Overview
Casa Anton is a gorgeous modern 6-bedroomed house with a private pool sleeping up to 16 guests overlooking Limens beach in the stunning unspoilt region of Galicia.
Galicia is known as the 'land of witches and superstition' and offers an alternative Spain. The wild Atlantic coastline, medieval monasteries, spectacular green countryside, and strong Celtic connections make this a perfect region for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. It's not unlike Scotland, even to the extent that bagpipes are played on special occasions.
Casa Anton is a calm, tranquil oasis and a perfect retreat for families or groups. Built over two floors, you can expect feature stonework, white-washed walls, warm woods and stylish minimal furnishings.
The spacious open plan living area is fresh and inviting with exposed blond stone walls and cool modern tiles, a stylish backdrop for large comfy sofas and light neutral furnishings, and a lovely retreat to relax in front of the large wall-mounted smart TV. The kitchen dining space offers a large traditional style wooden table perfect for relaxed dinner parties and a spacious, well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar. You will find all the mod cons available, including a microwave, ceramic hob, fridge freezer, toaster and coffee machine.
Upstairs there are six simple yet stylish bedrooms offering great flexibility for larger groups; some have the additional bonus of wonderful sea views.
The main double bedroom enjoys the luxury of an en-suite bathroom, and the family suite contains four twin beds and has the luxury of a beautiful terrace as well as an en-suite shower. There are two further two double bedrooms, each containing two flexible twin beds, one single bedroom and one triple bedroom. Additionally, there are three separate bathrooms with showers for the guests' convenience.
The outside space is the star of the show; you can enjoy magnificent sea and beach views from the expansive terrace and garden dotted with elegant sculptures and beautiful shrubs. There is plenty of seating and shaded areas, perfect for pre-dinner drinks, barbecues or watching the sun go down, and there is an elegant dining space to enjoy al fresco dining on warm balmy evenings. There is plenty of space for sun worshippers to relax on oversized sun loungers, and cooling off is going to be a treat in the inviting, almost heart-shaped, private pool.
The property has the added bonus of a separate annexe apartment with a kitchen, shower, and living room with a sofa bed for two people.
The property is very family-friendly, and a cot is available upon request. There are also laundry facilities, including a washing machine, dryer and iron/ironing board. Casa Anton is a wonderfully relaxing retreat positioned perfectly to explore this magical region.

Location
About the surrounding area of Casa AntonGalicia is located in the top western corner of Spain. It has its own customs, culture, food and language and feels very different from the usual Spanish Tourist spots. Casa Anton is secluded and private, with stunning sea views and a private path leading to the sheltered sandy beach of Limens. This lovely beach offers a kayak rental service and is a wonderful space to spend time with family or friends.
The pretty seaside town of Cangas is only a short drive away, and here you can pick up supplies at the supermarkets and independent shops selling fresh produce. Galicia is one of Spain's top seafood regions, and there are plenty of portside restaurants and bars to enjoy fabulous seafood alongside local wines. Charming chiringuitos open up along the beaches in the summer months, where you can sample drinks and tapas and occasional live music on some evenings.
Just off the coast and a short boat ride from Cangas are the Cies Islands, an archipelago made up of three small Islands. The Cies islands are a 'must see' and are part of the Atlantic Islands National Park. This unspoilt paradise is ideal for hiking and is home to Praia de Rodas, which was once awarded the title of 'the best beach in the world' by The Guardian.
Santiago de Compostela is Galicia's most famous city, as over 300,000 Camino pilgrims venture there each year. The massive cathedral dominates the cityscape and is considered one of the most beautiful medieval buildings in Europe. The stunning town is full of history. Expect beautiful parks, great museums and fabulous architecture. As you meander through winding streets, be sure to sample some local dishes as the city is renowned for its food.
Cabo Finisterre meaning 'the end of the world', is also well worth a visit and is where Camino de Santiago pilgrims end their journey. It is easy to access by car and easy to walk around if the weather is not very windy. The view is spectacular, especially at sunset, and not one to miss.
Casa Anton is in the perfect spot to make the most of enjoying this magical, unspoilt region.

About the Region & Getting There
About Galicia
Like many parts of Spain, Galicia has its very own identity that has remained intact through its regional dialect and distinguishing culture. Although Galicia is recognised for its holy traditions, we urge budding tourists to also consider its astonishing green countryside & rivers and its UNESCO World Heritage sites. Occasionally you may even hear the gentle tootling of bagpipes, known locally as the Galician Gaita, along this northern corner of the Iberian Peninsula.
You're likely to fly into Santiago de Compostela, which is the capital of Galicia and is probably best known for the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage and its route. Many of the travellers embark on this journey by foot and tend to be mesmerised by this fine city at the end of their trek. Casco Viejo, or the Old Town, is a good place to end or even start your holiday. This area of the city is blessed with markets, restaurants, bars and buildings from a bygone era. After exhausting yourself in the busyness of the city, take a day trip to Praia de Rodas, on the gorgeous Cíes Islands. These small islands, accessible by boat from Vigo, Baiona, or Cangas, have been noted as having some of the best beaches in the world. It has to be seen to be believed!
Galicia is divided into four key regions: A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense and our favourite – Pontevedra. A Galician proverb states that 'Pontevedra gives water to travellers'. We firmly believe this to be true, as this particular part of Galicia has everything a traveller could need for an unforgettable experience and it almost feels like this city is constantly giving back. Whilst you holiday in Pontevedra you will realise that days are structured around mealtime. And why wouldn't they be? With some of the best seafood you will experience in Spain and the noteworthy Albariño wine, you may notice your jeans feeling a little tighter toward the end of your holiday. You will be glad to know that your waistline need not be a cause for concern though! Pontevedra is blessed with some of the best hiking trails, medieval monasteries, estuaries, and valleys within Spain. Don't forget about the coastline either! Rarely you will you find so many empty beaches, so make the most of this privacy and just embrace the nature around you.
Galicia is still an unspoilt part of the world. It has everything a diverse group of friends & family need to have a glorious adventure.
Getting There
Galicia is served by either Santiago de Compostela Airport, A Coruña Airport, or Vigo Airport. Various train lines connect the main cities and towns of Galicia to other destinations in Northern and Central Spain. Hop on and enjoy the view from your comfy seat; there's even a Galician Tourist Train pass! This discounted rail pass gives you access to various rail routes created by the Galician Regional Government and based on key elements of the region. Follow the Lighthouse Route along the northern coastline and stop to admire the lighthouses and gorgeous sea views, or hop on and follow one of the Ribeira Sacra Wine Routes to visit the lovely towns and wineries where acclaimed Galician wines are made and enjoyed. Check out the government website to grab your pass and plan your trip!
From the UK:
Direct flights are available from London with easyJet, Ryanair, Vueling, and many others. Although, travellers should be aware that Vigo Airport only receives domestic flights, so a stopover is needed if you wish to travel to this airport. Chartered flights are also available from several other UK airports.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesKids are going to absolutely love Casa Anton. There is plenty of space for fun and games outside, along with the spectacular pool to enjoy all day. From the garden, it is just a minute stroll down to Liméns beach via a private pathway, which is neat and clean with white sands, a dune area and a pine forest. There is a windsurfing school where you can book courses and a campsite with a small supermarket.
A boat trip to the Cies Islands with the kids is a wonderful day out. You can book boat trips from Cangas or Vigo, and it's advisable to book in advance. The Cies Islands have been part of the National Sea and Land Park of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia since 2002. Set between the Atlantic and the Ria de Vigo, this natural protected area is an incomparable natural paradise. There are nine beautiful beaches, and Rodas Beach is truly spectacular, joining two of the three islands together. Enjoy great walks and well-marked trails and reach magnificent views on top of Alto do Principe over the Islands.
Vigo is one of Galicia's cities and sits on one of the lovely Rias Baixas. There are plenty of streets to explore, and it has the largest fishing port in Europe. Close to Vigo is Baiona, which is the coastal town where Christopher Columbus came to after 'discovering the New World'. There is a full-size replica of his ship, la Pinta, in the town.
Galicia has a wealth of history, and if you fancy travelling further, a trip to the Tower of Hercules in A Coruña Harbour is sure to excite those young historians. This is the oldest functioning lighthouse in the world, and you can experience its Roman origins as you walk into the lighthouse and visit its foundations. It has a beautiful path in and around the grounds with lots of sculptures to see and a small beach close by.
The region of Galicia is a treasure trove of activities for families, and 'I'm bored' should not be a sentence you hear very often!
