes), which run in parallel a few metres from the sea. The whole area is an enormous, exceptionally valuable natural space.
Casa Tablero is ideally located for families staying with young children, as the beach, shops and places to eat are all within easy walking distance of the villa. The property’s single-storey layout also makes it a good choice as there are no stairs to navigate, and although there are only two bedrooms, the living area’s sofa bed accommodates another two guests and is ideal for younger children. The kids are sure to enjoy the open spaces both indoors and out, and the enclosed, high-walled garden offers parents security and peace of mind. The villa’s private pool is sure to be a hit and is easily accessible for the little ones. It’s worth noting that the pool is at ground level and doesn’t feature a fence or barrier, so extra caution is advised when the kids are playing nearby.
Maspalomas is home to great beaches and markets, as well as cycling and walking routes, shopping centres and eateries - so guests of all ages will find plenty to enjoy. El Faro de Maspalomas - one of the oldest lighthouses in Europe, is well worth a visit while you are here with the kids. This fascinating landmark is a popular tourist destination thanks to its picturesque beach setting and rich history that lends itself perfectly to a calming and interesting family day out. With plenty of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants in the surrounding area, it’s the perfect ‘base camp’ for your day out, with everything you need: sand, sea, sights and refreshments all in one place.
For something a little more adventurous, we recommend enjoying a family day out at Aqualand Maspalomas, a water-based amusement park filled with adrenaline-fuelled waterslides and wave pools. Here you’ll have the opportunity to swim with sea lions, as well as enjoy a serene floating tour of the Pirate River - there really is something for everyone. Oliver recommends booking tickets for the park’s VIP zone, where cushioned sun chairs are serviced by friendly staff and make for a welcome spot for a shady rest.
Maspalomas is also home to the popular tourist attraction Palmitos Park, an interactive zoological and botanical centre that lets guests get up close and personal with exotic birds like parrots, toucans and flamingos. Children of all ages will delight in a walk around the butterfly house before heading to see reptiles such as komodo dragons, caiman and turtles. If cute and furry is more their thing, the park also houses a wide array of cuddly-looking critters, including meerkats, aardvarks and wallabies that the kids will adore! For a truly unique experience, Palmitos Park offers a ‘Dolphin Encounters’ experience where small groups can enjoy half an hour spent with these majestic creatures. Here you’ll learn about their biology and habits in a fun and interactive way and even be able to take some souvenir photographs. The dolphin experience can be booked once you have entered the park rather than in advance, and we recommend reserving your places by 10 am to guarantee you the chance to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
